The Cathedral, Day 0

"They have all been decided then," one of the two priests said. "The Masters of this Holy Grail War have all summoned their servants?"

"Yes, so it seems," the other priest said. "That means that as of now, the Holy Grail War has begun.

The first priest, youthful in appearance with a charming face and neat hair, smiled eerily. "Then the blood shall be shed once more, I assume?"

"Do not be so sadistic," the other priest, an older man with a balding head and a bad hunch, scoffed back. "The war is designed so that the Servants shall be the only ones waging war. There should not be any death amongst the magi."

"Yet there still will be regardless."

"A pessimistic viewpoint, Brother Solomon."

"A realistic viewpoint, Brother Fontleroy." The young priest, Solomon, straightened his robe out and stood closer to the older priest. "So you are the one in charge of supervising this Holy Grail War, are you not?"

The older man, Fontleroy, nodded. "Yes, that is true. I will be the one primarily watching over this war."

"Then it is your responsibility to deal with any unsavory outcomes," Solomon replied. "Given the list of combatants this game...I would not be surprised if 'unsavory' is accurate."

"Not while I am supervising this war," Fontleroy assured him. "Come tomorrow, the war shall be in full blaze. I will see to it that it remains secret to the outside world and that the grail and the Church are not compromised. What they do to each other is little of my concern."

"Very well," Solomon said, heading towards the door to leave. "Just remember..." He smiled from the doorway. "...You never know what may happen in this chaotic world come the new day."
Day 1
It is now the day after you have summoned your servant. Begin your day in the city of Fuyuki, Japan; you do not know the other Masters yet, but fate may draw you together...

MAGE APP
Name: Hoshi Satsuei
Gender/Sex: Female
Age: 18
Nationality: Japanese
Appearance: Image
She's a tad shortish at 5 foot 4. For color references:
Image
Personality: Hoshi tends to be reclusive in general. She goes out and attends school and stuff but she's incredibly antisocial and doesn't like casual conversation, despite the attention she gets from her rather bright appearance. People trying to speak to her generally makes her too nervous to talk or weird them out. She tends to stay in her room most of the day and go on the internet playing games and such instead of interacting in real life. She's a lot more comfortable around home, and she tends to laze around in her room with the lights off for hours. She's a nice girl but she's a bit snappy and sarcastic, and if she's comfortable enough to talk she won't put up with other people's crap. But if you manage to get past both her shyness and her spitfire nature, she's a rather good person. She's a fan of cute things and considers herself a geek, into a lot of gaming and anime culture.
Backstory: Hoshi has never been a very social girl. She tried to be when she was growing up, but she never felt comfortable around others. She eventually decided to just ignore other people all together and do things on her own, not seeing anyone else much at all. She got into anime and gaming from her room, and dyed her hair and bought a lot of cute clothes and trinkets. She eventually moved in to her own apartment to live on her own when she entered college. However, her money-wasting lifestyle made things difficult for her to thrive by herself. Not willing to give up her comfort, she decided she would go the easy route. Having been raised in a family in touch with the magical arts, she knew enough magic to be able to actually participate in the Holy Grail War, which, by jumping through some hoops, she managed to do, and she happened to get lucky enough to summon the Saber class.
Other: She plays an MMO entitled "Legend of the Mighty" where she's one of the most highly renowned players in her community under the username STARChild1.
Motivation: To have enough money to support herself.

SERVANT APP
Class: Saber
Gender/Sex: Male
Age: Seemingly mid-30s.
Appearance: Image
Hair is jet-black. Wears chainmail under his uniform, which consists of a dark blue top, dark gray leggings, a white belt, bandages on his arms and legs, gray socks, and sandals. In public when travelling with Hoshi he'll wear round black sunglasses, a black and gray suit, and have his tied up hair flow down. Stands tall at above 6 feet.
Personality: He's incredibly strict and blunt, but cool and reserved. He only seems to get angry in battle and prefers to keep his cool in most situations, and is know for his no-nonsense attitude. He is very philosophical in nature, and will often speak in proverbs when giving advice, especially towards Hoshi. He's almost like a level-headed mother to her. He's incredibly serious when it comes to battle, and he refuses to allow himself to lose. He respects the art of the duel above all else, and honor is incredibly important to him, which is why he will fight to defend it no matter what. However, he is also rather lax about his appearance at times, and he is incredibly strategic in his methods.
Powers, Items and Abilities: He is seen with two swords sheathed in his belt.
Other: He enjoys art quite a bit, and is a fan of culture in general. Tends to wander off from Hoshi's side a lot.

