The text speed in AAO trials is often way too low. The text appears much slower than I (and most other humans) naturally read. As a result, I spend far too much time on individual trials that I would rather use on playing more trials. I have obviously noticed the "Instant text display" option, but I never really liked it; it feels strangely uncomfortable and unnatural to play Ace Attorney this way. I was thinking about another option, "Fast text typing," a compromise between "Instant text display" and normal AA text display. It should at least double the normal text speed. It could either be another option next to "Instant text display" or completely replace it, depending on whether or not anyone will actually miss that feature. Does anyone really use it?
I know about one of the major counterarguments against this: People spend a lot of energy on timing intros so that music and content are in sync. This will obviously be ruined by such an option. But what can I say? Do you prefer that I don't play your case at all because I don't have time, or do you prefer that I play a version with slightly lower quality, by my own active, mature choice (I am copying one of the arguments for the "open editor" system, related to cheating)?
If the opposition for this is very strong, another option (which will be much more complicated to implement) would be including a feature for the author to allow fast text typing in some situations and not in others. The custom should be to allow it always outside the few cases where the timing is very important, like intros.
EDIT: Another, third option is to only enable the feature in the cases where the "Fast forward" button is available on the bottom screen. "Fast text display" would then be equivalent to automatically fast forwarding whenever that option is naturally available.

Re: [S][P] Fast text typing option
I don't expect significant demand for this feature. For me, v6 trials run at a comfortable pace, and they run too fast at double speed. I consider myself a fast reader, so am very skeptical of your claim that the current speed is unnatural for most humans.
The real problem is that the typing speed for pre-v6 trials is too slow. Notice how what was maximum typing speed in v5 is two-thirds speed now? A trial utility to scale that up to v6-level speeds is the proper solution to the problem of pre-v6 trials being too slow.

Re: [S][P] Fast text typing option
I kind of think that the text seems a little slow at times, myself. It's not arduously uncomfortable, and the official games are much the same, but the ability to maybe make the text go faster would be interesting. Maybe 1.5 speed? Though I understand that other features are being prioritized in the status quo, and as I said it's not that much of a bother. Just a little thing.

Re: [S][P] Fast text typing option
True, the main issue is old trials that are not likely to be updated to V6 speed, which would be a gigantic piece of work. If we can have an instant display setting, why can't we also have a fast display setting?
Also, the scaling tool suggested by Enthalpy would be useless unless it is advanced enough as to allow us to scale only some parts of the trials (avoiding intros, for example).

Nobody is arguing that you can't. I simply believe that it isn't worth the time investment for the forseeable future. Demand seems low, and we have much bigger issues to deal with!
Selective scaling should be doable, but even this isn't a particularly high-priority feature.

I don't mind adding a speed factor setting next to the instant typing checkbox. But yes, it's a low priority change
