That's the first lesson a trial author has to learn. I'm just planning on making a trial that has the plot and the length of a whole game and I guess, I will hit the 10000 frames by that. ^^Sligneris wrote:Quantity doesn't equal quality after all

In one single trial, or split into multiple chapters? The Editor can't handle more than about 5000 at once.kwando1313 wrote:Uh... There are plenty of trials that are over 10000 frames... >_>

It could handle 6,900 for TRev, if I remember correctly, but TRev took a lot of time to load completely.

Yep. And the poor editor just can't handle it. Just the DOM of the page takes up 80 MB of memory. AAO6 will handle it easily, but for now I can't recommend ever making a trial longer than 4000 frames. That's the absolute limit.eighthbit wrote:It could handle 6,900 for TRev, if I remember correctly, but TRev took a lot of time to load completely.
I see. Obviously, there's nothing wrong with splitting them into chapters.kwando1313 wrote:Oh, you meant 10k in a single part... Ah. I was thinking multiple chapters.

I am going to test the limits of the Trial Editor soon and make a single project with 10,000 frames! BWAHAHAHAHA!Meph wrote:Yep. And the poor editor just can't handle it. How about slightly longer than 4000 frames? Like a few hundred?Meph wrote:Yep. And the poor editor just can't handle it. Just the DOM of the page takes up 80 MB of memory. By that point -- if you listen carefully -- you may be able to hear the editor cry.eighthbit wrote:How about slightly longer than 4000 frames? Like a few hundred?

Let's be clear : I won't be soft with anyone that complains about V5 editor or player malfunctions after reaching more than 4000 frames in a single trial.

Honestly, it doesn't start becoming horrible to work on until you pass 5000.Meph wrote:By that point -- if you listen carefully -- you may be able to hear the editor cry.eighthbit wrote:How about slightly longer than 4000 frames? Like a few hundred?

And I thought my ~3000 frame part from Platinum was pushing it...
Congratulations to Bad Player and ShadowEdgeworth.
