Drey Wilkin's Art Thread (Music)

Well, I deleted my old art thread, and am making this one.

Earlier today, I was using the piano, and came up with a pretty nice tune, so I recorded it on my iPod.

So, because the entire thing is being made up as I go along, there are a few falters and mistakes, and you can hear it when I take a deep breath or push down on the echo pedal.

So... Not completely professional, but the mic quality on the iPod 4G is pretty good.

Anyway: The song is here.

Whoa... you made this up as you went along? It's a bit simple in the beginning, but as you progress it gets really awesome. If you ever record the entire song without mistakes, I think it would be really fitting as a reminiscence theme.

Not bad, not bad at all. Other than the recording quality which you've already stated, I like this piece. Keep them coming.

A nice, melancholy melody. I think it would be a lovely reminiscence theme.

The piece sounds fine, though it is basic and repetitious, staying close to a common chord progression with little rhythmic variation. The length of the piece highlights this lack of development. As it is an improvisation, these are minor issues, but I would recommend reapproaching this framework so as to form it into a more substantial work.

A fine summary, although I don't think I'll really do much with this piece aside from write it down, and format it into a proper song. my biggest issue with it is the absolute lack of variety in the chord progressions. If I post another song up here, it will probably be in a more flowery key, be less repetitious, and have a more sorrowful theme.

I like sad music.
