MuseScore for notation (the actual composing "work") and SynthFont for post processing (changing instruments and their volume). I also use Audacity to cut off the ends of the songs so it loops better.

Spoiler : If you're taking requests :
Do you think you might be able to do GBA sound quality tunes (detuned in Putin's words) of

Troupe Gramarye
Lamiroir's Theme and
Recollection - A Fate Smeared in Tricks and Gadgets?

Spoiler : Answer :
Unfortunately, I can't really make GBA quality songs, mainly because 1) I don't have the soundfonts for it and 2) Even if I had, I have no idea how a GBA version of these songs would sound like.

Hey, DeeYo. I like your tracks, but they need more variation. Just like what Danielinhoni said, don't stick to the same key chord on tracks and try other instruments to get more "oomph" on your tracks. Good job!

Since your requests are open...
Spoiler : Request? Click. :
Do you think you could create a prologue track for me? I don't know how to put this into words, but I'll do it in the most comprehensive way.

The track starts slow, like a recollection of memories. Track starts to pick up tempo, much like confrontation. Track reaches peak and notes are put on hold, and abruptly ends like that.
So... challenge accepted?

Challenge accepted, but I have to ask you to measure the time of your prologue and tell me when the music should change, because right now I have no idea whether to make the faster part at 0:30 or 4:56. Thanks in advance!
(also, it wouldn't hurt to give me a sneak peek so I can know what's happening)
ALSO legal not double-post: New tracks! I've revamped my cross-examination themes! And one of them isn't in C minor! (this is a huge achievement for me) also i just transposed it using the transpose tool

Spoiler : Challenge accepted? Well then! :
I estimate that the prologue is around a minute or even less (probably 0:30 to 0:55).

As much as possible, the music changes around... I dunno, probably at 0:20 to 0:30. Because, srsly I have yet to script the prologue though. I needed tracks to get the mood of the trial so I can really start my first one.

As for a sneak peek... well, look at my above statement. But it can't hurt to give you a gist of it. I'll PM you for it, I don't want anybody else know about it.
I haven't checked your revamps yet... I'll hear about it.

It sounds too MIDI-ish, instrumentation/sound-wise.

Composition-wise it's not too bad though. What DAW did you use for this?

I use MuseScore for composing and SynthFont for balancing the volumes and stuff.

Ah I see, can you provide a MIDI file (with separate channels for the various notes) of the composition then? I think I can fix the issue with why it sounds too MIDI-ish if you give me the opportunity to check it out ;)