MAGE APP
Name: Subaru Kobayashi
Gender/Sex: Female
Age: 30
Nationality: Japanese
Appearance: Here's two images, one with glasses, and one without glasses. One important difference: You see the part of her hair that's to the side and is also tied together? Half-way through, it's meant to change to a lighter shade of green. Because more multicolored hair is needed and I will bring about the revolution or something. (Though this is pretty tame, all things considered.)

Personality: To put it bluntly, Subaru is a total geek when it comes to the stock market and trading stocks, to the point of obsession. Rather than holding any sort of full-time job, she instead spends almost all of her time in front of a monitor, observing the goings of the stock market in order to make more money (it's also very fun for her, like a game). In a way, you can describe her as greedy, though in another way, that descriptor would be inaccurate. She desires money as a thing to have rather than a thing to use, and she'd be perfectly happy with gathering a lot of money without ever using it, ever. She lives slightly frugally, though not to an absurd extent. It's best to think of her as someone who thinks for a lot longer than the average person before deciding to buy something.

When it comes to actually talking to other people, Subaru sort of has difficulty seeing people as anything but a threat, at least at first. She's a very cautious person, and she also has a habit of not holding back her opinions on things no matter what the circumstances are. She doesn't want to get too close to anyone due to the possibility that she could die in the Holy Grail War. Subaru spends a lot of her time thinking of random hypothetical situations in her mind and how they'd play out. (Basically she likes to think about how things would be like if a single thing about reality was different, or if a single decision was made differently. Stuff like that)

Subaru has mild Dysthymia, though it really isn't apparent most of the time unless she's under a lot of stress. She prefers to avoid making friends. Her biggest problem with talking to other people is that she doesn't see much point in talking to most people. She feels infinitely more comfortable talking to people online or over the phone, rather than a face-to-face conversations. Subaru comes across as somewhat eccentric (which she encourages in order to weird other people out) but then again, it's sort of hard to be a normal person when you're in the Holy Grail War.

Backstory: Subaru is part of a family that is unafiltiated with the Church or any other major group. You could call them "freelancers", in that case, and those tend to get looked down upon, her family being no exception. Subaru's family doesn't actually sell their magecraft, but most of them don't see much point in researching magecraft further than they already have, which angers a lot of people who study magecraft and see it as something that absolutely must be studied. Mostly they just see it as something that just is and can be used for a wide variety of purposes. Since they don't actively study magecraft much, their skill is less than those of other families. On the flipside, they actually know how to use technology well since they don't rely on magecraft for everything. There are many magi who are utterly clueless about technology, after all. (Looking at you, Rin Tohsaka.)

As for Subaru herself... She's been preparing for the Holy Grail War since she first heard of it. Ever since she was a teenager, when she wasn't studying the stock market, she was studying previous Holy Grail Wars and learning more about them. As an adult now, she's long since moved away from the rest of her family, and devotes a lot of time to either more studying of the Grail War, or stocks. It's pretty easy to say that she has no life.

Subaru doesn't really do the whole "making friends" thing, and all of her knowledge about the Stock Market is stuff that she picked up by herself from other people. She never actually took any classes on it. At the time of the RP, she lives in a rather simple apartment room. Her participation in the Holy Grail War is a thing that she's been planning for a while now.

Magical Skills: Her general skill at magecraft is low, but still existent. There's one area where she excels at, though.

Other: Subaru is originally from a Fate fanfic/VN idea I had, as I've told you before. Also Subaru always has her smartphone with her so she can monitor stocks no matter where she is.

