How do you stop external sounds?

How do you stop external sounds on the editor?

I tried using the regular stop function, and it doesn't work.

If you can't, how do you add external sounds to music?

You can't stop sounds. You can only stop music.

Sound effects are supposed to be short enough to be instantaneous.
Currently working on a redesign of Court-records.net.

Then how do I use external music that can be stopped?

EDIT: Oops. I just realized there was an external music button on soundtrack.
