Thanks, but you seem to have forgotten that Flash - and therefore AAO - can only read MP3, not Wav

You mean "flash player", Flash the expensive authoring tool can read them. I still don't get why the player doesn't do basic pcm. I mean, the developers seem like the averenge crazed coders who find the fun of inline asm and recompilation of bytecode for native execution to be feasible.
