What are the rules for bad language in trials?
I've been wondering... What's the general rules about swear words and bad language in trials? Is it completely forbidden to use any language? Is it free-for-all, say whatever you want? Or is there some kind of limit on which words you can/can't use, and how often?
I ask because in my current trial I have a somewhat younger Jake Marshall, still in his prime and not quite as stoic yet, and I have him saying the "kiddygarten swear words" like "damn" and "hell" frequently. Plus, I've had moments when writing where certain lighter swears seem incredibly appropriate (ex. one of those ".........Shit." moments before everything goes up in flames.)

Re: Language in trials
We are talking about a game series where people are murdered on a daily basis, I think that light cussing needs no warning.

Re: Language in trials
Swearing is all right if it's moderate
As long as it follows the rules, that means nothing too "explicit"
Damn and Hell are all right, of course

What?! Kids shouldn't use that language at such a young age! They shouldn't know any swear words at all until their at least eight! And even if they do find out about them, they would overhear it from a sibling or friend.okappa wrote:I have him saying the "kiddygarten swear words" like "damn" and "hell" frequently.
Damn and hell aren't even considered swear words in Britain, so it's not really a problem.

Really? Then Britain is much more mature than America.

Britain's really relaxed about swearing.

Maybe in your area. Only the teenagers swear in my area and then they stop when they're older.RandomJibberish wrote:Britain's really relaxed about swearing.

...Well...Damn and hell aren't exactly horrible in the US either, I don't think "Hell" even qualifies as a swear word It's totally religious.
Damn is too, though, and it's more noticed............*Refrains from saying that religion is dumb because it comes up with new swear words but totally fails at not implying anything*
