So you're making a case and you haven't saved in a while. You go do something else for a little bit, and when you close down whatever browser you're using..
NO WAIT NONONONONOOONONNOOOOOOOOO CRAP
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
All of your progress! Lost! Unable to return! Gone!
That scenario pretty much exactly happened to me just now. I worked HARD on the thing I was making :(
So I stormed over here and suggested this.
If you're going to close the window or tab or whatever, ask if the user wants to save before exiting. Yes, no, cancel.
Never again shall this devastating accident happen!
So, how's it sound?
[E] Ask if you want to save before exiting the window/page

Something that may help prevent closing the tab would be pinning the tab. In Chrome, this is done by right-clicking the tab and clicking "pin tab." I believe the same is true for Firefox.

Well, I had no idea this option ever existed until you told me, so perhaps this could be added for those who don't know that much about the workings of Firefox/Chrome?TheDoctor wrote:Something that may help prevent closing the tab would be pinning the tab. Just tried it. Doesn't work.

Yeah, it won't prevent you from closing the browser. It just removes the "close tab" button from the tab itself. God help you if you click the browser's back button, or accidentally hit Ctrl-W while trying to hit Ctrl-A or something.
