Yeah, that was funny. xD Again, I like to think of the movie more as a comedy than an action/adventure movie...

A. IMO, after he found out the cup didn't hold water, he probably figured out that Voldemort wanted whoever took the Horcrux to drink out of the lake. Didn't someone say that the potion makes people thirsty? If someone drank the potion, and it made them thirsty, the lake was (My guess) a failsafe.

B. Well he couldn't just let Dumbledore suffer/possible die after what he went through. =P

I just got back from it.
It certainly was interesting, though I felt like dozing off a few times.

Haven't read the books in a while, though. =P

My favorite line:

(Right after Ginny and Harry's kiss scene)

Ron: So, did you and Ginny do it? Hide the book, I mean.

My friend: O_o

Me: THAT WAS INTENTIONAL

I still don't get why Harry A. Thought that the water from the lake would stay in the cup if his magic water didn't and B. Thought AT ALL that it would be a good idea to get ANYWHERE NEAR the lake. Seriously, wtf are they teaching these kids at Hogwarts? xD

Lack of fight scenes and lack of memories was annoying, as said earlier.

Harry's actually really bad at that. I mean, in the fourth book, he decides that leaning over an ominous dish full of swirly white stuff, and then actually TOUCHING it, was a good idea. <_<

Voldemort as well. I mean, he goes through all of the trouble to have Harry win the tournament to bring him to the graveyard with the Portkey, when he could have just had Moody turn Harry's toothbrush or something into a portkey instead. <_<

Read the damn evil overlord list, you morons!

I also really hated the end of the seventh book
Spoiler : :
When Harry beats Voldemort on a mere technicality. D_D
He robbed from the rich, and he gave to the poor
Stood up to the man, and gave him what for
Our love for him now, ain't hard to explain
The hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne

Saw it last night.

It was pretty good, one of the better done films. It was pretty funny, but didn't fit with the book that well. They added in all that crap at the burrow, and missed out a ton of memories. I wanted to see Trelawney, and her job interview XD. Lavender was a very good scary girlfriend though.

Yeaaahh, it wasn't as good as Prisoner of Askaban, Which is my favourite, but it's probably second or third.

Spoiler : Major spoilers, Book 7 :
And seriously, how many last-minute story elements could Book 7 just bomb in there? Like seriously...
  • Dumbledore- "Harry, it's Dumbledore. You're dead, but not permanently, okay? Now Voldemort has a bunch of miscellaneous objects keeping him alive, Harry. Oh, and you'll have to learn the secrets of a pointless kid's tale and my late gay lover to understand it all. Got any more McGuffins you'd like me to throw in there?"
  • Harry- "No, no, I'm all good. Thanks."
  • Dumbledore- "Oh, by the way, Neville and all the other wizards nobody cares about are being totally badass right now without you."
  • Harry- "What? That's nonsense! ...Oh well, I guess some of them are kinda cool. Like the Weasley Twins."
  • Dumbledore- "Oh, one of them died."
  • Harry- "DAMMIT! And Snape just died too... ALL the good characters are dying!"
  • Dumbledore- "Oh, no, actually, Draco survives..."
  • Harry- "Oh? Well I guess that's better than nothing..."
  • Dumbledore- "Yep, he pussies out, marries his only fangirl, and stops trying to do anything worthwhile, basically..."
    Harry- "...Brilliant. -_-"

It is going to be split into 2 parts, apparently. Though they'd have to be LotR-length to get everything in there.

Spoiler : :
Ah, that too. And that's pretty integral to the plot of the next book.

Also, the Burrow randomly burned down, but the heroes spend some time there in the next book.

They also had Luna rescue harry from the train rather than Tonks, so it doesn't draw attention to patronuses being used as messengers. That's not so important, though, and it did enhance Luna's apparent ditziness but actual correctness.

They're going to have to mess up the next book a fair amount...

When I went in to watch the latest Harry Potter movie, I threw out everything I remembered about the book, because comparing the movie to the book just results in me not enjoying the movie.

Therefore, as a movie, I feel that Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was really well done. The main point of the movie was the character development of all the main characters in the series, and in that respect, it did so pretty damn well.

That being said, I really do wish they had developed Voldemort a little better by including at least a few more memories.

Other than that, it was fairly spectacular.

Yeah, I try to think of the books and the movies as two separate entities. >_>

Everyone who compares the books to the movies is an idiot.

That said...

WHY DIDN'T SNAPE SAY 'DON'T CALL ME A COWARD'
AND THEY CUT OUT SANGUINI'S SCENE. ANGRY FANGIRL IS ANGRY.

I SAW IT AT THE MIDNIGHT RELEASE

Other than that, I was happy. Snape looked as wonderful and sexy as ever. So I was happy.

And it was really funny.