Motivation: If you asked her, Subaru would tell you that she's doing it for money/riches, though that may or may not be true.

SERVANT APP
Class: Lancer
Gender/Sex: Female (Recorded in history as male, see backstory for details)
Age: Early-Mid 20's.

Appearance: Hey look another chibi. Keep in mind that the generator is limited and that her body shape isn't meant to look that masculine. One important thing about the armor that's important about Lancer: While not on the Chibi Maker due to limitations, the armor has the family clan crest/emblem. Said crest consists of six coins that are used to pay for crossing the underworld, which symbolizes the motto "Always ready to die for a worthy cause". Lancer is meant to look somewhat androgynous.

Personality: Lancer is a wide-eyed idealist, which is both her biggest strength and greatest weakness. She greatly believes in the concept of honor, in the ideal of fighting for what you believe in, and she believes that peace is the greatest thing that can be achieved. She can be rather hotblooded about the things she's passionate about, and when she's REALLY fired up, she tends to be very loud. Despite this, she has a lot of skill as a strategist, though it's somewhat diminished by the fact that her knowledge of tactics is outdated (due to the change in setting).

While she doesn't talk too much about it, Lancer is constantly conflicted in her thoughts as to what "honorable combat" should entail. When her father was still alive, Lancer showed a demonstration of the then-recent rifles in Japan, which her father disapproved of greatly, confusing Lancer since she was rather excited by the possibilities they could bring. On that note, she is very humble, to the point of being self-deprecating, and she feels like she could have done so much more than she ended up doing.

While Lancer does like to fight, she is the type of person who fights in order to stop fighting. She knows that conflict may never truly cease, but she still wants to try to fight for peace, even if it's only a temporary peace. As a final note, Lancer feels somewhat guilty about being a warrior, since she was raised in a time when women weren't really expected to be warriors. She doesn't think that it was wrong of her to defy tradition like that, but she does feel like it was selfish of her. (Differing values and everything.)

Motivation: Lancer doesn't want the Grail itself as much as she wants to restore honor to her family's name. She believes that winning the Holy Grail War will wash away the regrets she holds about her life. She also feels like she will finally be able to forgive herself if she does so.

MAGE APP
Name: Olivia Lombardi
Gender/Sex: Female
Age: 24
Nationality: Born in England, family originates from Italy.
Appearance: Image
She does dress more casually, but this is how she dresses when on business.
Personality: Olivia is a very curious individual, who loves gaining new knowledge wherever she goes. She is a bit of a risk-taker, though when she does decide to do something risky, she'll consider the odds first. She doesn't have many friends, though she is close with the friends she does have. She's not very easy to trust new people, but will gladly engage into a lengthy conversation with them if they share her interests. When she's not studying history or searching for artifacts, she enjoys a bit of science fiction to keep her busy.
Backstory: Olivia is a treasure hunter fascinated with old legends, specifically those surrounding pirates. She developed an interest in history at an early age, as her father would often tell her stories of the legendary figures she is now fascinated by. She's not particularly famous, but has assembled quite the personal collection, and also enjoys the vacations she gets to take while searching for more items. She is a collector of artifacts from both the 1700s and 1800s, but has been searching for artifacts relating to Blackbeard in particular to add to her collection. She began preparing for the Grail War and ended up summoning Blackbeard with one of her artifacts as a catalyst.
Magical Skills: Just regular healing magic and the ability to summon a servant.

MAGE APP
Name: Linn Suzuki
Gender/Sex: Female/Female
Age: 19
Nationality: Swedish/Japanese. Because I can.
Appearance: She's a slightly above average height girl. About... 5' 7" tall. Her hair's pretty short. She's got bangs covering it. It's a bright blonde, with a silver streak above her right eye. A yellow hair ribbon (kind of like the one on Hayate here) is on the silver streak. Her eyes are a pale light blue. She has a small silver stud in her tongue. On the top of her right ear, on she has a small gold loop earring. She's got very fair skin. She has a small glass vial as a pendant for a necklace. Her left arm is covered in tattoos of vines and trees. She also wears a pair of brass knuckles. She has a black spiky bracelet on her left wrist, which also doubles as a watch. (It kinda is like a holographic projection up...? ... Don't think about it too hard. You'll get a headache.) For clothes, she's dressed pretty casually. She wears a white t-shirt with a black and white panda on the front, and ripped dark blue denim short shorts. (They go about seven inches below her waist. She likes dem short shorts.) She wears black converse sneakers as shoes, with white laces. (Shockingly enough, they're not ripped.)

