BTW, I don't know why you can't just use Paint to recolour... much easier than GIMP in my opinion.

No, here's what I do.

I select the colour I want in the primary colour box, and the colour I'm replacing in the secondary one. Then I use the select tool, and drag a box around my image. I then press ctrl + x, and the image disappears, leaving the colour I'm replacing in it's place. Use the paint bucket tool and turn that colour into the one you want. Then paste the image, align the corners, and you're set!
