MilesEdgey here and today I have started to create my very own music. At first I started playing around with the program but as time went on, I decided to create my own original music that can be potentially used for future comedies. Please remember that these are my first ever pieces of "synthetic" music that I've composed.
I don't create these music pieces from scratch, but I use pre-made tracks and instruments and I edit them accordingly. You may have noticed that the pieces are incredibly short; that is because they have been made to loop over and over again in the player.
So far, I have the following pieces of work available...
Spoiler : Questioning :
Questioning - Moderato 2011: Remaking in progress...
My first real piece. It's meant to be used for witness testimonies and cross-examinations.
Questioning - Allegro 2011: Remaking in progress...
A sped up version of the first piece, hence the name "allegro"
Questioning - Objection 2011: Remaking in progress...
The objection theme for "Questioning", I decided to take a rock approach to this piece. It's a bit slow, in my opinon...
Questioning - Cornered 2011: Remaking in progress...
The cornered theme for "Questioning", a fast track with a mixture of drums, guitars and piano.
Not bad!
Moderato could maybe use some variation or something? To me it sounds more fitting for an investigation.
Objection, yeah, it could use a faster tempo.
Cornered is probably my favourite.
Great to see you trying your hand at music composing!! My first degree in in music, and composing is my favourite aspect of it, so I'm glad to see others here trying that, instead of the usual sprite work.
Not bad for your first try! It definitely has a different style to it for sure; it wouldn't work for Phoenix, for example, but if you had a sort of darker more sinister character that you were playing (Manfred von Karma?) it might work better. For the questioning one, why don't you try changing the chords every few bars? It would certainly add to it. And yeah, up the tempo on Objection for sure.
Either way, you've got something usable. Sorry, no time for more feedback. Keep it up!! It's very rewarding.
Miles, I like how you and I have the paper mario theme going on here, haha!
That's cool, I didn't know about that site. I love learning about new music-creation programs, especially if they are free... I love to compose music, but good sounds are really expensive, so finding various tools is always nice.
So I'm assuming that you are using their audio creator, that lets you select loops and such to put together?
I use several different programs actually. I use the audio editor and the music creator. I also use Audacity and Mixcraft 5. And yes, Paper Mario for the win!

You're tempting me to use a Paper Mario avatar. XD

I think I'll try my hand at Sibelius for now. Since my musical knowledge is fail, I'll take it one step at a time. I'm more of remixing MIDI's on Fruity Loops anyway.
