Oh duh why did I not voice my thoughts here

I said everything I wanted in the Random Characters thread, but those self-sprite WIPs are pretty nice. Keep it up!

I'll add to sleuth's post here i guess.
The start up animations (Deskslam/pocketwatch being taken out animations) LOOK too fast because there's only two frames in both of them.
Try adding frames (For the deskslam the hand slightly moves after it hits the desk, for the pocketwatch add a frame between the first and second frames)

Either way good work!

Startup animations? They are supposed to be fast. If you mean speaking, to put it bluntly, deal with it. He is a proud guy who speaks quickly and loudly. And if you mean clockspin, it doesn't work if slowed down.

The pocketwatch's removal would be better as just one image. That would fix it, right?

Yeah, I see it now... I'll make some fixation.

His hairstyle just happens to be like that. You can see it all. Look at deskslam, headshake and sweating ones, and you can see every single bit of his hairstyle. Not the backside, but this character isn't going to sping right round, so it would be so genius to show it. :|
But thanks for the compliments.
Responding here so as not to clutter the Random Characters thread.

I apologize for phrasing these poorly, as that tends to happen whenever I type things out. I'll try to clarify as best I can what I mean.
Spoiler : :
> I wasn't referring to those, actually, and "slow it down" was really a poor way for me to put it. Again, I apologize. I meant pretty much what Dave said; more buffer frames are needed. AA animations require a little more frames to get the smooth flow that they have. When there aren't enough frames, actions that should be one-time moves (like the taking out the pocketwatch) look as if they're supposed to be repeating movements. Start-up animations are supposed to be fast, yes, but they're primarily transitions into the pose, so they need to hold on that last pose for a bit longer for full effect.... Did that make any sense? I'm sorry if it's not, I'm bad at putting ideas into words. Basically, what Dave said is what I meant.

> Again, this was poor phrasing on my part. The last two sprites (the defeated sprites) were what I was referring to, and I probably said this wrong because I wasn't quite sure WHAT looked "off" about them until just now. What I SHOULD have said is that his bang looks "off" to me... The part of his hair on the viewer right side. Everywhere else it's fine, but there, it looks choppy and sorta breaks the illusion. In fact, on closer inspection, I think the problem is that there's too much hair on that side. If the last bang were to be removed, I think it would fit much better. Am I making any sense?
Okay that's my clarification, which probably didn't clarify anything... If anyone can better convey what I'm trying to say, then please do, I'm terrible at this. Again, sorry for not being better at speak typing.

And yes, I am Dave btw.
Just felt like posting that just in case Dataman wasn't sure who "Dave" was.

Wow, great new sprites, Dataman! And an entire set, too. You're improving greatly through every project; you even got the mouth animations correctly! Great job, keep it up. If you ever need any help or advice, I'll be here :3 (But you seem to be doing fine on your own, it seems >w<.)

I like to scratch sprite. Feel free to ask if you need anything :3
Not very experienced at backgrounds, action shots, nor evidence, but I'd love to try.

Yeah, I'm getting better. Maybe because I'm really enjoying myself spriting ? :pearlhappy:
I don't still get what was the big deal about correct mouth animations, but now I can get feedback from things other than that too. :D

Your face in your sprite looks ultra realistic.
Like the creator of Final Fantasy, I'm better at telling a story.
If you need help animating Ace Attorney sprite sheets, I'm your man.

Yo, I have a request for you if you are willing to do it, my good man. :D
Spoiler : Shaun Wallace :
Well, I would like a prosecutor based on this guy, please. :)
Image

All of the clothes are all black, including the glasses, the shirt, tie and suit, which has no lapels.

The following poses are for the Prosecutor position. I would like:

Normal - stood upright.
Arms folded.
Hands on desk - leant forward
Hand on chin, in a thinking pose.
Strained - Hand on the desk looking annoyed.
Panicked - Similar to strained, except with a more panicked expession and with both hands on the desk.
Smiling - Dark smile, with arms crossed again

If you can do this, I would be eternally grateful. :) Thanks again, whether you can or cannot. ^_^
