Yay! Front sprite as well! Now, when will I ever need this? Keh keh keh...
Woah, that's pretty impressive. I can't even tell what most of the bases are. I can tell what some of them are, but that isn't the important thing. The important thing is that your base isn't the first thing that comes to mind.

I'm glad my guide helped you.
Why thank you. I'm really glad that you like it considering you're the genius behind this guide.and the mastermind behind the newest, awesome addition to the random characters thread.
Anyway, now that part two's out I'll have to go read it! :nod:
Spoiler : Also, here's the bases :
Head=Bellboy
Mouth=Portsman
Hair=Sahwit
Eyes=Naitou
Eyebrows=Larry
Nose=Akbey Hicks
Collar=Phoenix
Body= Grey
Buttons=Bell boy
Arms=Letouse.
Edit: Also, here's a damage sprite.

(Yes, it's supposed to look super comical.)

Well, Grey IS one of the only suit choices. :P Still, I'm glad that you didn't manage to get the majority of them.

Looking at most of your sprites, most of them really only need a few tweaks here and there to look more original.

By the way, it would really help if you edited your first page to contain all your sprites.

Lind, I don't care if you work on my request for months right now.

Make more O.O

Maybe you could talk more in-depth about the eyes(i.e, how to take two different eye bases and fuse it into a normal looking eye, the difference between a feminine eye and a masculine one etc.). I know it'd be helpful to me, at least.

Your next sprite will take a while anyway, it's hard finding natural-looking ways to combine Klavier and Daryan.

An even BETTER excuse for you to make more! :P

How do you decide which bases to use? Do you just think about which ones would look good beforehand and hope for the best?

Usually, yes. Although for a lot of the stuff I contributed to the random threads, I just thought about what bases I had never tried before and went about experimenting with them.

A sprite which I did using this tutorial:
Image
(I've used ten bases, the members of the German section guessed nine of them, so it could still be a bit obvious, but in my opinion it's not too much).
This is a nice technique (faster than scratching, and more similar to the AA style), and your tutorial has been very helpful. Thank you!

The only base that really sticks out is Lisa Basil. I have a decent idea to some of the others, but again, all that really matters is that your bases aren't obvious.

And of course, it wasn't really possible to have the scouter-thing without it looking like Lisa Basil anyway, so that doesn't matter.

I'm going to get to work on part 3 now.