Personality: Linn's a person who... Well who's very passionate about her work. She's also quite an aggressive personality, often interrupting others and trying to get her point across. She's quite rough on the edges, but she's not really that mean. She's pretty sarcastic. And, despite all that, she's not a reclusive person - she likes communicating and interacting with other people.

Backstory: She was born in Sweden - her mom was Swedish, and her dad was Japanese. When she turned nine, they realized that her magical powers were actually pretty strong. Her dad wanted her to follow him back to Japan to train for the Holy Grail War. However, her mother wanted no part in that, and adamantly refused. Ultimately, Linn sided with her father, and she moved back to Japan to train her magical skills. However, once she moved back... She found that magical training was... Well... Really boring. On the side, she joined a gang to liven up her life, and used her magical powers to enhance her decent fighting skills. In the meantime, she begrudgingly continued with her magical studies, growing in power and in knowledge. A few years later, it was time for her to join the Holy Grail War... And thus she joined. How fascinating.

Magical Skills: Her magical skills are pretty potent - after all, her dad was a good mage and she was trained in magic. She uses her magical power to enhance her brass knuckles if she needs to fight (with elemental magic). She's also decently good with her defensive magic, such as barriers - but she much prefers using offense over defense.

Other: Linn is pretty good at physical/hand to hand combat, if need be. She's also very good with her languages, able to speak, understand, read, and write fluent Swedish, Japanese, and English. She can understand Danish and Norwegian, due to mutual intelligibility. She has a potty mouth. She's also vegan. She quite enjoys her tofu, but she hates it when they make tofu-meat. (As in like... Vegan meat.) Just let it be natural, you know? Her favourite food is gomatofu.

Motivation: to find out the terminal velocity of an unladen swallow - both african and european She loves the thrill of the hunt - after all, there's nothing like chasing down prey.

SERVANT APP

Personality: She likes to carefully analyze situations and is wise beyond her years. She's quite kind and is willing to listen to others. That being said, she knows when to assert herself, and she isn't willing to be stomped and rolled over.
Other: She really misses eating feta.

MAGE APP
Name: Manabu Yuta 優太 学 (Japanese order)
Gender/Sex: Male
Age: 17
Nationality: Japanese
Appearance: Yuta is a pretty average looking guy. He's average height, average attractiveness, average weight... He has medium, groomed white hair which is slightly spiked but mostly kept in a safe, professional style. His skin tone is paler than usual, looking slightly grey and he has dark black bags under his eyes. Speaking of his eyes, they're a sort of reddish-brown and typically set to a sarcastic/bored expression. Clothing wise, he always wears the same attire. A white dress shirt, striped black and white tie and faded blue school pants with a belt. Sometimes he wear a black school jacket over this. His shoes are black and well cleaned. Oh, and just to note, he carries around a school notebook at all times. In this he's written his strategies, plans and his innermost thoughts.

Personality: Yuta is... horribly average. Maybe a little above average? He's a straight B student, I mean... He's not disliked by anyone, but no-one's throwing themselves at him. And his life never had anything particularly bad or good in it. He's... average.

But being average... That's not a life he can accept! Yes! All along, he was the true genius! The worlds greatest mastermind. And he has a notebook to prove it. Inside his notebook, he's filled it with strategies for how he plans to kill his enemies, strategies for world take over, sorta-insane ramblings and other proof of his intellect. Of course, the world never acknowledges him as anything special. No-one notes how he's rightfully the greatest genius this world has ever known. People are nothing but tools to him. In fact, this whole world is boring and useless. He's going to burn it all down. Or better yet, take everything over! Yes... He'll bide his time and act genially and plain. So that they'll never see it coming when he takes over the world!

