Your Newbie Days
How were your days of being a newbie like? From using the trial editor to being well-known by other members, to being famous lurkers only to pop up on occasional. Tell AAO all about your experience as a newbie, recent or old.

Re: Your Newbie Days
Uh...I made my account in '09 and I never used it. I don't have any idea when I became a regular.
I started off commenting on the trials section and other random stuff, made a bunch of failed experiments in the trial editor, then I moved up to making my own case and that went pretty well.
So yeah, I think the new times were pretty good times.

Re: Your Newbie Days
Well, my first year on AAO I logged on maybe three or four times and never posted. Then I started posting in Comments and Ideas, then I started playing Guess the Next Poster and the second TBP, and... It went from there, really. As for trials, I think the same is true of me as almost everyone else- horrible planning, out-of-characterness, and not being able to do much with the editor. I think the first one I tried to make was something about Luke Atmey being murdered... Yeah, I dunno. Good times, good times.

Re: Your Newbie Days
When I joined back in July, I first tried to make a trial to test my skills, which I titled "Turnabout Shock", and it didn't work, which I later discovered it was cuz I don't have firefox, so I stopped going on for a bit, then I went on and found the forums. I played some forum games mainly, then I tried to make sprites. They, well...failed. HARD. And Tap was getting pissed at me for starting two threads and double posting and stuff for my art. Yeah, I was a total noob. I finally learned after that, and updated my art thread with like three sprites each day. After that, I started running out of ideas, starting writing Pride and Redemption, and the rest is history.

Re: Your Newbie Days
I still consider myself one, and likely will until Redeemer - my next serious trial - comes out.
I'm pretty sure I started on Escape From The Turnabout very swiftly after registering. It didn't take me long because I already had most of it written down, and I started work on Bloodlines shortly after it's release, so... Redeemer will be the first trial I start working on while considering myself experienced.

Re: Your Newbie Days
Hmm...
I still remember how I found it:
One day, I was randomly browsing the GameFAQs archives (stupid, I know). I saw AAO's URL in someone's sig, and it said, "Make your own cases in http://aceattorney.sparklin.org/!
Back then, I was hesitant to click. I thought, "It probably isn't as good as he/she makes it seem, anyway." In the end, though, I decided it wouldn't hurt to have a look.
A decision I never regretted.
Imagine, though - What if I never clicked on that link? Would I ever have found this place then? It scares me that I might never have found it in the first place. >.>
That said, I still consider myself a newbie. I've created several trials since then, none of them very good... In September, I eventually started spriting, hesitantly at first, but started taking bigger challenges...
Ah... Good times.

I joined, and converted the SotT script I had laying around into a trial. Then it got voted Best Serious Trial of All-Time.

Re: Your Newbie Days
Found this place through court records, introduced myself, begun to make a horrendous trial, had a power cut deleting my work, cried, got in an argument I was ridiculously right in and felt the rage of my opponent building, made some horrendous trials, made some unfinished trials, left for a million years for no reason, came back, wrote this.
Super amazing set by Sakuya.

Re: Your Newbie Days
Uh, I'm pretty much the same as when I first joined. I got here by searching for case makers seeing as the one I had was discontinued. I made a quick trial, made some sprites, you know. I started to post more, but mostly in the Art forum. I began to post more after I joined an RP, because that drew my attention to General Chat. I made some more sprites and here I am.
I make stuff sometimes

Re: Your Newbie Days
My first post was to make my art thread, of course. At the beginning I only posted to art section for but after some time I began to post here in GC occasionally as well.
I still think myself as a newbie since I've been here only a few months and I don't have that many posts...
Speaking of which my next post is going to be my 400th~!
