I'm not sure why, but I always get really annoyed when people say Dr Who as opposed to Doctor Who. Dr refers to medical practitioners; Doctor is the CHARACTER'S NAME. Calling it Dr Who shows you don't understand the relevance of the title! GET IT RIGHT!

Actually, that's part of why he calls himself that, and why it was such a big deal that someone thought doctor meant warrior. Furthermore, "doctor" can refer to anyone with a doctorate in any profession. But yes, I suppose it could annoy. It just... idk, I don't hate it as much as other fans do.

Hey. I call some of my favorite games stuff like Kicarus and Tasty Bisque. Abbreviations are abbreviations. They're insignificant. And if I wanna call it DR. Who, I'm gonna do that. Because it makes sense and it's less of a hassle than writing out "Doctor," and if you say it out loud it sounds exactly the same.

It's not like I could run up to The Dr. and call him "Dr." and he'd be like "NO you CLOD it's DOCTOR"

Actually, it a.) depends on the doctor, and b.) we're assuming the doctor can't read spoken word. Which the tardis might translate.
