Contest of September/October 2008: Finished Trials Thread

Post by NatLazy »

Hello Again, this time I'm welcoming you to the finished trials portion of the contest!

Of course it is within this thread I ask that you place your completed works.

As for how the voting will go for this round, any trials placed within the doors of this thread will be open to be voted upon on October 14, 2008 at 6:00PM EST.

Voting shall close October 26, 2008 at 7:00PM EST.

In the event that there is a repeat of the last contest and only one person enters, then this whole voting thing shall be closed.
More details on voting shall be revealed when the date is nearer.

Of course I encourage all participants to 'break a leg'!

This is my trial. It's split in two parts (investigation and trial) and the second part is a little longer than the frame limit, but I hope it's okay! :D

Part One: Investigation
Part Two: Trial

Please tell me if there are any bugs.

The only bug I found in either one of these trials was in Jibber's. In the second part when you go to select who owns the Calc notes, Edgy and the Professor's answers are switched. (like you click Edgy's name and get the Professors answers and vice versa)

Other than that, nice job both of you!

An updated reminder to the remaining participants that the last day Trials will be accepted will be October 18, 2008. At that time, judging/voting will begin!

Sorry this is late guys, but here it is any ways:

Contest entries will no longer be accepted past this post.

Voting will open shortly.

I believe I'll make a poll, and then y'all can vote for which ever trial you feel is better.

What are you looking for when voting?
You are looking for how playable the trial is, how difficult it is, is it amusing to play and is it confusing. Please play through alll the trials prior to voting and in a weeks time, the winner shall be decided.

Good luck to the contestants!

Oh my god, there are only two entries, and one of them is mine, lol.

I can't believe that people couldn't finish this: I finished mine, with two weeks to spare, and two weeks with no internet in the middle!

Lazy people...

I'm not lazy. T_T I've had work overload, plus I've been trying to get my OCs to be finished before I do so. I'm really excited about constructing a storyline for them.

Force, I believe that was one of the rules...
Other thread, FIRST POST! wrote: Completed Trials I will ask to be placed in a thread I shall create aptly named: Contest of September/October 2008: Finished cases!
Where I was referring to this very thread.

It was a very funny trial though. :)

This is a joke review:
LYNCH VOTE: RANDOMJIBBERISH!

Simon: That trial was absolutely horrid.

Waldorf: On a scale of 1-10, I give this trial a 1.

Statler: I give it a B.

Waldorf: That's not on a scale of 1-10.

Statler: Neither was this trial!

Simon, Statler, and Waldorf: DOH HO HO HO HO HO!
This is the real review:
My joking aside, I really liked the trial a lot. Video game references, breaking the fourth wall, etc. And extra points for Edgeworth. However, it seems Ema was a tad off character, and a lot of exploration and presenting and probing was left out, which makes AA games very enjoyable. Phoenix appears at the end much like Tom Sawyer in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn: Out of nowhere, and it makes no sense. Furthermore, everything seemed to move so quickly, and there was barely any interaction with the characters. But a redeeming quality was original sprites of not only characters, but evidence as well.

My final grade:

5/10
EDIT: Never mind. The computer finally loaded Ishio's trial perfectly, and it's better than it was when it was...partially loaded... I may or may not recant my vote.

EDIT 2: Sorry, I lowered the grade. It was too biased...Impartially, this is about a five, and the bulk of the grade is for the time and dedication of the OCs and created backgrounds.
