Anyone have any tips to keep awake?

Message par Rtaos Grimm » Ven Mai 03, 2013 1:23 am

I want to keep working but I am extremely tired, anyone have any tips for keeping awake? I miss when I had insomnia.

And don't say coffee, it's too obvious.

Te-*shot*

But you honestly shouldn't try to stay awake. That's just bad for you. But if you must, 5 hour energies might do the trick.

Thank you for your concern, I am aware going without sleep is bad for me but it doesn't matter to me.

There's work to do after all.

Workaholics generally don't have a happy life. Crunching at any period of time (especially) night doesn't make you efficient and I strongly advise that you get some rest now and then. Your brain shouldn't always be on high-function mode all the time.

You should be knowing how to prioritize and managing your time. Set goals for yourself for the day, and once you finish setting those goals, don't work on whatever you're working on anymore until the next day.

Apples are a pretty good energy booster for the mornings. Napping for 30 minutes (optimal time for napping) will leave your brain reenergized and refreshed for the rest of the day.

TAKE A BREAK and do something to get your body warmed up.

That's just the few tips I can give you.

First of all: I try to prioritise, I love it. But unfortunately sometimes I don't have enough time to finish those tasks, drives me mad when a day goes slowly, then you start working on a big project, you type three lines and what the hell just happened: two bloody hours just went by!

I hate apples, don't like the taste. I can't do naps, my internal clock is broken so when I try to nap, 10 blooming hours go by.

That break idea is good though I'll try that. Cheers, anyone else?

-If you don't have enough time to finish tasks, then it shows you haven't really prioritized your time at all.

-Another substitute for apples is usually bananas.

Also, the internal clock just seems like an excuse...Alarm clocks exist for a reason ;)

I don't like bananas either. And I sleep through the alarm clock if it goes off too early.

Have you got anything else that's high in energy and doesn't taste like fruit?

-A granola bar.

-That's still making excuses dude :/
Then simply set the time so it doesn't get off too early. You can make a series of alarms if you have so low a willpower to get up. In addition, the best way to get up from an alarm is to put it away from enough a distance to where you need to get up to shut off the alarm.

If all you have to worry about is making a trial, then surely you can work on forming some new good habits.

Granola! Of course I completely forgot! Thanks Putin, you've made my night.

EDIT: Yeah me again, turns out they were all eaten yesterday, typical...

You should be chugging water too, when it comes to drink.

Drink espresso (or coffee of your choice, espresso is faster), then get an alarm clock and sleep for 15 minutes immediately after drinking the coffee. Losing 15 minutes and then being alert for the rest of the time is better than working half asleep.
