Narokh's humble Sprites

Post by Narokh »

Hey everybody, I recently finished creating my first case and am now attempting to do some custom sprites for the OCs I used.
I have near to none experience in spriting / sprite editing, so it's nothing that great really. But I thought I'd share what I've got so far.
Just don't expect anything too great. :ron:

Matt Silver - Based on Phoenix Wright, with different mouth, eyes and hair
Turned out o.k. I think.

I actually like this one, even if the hair is a bit wonky. Interestingly enough, the guy that I got killed in my first case is much more fun to work with than the main OC. :side:

Ahh.. If you changed James' hair, I think it would look a bit better.
Edit: I mean hair colour*
Frachement, ma cherie...

Slightly changed James' hair in the court version, to better match with the frontal view.

I've tried out a few different colors, but those didn't really look good. I understand that a different color scheme for his hair would help distinguish him more from the original Klavier sprite, but currently I can't find any decent looking colors.

There's not really much of him yet, except for a simple blinking animation. That's barely more than my avatar, so I figured I'd wait untill I can actually make some more decent ones for him.

Hey, about Matt Silver; was the name based off Ethan Frome?

Nope, never heard of it before - had to google it to know what you mean.
I came up with the name more or less randomly, so it's only a coincidence.

Added two new animations for the "thinking" pose. I'm quite happy how those turned out.
The talking animation isn't blinking though - it didn't look good with only half-opened eyes to begin with so I decided to leave it out.

Yeah, I'm a lazy bum still getting into sprite editing, and this seemed like a bothersome detail that would even take more time to finish each sprite/animation. Mostly, they actually don't move that much on the original sprites, so I thought it wouldn't be too grave.

I might adjust the jaws later though.

HTey move one pixel in the original games, ut it makes all the difference

It's a phoenix base, so you could just copy the frames of phoenix's talk across...

Behold the moving jaws of dooooooom!
Seriously, now that you mentioned it Jibber, it started to bug me. So I changed it.

I also edited James' frontal view sprite, so his neck doesn't appear to get thinner downwards.

I like it, but the jaw seems to be moving faster than his mouth.
