Thnx man, it's all starting to make sense now.
Logic and trick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2MpRYiY-9s
Tell the truth 2011: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2UGqRja6Ro
Objection number 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LW5NXHtd8ng
Now that i know about those major and minor scales, i feel much more in control. But i'm still not sure if these songs have the right feelings in them. I think i'm getting close though.

Alright, these are REALLY good. My only comment is that I don't really like how 8-bit they sound, and I prefer whatever program you used for the first ones.
Just my two cents.

Re: Ace Attorney 2011 Soundtrack
It looks like you've improved the way you want to give the proper feeling to the player
Logic and Trick
I like how you took the first measure of the original Logic n' Trick xD
But the song in overall is quite good, it gives the right feeling and doesn't sound too repetitive. The only concern I have with it are the drums part. When the snare drum and the hit-hat come in, I'd rather have the rythm to half its speed That is, where the current rythm makes 2 measures, the new one would make only 1. That way you don't speed-up the music too much.
Here's how I would put it. (1 hit 2x slower)
Bass drum - Nothing - Snare with fading echo (during the whole measure) - Repeat the thing
Tell the Truth 2011
I like how you broke the usual melody of the TtT/AtT tracks without breaking the actual structure. I always love the 0:38 part in every single Announce the Truth. (You took exactly the one from AA1 but oh well, it still fits)
(For those who wonder what I mean with that part:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qq7BtdA0eg : 0:26
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k70--ZllmBo : 0:32
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6mPn66KkPk : 0:44
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58uoTlVgRNU : APOLLO JUSTICE IS WEIRD. IT DOESN'T HAVE IT
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz0IgN_MfmI : 0:47)
(By the way I love the last one's fragment, it really makes it sound epic)
Structurally you respect the AA patterns which is good and makes the tracks recognizeable
For the rest of the song I think it's good, maybe a bit quiet and with few instruments, but it's always better to keep tracks quieter than louder, trust me. You do not wanna fill your track with a thousand instruments.
Objection 2011
I have to say that I really like this one. The key you've choosen and the bass track are just perfect. You've just caught the exact right feeling an Objection! should give! I really like the part from 1:04, specially the high track going in the background. I do that a lot and it adds a lot to the track. The choice of the instruments is very good in my opinion, and I like the melody too.
You are doing a great job and I see much improvement here. Keep it up!

@EleventhSpade; It's coming. I'm going to finish this project in 8-bit. After that, i'll be emulating the AAI sound and style. I'm going to have to level up quite a bit for that though.
@Daniel, thanks again. Yeah i stole the first 3 or 4 notes from the original Logic and Trick. It just sounds so perfect, i couldn't resist.
I don't understand what you're saying regarding the drums though. I'll try a few things and upload it tomorrow.
About the Announce the Truth theme, do you think it's too quiet? I felt that the climax didn't have enough power in it, but i didn't want to overdo it with the instruments like you said.
By the way, can you recommend me a Key for the Pursuit ~ Cornered and the Court Begins theme? I really want to do something epic for those 2 themes, as they are my favorite kind of songs, but i can't get anything going.

Re: Ace Attorney 2011 Soundtrack
It all depends on the melodyTwoSixty wrote:By the way, can you recommend me a Key for the Pursuit ~ Cornered and the Court Begins theme? I really want to do something epic for those 2 themes, as they are my favorite kind of songs, but i can't get anything going.
The best key in my opinion for a trial theme is the one used in JFA, T&T, AJ and your old trial one
That'd be D minor, but it would be hard to make something really different out of it.
In fact you can choose any key you'd like to go with, it's up to the melody itself.
If you want to make something fresh here are all the keys used in the trial themes:
PW1: I didn't get this one, sorry
JFA: D minor
T&T: D minor
AJ: D minor
AAI: F minor/A# minor
I recommend you to choose something like...
A,C,D, or G minor. In any case, take a minor key, major ones don't fit for trial themes.
Also, for the cornered ones I don't have any specific recommendations since that one can vary a lot, it's up to you to decide something suitable for your melody. All I can do is let you the keys of the AA ones to let you compare and see what you'd like to do
PW1: F minor
JFA: C minor
T&T: C minor
AJ: F minor
AAI: E minor/D minor (I personally love this change of key)
GK2: F minor
Hope it helps
Re: Ace Attorney 2011 Soundtrack
Aah, now i get it. I forgot all about the minor keys. There's just so many options, i get lost sometimes.
And yeah, you're helping. I'm learning so much, thanks.
Here's a Pursuit theme. It's still a rough version, there's a lot of stuff i want to add and change, but i'd like to know if i'm going in the right direction.

For the most part good, but it also feels cluttered and slow. Fix these issues and you're golden.

Re: Ace Attorney 2011 Soundtrack
I like it, it's well put Of course there are some things that could be corrected.
You could add some low instrument from 0:26 and a different bass melody from there or something.
Also I don't really like the part from 1:00.
The change of key is okay, but I just feel like, aside from the notes going up, you made the absolute pitch raise a little bit progressively, because there are some dissonances not caused by a wrong choice of notes I don't know how that could be solved.

Hmmm, I don't like how 8 bit it sounds. I also don't really feel a "focus" to the song, if that makes sense.

Re: Ace Attorney 2011 Soundtrack
You mean for example you wouldn't be able to sing it even while listening to it, right?
Probably you mean there's no precise melody in the theme.

Re: Ace Attorney 2011 Soundtrack
Yeah, it just sounds really random and a bit noisy to me, and without direction. I think it just needs some refining or maybe a makeover. You want pursuit themes to be clear and catchy.
Re: Ace Attorney 2011 Soundtrack
I see what you guys mean, thanks. I'm putting the pursuit theme on hold for now. I think i'm going to change the EQ, and adjust the melodies.
At 1:00 i did change the pitch, but i didn't want it to progressively raise itself, that was a mistake on my part.
In the meantime, i've been working on the Court begins themes. I don't think it's going too well.
Here's a completely new one. I really don't know how i feel about this one. I guess i'm trying to hard, i don't know.

And here's a remixed version of my first court begins theme. I tried to take into account the issues in the construction of the song and the amount of instruments, as you guys have addressed. However, yet again, i have mixed feelings.

Re: Ace Attorney 2011 Soundtrack
I actually like them both.
The remix of the original is better in my opinion, though.
