After 8 months of delays the first case of Phoenix Wright: Project Justice is finally complete and finally playabe for everyone to see.

Special credit goes to Hesseldahl for his amazing artwork and sprites and a special thanks goes to TheKayOne for his hard work in finding all those typos, grammatical erroes, my misuse of semicolons etc.

Links to both parts

Trial Former: http://aceattorney.sparklin.org/player. ... l_id=71393
Trial Latter: http://aceattorney.sparklin.org/player. ... l_id=78767

Case 2 is being scripted and half way through the first draft as this goes public.

Please enjoy.

Isn't 10 cases... a bit unfeasible?

I mean, aiming for 5 was pretty ambitious to begin with -- but 10 is just too much, if you ask me. Think of it like this: it took roughly a year or so to get Nursing done. Nursing (I haven't played Latter yet but I'm assuming it is) is a trial-only case. Most of the cases from case 2 onward will have to be bigger and longer than it; each one probably bigger than the next. That's... over 9 years of development we're talking here.

Are all 10 really needed to tell the story?

I'm writing this because I really, REALLY want this project to succeed at this point, and I feel like planning the story and the game itself to fit 10 cases... it's too much. And I feel like there's no need for it. I mean, you're the storyteller, but... from experience, so many things could happen down the line that can derail that plan and I don't want to see the project suffer from it.

I won't let it suffer. The original concept plan was 10 cases, I never got round to updating the thread like I planned to.

The game is being scaled back to normal, reducing it back to at least 5 or 6 cases.

Nursing was initially done back in February, except it had major issues in lots of places TheKayOne pointed that needed to be resolved and the final date was being pushed back and back like Mighty No.9's fiasco. And Trial Former needed lots of cleaning up to stay consistant with Trial Latter.

Case 2 is already in development. It's another Trial only case set in another country. Scripting wise it's halfway through the first draft of Trial Former.

More will be revealed near the end of October if I'm lucky.

Are they all going to be trial only?

Or is it like 1 and 2 are trial only, 3 and 4 are 2 day and 5 is 3?

Edit: Oof, I remember during beta testing before I dropped out how Trial Latter was, I hope it is way improved like you say, I'll check it out

No, the first two are trial only.

The original Case 2 I had planned has been pushed back to case 3 where it's a normal case.

Spoiler : :
Irrevocable diplomatic immunity, a trained and dangerous assassin and a bomb threat... Dr. Orville Doce is essentially the worse aspects of Quercus Alba, Shelly de Killer, Ted Tonate and the phantom combined. It's almost scary how close he came to accomplishing his goal and likely killing pretty much everyone in the vicinity of the courthouse, even in death. Makes you wonder if "Project Justice" has a point, though I suppose we'll learn more about them in further cases.
It was a great case, and I really enjoyed it. Looking forwards to case 2!

Now that I've turned 30 today, I felt it would be a good idea to give all of you a present and say that Case 2's title will be...

The Princess and the Turnabout. A trial only case with Phoenix Wright being the playable character.
Image

Her former legal assistant Maya Fey will also be there as his assistant.
Image

I'll let out little tidbits of information here and there. The defendant of the second case will be...

Image

Princess Kristal Jewel. Aged only seven years old, she's the youngest defendant to be charged of murder in the game.
Spoiler : Why? :
Requested by a close friend, Phoenix and Maya (tagging along for the ride) travel to England to represent Princess Kristal. Only it wasn't for murder, it was something else. A huge case of morals await them in this case for England's future.
There will be more coming down the road and I'm nearly finished the first draft of Trial Former.

I'll reveal another character at Halloween.

Did some polishing for Trial Former, it should be up to standard now. The same treatment will apply for Trial Latter over the next few days.
