Re: AAO Sprite Hospital (Searching patients)
oh, i didn't notice the updated Harmon sprite had been added. Thanks!
Re: AAO Sprite Hospital (Searching patients)
So I was curious. Is anyone willing to pick up the Harmon sprites? If not, does anybody know who I could go to to see about getting a commission on them?
Re: AAO Sprite Hospital (Searching patients)
was hoping to get some help fixing up this character. I'm no good with much more than frankenspriting. I've done what I can so far with this and.. well.
I'm surprised I got the arm looking even -remotely- decent even though it still doesn't look that great.. same goes for the back shoulder.
in general for how I'd want some help with touching the character up if anyone's willing to help; close in the top, maybe touch it up to look like a more proper suit but still leaving cleavage visible, and touching up the red bangs on either side so they look a bit more natural? was having a hard time getting them to look right myself and that's the best I could do.
Hopeful this gets picked up, but if not I'll just have to keep working myself until I get it right I guess.

Re: AAO Sprite Hospital (Searching patients)
How would I request help with a sprite from the hospital? I'm working on a set of sprites for a trial I had the idea for, I've only got one done so far, and this is it:
I can't find out a way to remove the whole background color without the rest of the image going all funny, and I don't really know how to animate the sprite like all the rest... Is that a problem? I'm such a noob...

Use something different than MS Paint (The one you usually already have) like GIMP. It's free, and it supports transparency and animations.
I'll show you the results. Also, the closed eyes are, uhn, a bit creepy.
Did you wantedd something like this?
Remember to create blinking frames for the talking sprites next time.

Personally, I recommend Paint.net, due to its simplicity and support for basic necessary features like transparency and layers. Gimp I find to be overly complicated and difficult to get into for a new user.

>"Personally"
Keyword here. Personal preferences are personal preferences. Personally I find that GIMP's huge glob of features has no effect on my ability to sprite. I've created above average quality sprites and animations without GIMP, therefore I don't see learning GIMP as necessary. If you can do the same thing with a simpler interface, a complicated program is unnecessary imo.

Well, personal preferences are personal for a certain reason.

Re: AAO Sprite Hospital (Searching patients)
My sprites are... eh. But I'll say that a good starting point is Paint Tool Sai, blow it up big and draw your base in there, and then shrink it and do the actual sprite in Paint.net. Personally, I think Paint.Net's sprite/pixel tools are just easier to use and better looking. But that's just me.

I don't sprite, but I do do edits, and I like using Paint.NET over Gimp...

Anyways, you're welcome. And... What do you use to make a Sprite Sheet then?
I remember that MS Paint could do that, but... You use GIMP. Another type of programme? [/curios]

Re: AAO Sprite Hospital (Searching patients)
I use gimp and paint. This was my first time making a sprite sheet using gimp- I took one still sprite of Cammy and put it in a blank image, then edited it, then copy and pasted it a few times, then changed the eyes and mouth to make the sprite sheet a sprite sheet and not just six Rachels.Domyce432 wrote:Domyce432 wrote:The user above me needs to cosplay for Laurice Deauxnim's book 'Franzy's Whippity Whip' and his 'Franzy's Whip Lash Splash'.VonKarmaPride wrote:The user above me is making me cringe just by mentioning those foolish names.*ahem*VonKarmaPride wrote:*hugs*

Re: AAO Sprite Hospital (Searching patients)
I have a new patient here. It's Payne with Phoenix's hairstyle. I have the majority of them looking the way I want them to, but one them looks a little off.
The one on the left is fine, but the one on the right looks strange for some reason.
