Brickster's Art!

Post by BricksterAceAttorney »

Well, looks like I finally decided that I wanted to make an art thread.
Woot! :pearlhappy:

This is the first time i've made an art thread, and most of these works are "unique" to say the least.

But first; the ever-common must-do: Older Peal using Iris as a base.
Image

Oh, please read and obey my rules, even if they are the same as the normal art thread rules;
Please do not steal these, and if you see anyone who has, alert me and/or a mod. People who MAY use these (apart from myself, duh) will be listed at the bottom of this thread.
I do not take normal spriting requests, since I'm not that good at it. However, some in my style (see my sprites below) MAY be within my abilities. I am under no obligation to make any sprites.
Feel free to give me suggestions or tips~
etc~

Okay, moving on to my other works. These took a long time to make, and these are, I believe, the first of their kind on AAO. These will be featured in my third trial "Turnabout Engineer" (the first and second are "Lights, Camera, Turnabout - on hold until my request for a Lisa Basil breakdown is completed).
So, without further ado, he they are;

Um... Original. ^^''

I can only give you crit on the Pearl sprite, though (seeing as I don't know about Lego spriting...)

Well... let's start with the file formatting. You should remember to save all sprites that are unanimated as .png files. Also, the hair looks rather odd to me... You might want to take a look at that.

And while you're correcting it, have a look at the shading on her left shoulder (right for us). Some of the shading there miraculously transformed into non-shading.

Overall, it doesn't look as though it would be Pearl... but still. As a sprite, it's pretty good for a start.

I apologize if this sounds like brainless fanboyism that is unhelpful critique.

BUT THOSE LEGO SPRITES ARE JUST TOO FREAKING COOL!!!!!!!!

So, Old!Pearl's your first sprite, I assume? It's pretty good! A few points:
-There are a few pixels on her hair that stand out
-Her neck's outline looks a little...odd
-As Dypo said, the shading on the shoulder does need a little work
Still, pretty good first try! You recolored the body very well!

LEGOS OHMIGOD WIN! I am quite the Lego enthusiast myself, so this is just WIN for me. *thumbs up in approval*

I see what you mean about the neck and stuff. Thing is though, I didn't have much of a plan to do any further work on the Olderpearl sprite (which is actually something like my fourth sprite, but my second ace attorney one). I only put her up there as sort of a "starting point". So, it should stay as is - though Imight put it in a "prototype" spoiler if I do fic her up.

Also, I'm surprised by the positive response for the LEGO. Thanks~
(note to self: send these guys the completed trial)

YES! I knew I might end up starting something with these guys! If only I could get those Heroes to have animated mouths Turnabout Engineer would be perfect. But sadly I can't (too many shades of blue)

Hey, is it possible to make the legos blink, too? That'd be awesome if so...

I believe it is possible via the normal methods for making a sprite blink - but sadly I don't really know how to do that, especially when most of them have dot eyes.
EDIT: Also, how do you like my new avi? It's part of my first AA sprite.

EDIT 2: Well, here's a first attempt at a blinking minifig. Downside about it is that due to the amount of yellows, it now looks like he getsd a black eye.

Legal double post! And the first post of the year in this thread.
In school I made a couple more GIFs, this time using the hero of Turnabout Engineer, Marcan Miwards. However, they are not the right size since I did not have the original sprites with me at school when I made these.
EDIT: The sprites don't seem to want to work for some reason, so forgive me but I've removed them.

EDIT 2: :holdit:
I was actually able to make new Marcan sprites for you all. Here he is;

Another legal double post. It's a pity I don't get many reviews here, but...

Okay, I know I am not that good at making proper AA sprites, but here's a little something I made before. She's about 200 years old and knows how to balance justice.

The New Brickster Art

Post by BricksterAceAttorney »

Well, unlike Turnabout Bricks, I don't think my old art thread should be bumped. If I can ever find it again I'll delete it. Anyway, welcome to my art thread. As I have already demonstrated, my newfound forte is lego animating. I'll only be uploading the things I've made that are AA related and from June 2012 onwards. You're welcome to use the images with credit, although I doubt anyone WOULD use minifigures in a non-lego trial, unless one were making a cross-dimensional tri---oooh...idea...

Ahem! Anyway, let's get going!

Sorry, per 'Your Art' rules, I've merged the two sprite threads together. As our little forum here becomes substantially more active everyday, it's a good thing to have things organised and not cluttered around. :wink:
