So, anyone else see the Harry Potter movie?

Post by Forcemaster »

I thought it was pretty good. Not very much action in it, but it was a pretty dull book (action-wise) to begin with. Having to sit in the front and having thirty obnoxious fifth grade dorks in front of you (I hate kids...) kind of ruined it for me, though. =/

They made retarded jokes throughout the entire last three scenes of the movie! And then they acted like psychos the entire busride back! I literally shoved about ten of them out of the way just so that I could get out of that goddamn bus. ._.

Anyone else have comments?

I was gonna go see it at midnight with friends when it was first shown over here, but no ride :( . I'm not really a fan of the series anyway so I guess I'm not missing much.

YESYESYES IT HAS A TOPIC NOW

It was pretty...good, as being a movie.
As for being true to the book...meh.
I was disappointed at the lack of Pensieve scenes, as well as the appearences of Bill and Fleur, which, I was really looking forward to. And, they completely cut out the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, and then added that crappy battle at the Burrow, which made me cry.
They cut out the parts about Tonks and Lupin and the lack of funeral and Cormac McLaggen playing Quidditch. I also didn't like how they approached Ginny and Harry's kiss either.

BTW, DID YOU KNOW THAT WHEN THEY LEFT THE THREE BROOMSTICKS, HERMIONE WAS DRUNK?!?!

The movie was HILARIOUS.
...For all the wrong reasons. The lines were funny too, though. =P

Yeah, the movie didn't follow the book at all. I was disappointed at the lack of fight scenes too, especially the ending. My bars were raised after the fire thing.

And I xD'd at Hermione.

Is it okay if I regard HBP as more of a comedy than a serious movie? >_>
...Although, I got scared at that water scene. >_<

The water scene didn't scare me too much. (You're talking about the Inferi scene, right?)
I was too busy crying at how Harry had to keep giving Dumbledore the potion.
(Does anybody know what that potion does, btw?)

I only remembered the potion after watching the new Bum Review of the movie. I found that scene unbearable in the book for some reason, and I can't remember what it does.

...yeah, I wanna see it.

Well, specifically the part where the hand shoots up and grabs Harry.
But man, those fires were amazing.

Spoiler : The potion... :
I haven't seen the movie, but I've read the book so spoilers don't really bother me. If I remember correctly, the potion did something to weaken and wound Dumbledore in a magical way (like... it poisoned his life-force or something weird like that...) Hence, Dumbledore may have died even without the help of certain flashy lethal curse effects...

I looked it up and, the potion causes fear and delirium, makes you relive your worst memory, and then, it makes you extremely thirsty, so you'd have to get water from the lake and...you can probably guess the rest.

AND THEN A SKELETON HAND SHOOTS OUT AND GRABS YOU, ACCOMPANIED WITH A SHARP STACCATO OF A MUSIC TO MAKE YOU SCARED, WHICH EVERYONE EXPECTED. BUT IT STILL CATCHES YOU ANYWAY.

It made him remember
Spoiler : :
When Grindelwald killed his sister, IIRC
Haven't read the books in a while, though. =P

My favorite line:

(Right after Ginny and Harry's kiss scene)

Ron: So, did you and Ginny do it? Hide the book, I mean.

My friend: O_o

Me: THAT WAS INTENTIONAL

I still don't get why Harry A. Thought that the water from the lake would stay in the cup if his magic water didn't and B. Thought AT ALL that it would be a good idea to get ANYWHERE NEAR the lake. Seriously, wtf are they teaching these kids at Hogwarts? xD

Lack of fight scenes and lack of memories was annoying, as said earlier.