Backstory: Yuta was born to middle-class parents, in an average house and went to a medium ranked school. The other kids always did find him boring. While they wanted to play, he wanted to study. When they were chatting, he was writing in a notebook. While they were playing videogames, he was designing a cage that would catch those pesky birds that kept hanging around their home and drop them into the trash incinerator. And when you're like that, whether the other kids know it or not, the other kids don't want to hang out with you. In fact, sometimes they might even poke fun at you and intentionally harass you. And Yuta would ask himself "why?" After all, he was smart, he was creative, he was everything the perfect kid should be. And yet everyone hated him.

And then one day it came to him. They disliked him because they were stupid! Yes, he was just too smart for the other kids. Well, that's fine. He would put up with being ignored, because he was an intellectual superior! And one day they would realise, he was smart and would let him lead them. Yes. His role was to guide the sheep, once they reached the point where they realized he was smarter than them.

But we all have to wake up some day. We have to realize we aren't as clever and great as we think we are. Except Yuta didn't. No, he just learned how to be polite to everyone and act calm and normal. And he blended in perfectly, the fact that he got average grades and nothing about him stood out helped. Though... he simply chose to block out the fact that the evidence all pointed to him being... average. Yes, he decided, that was just a facade. Part of the plan.

Magical Skills: Yuta's magic is... average. All he's mastered is a basic barrier and the ability to summon a servant. It should be noted, though, he believes he's much greater than that. That he has access to dark magic like curses and all that other vague nonsense!

Other: Yuta secretly knows he's not as great as he thinks, but he denies it heavily. Accepting that would destroy him.

Motivation:
Yuta... isn't sure why he wants the grail. His motivations are all over the place. He wants it to be a god. He wants it to change the world. He wants it to kill his enemies. He wants it to save everyone. He wants it to prove himself. Honestly, he just wants it to prove he's worth something.

SERVANT APP
Class: Caster
Gender/Sex: Male
Age: 45

Appearance: Caster wears the sort of jacket that was popular in the 1700 for men. It's deep dark blue, almost black, and embroidered around the edges with a gold design which is of a pyramid with an eye in the middle. Underneath the jacket, he wears a cravat with a golden broach with an eye design in the middle. Underneath this, he wears a buttoned up black shirt (transparent buttons) with a golden button on each collar and at the bottom of the shirt, forming a triangle. On his hands are white gloves, with the Illuminati insignia on the back. He wears black boots in the style pictured here and black silk pants. Over his head, he wears a black hood with a golden illuminati symbol woven into the front. Note that this hood is more similar to a robes hood, than an executioners hood. It covers his eyes, but not his mouth, and can be pulled back.

Without the hood, Caster looks (while not young or particularly handsome) youthful. He has a slightly round face, slightly wide eyes and a sort of plumpness. His hair is white and done up in a ponytail in the back. However, because anime, his hair at the front is slightly long and frames his face.

Personality:
Caster is open to the mystical and magic, however denies it as the class of "magic". Essentially, while magic or god may exist, it exists within a science. A science which isn't fully understood, but still a rational science. As such, he is insistent that magic (including the magic he wields) is science and technology that he doesn't yet understand.

Overall, Caster is an optimist. At his core, he believes that all humans have the potential to be good and that they just need to be enlightened. He believes he can teach all humans to be moral, to be kind and to be good. In fact, as naive as it may be, his main goal is an equal and free utopian world. However, to do that Caster seems to accept that the ends justify the means, to some degree. A world where everyone is made subject to his rules and regulations, controlled, brainwashed and so forth... That's fine with him, if it serves the goal of a moral and enlightened world. He enjoys structure, rules and things being rational. However, ironically, he hates governments. He considers the government as oppressing and unethically controlling the people. Overall, Caster has good intentions but is...unintentionally vicious in how he plans to achieve them.

As a person, Caster is calm and rational with a level of good natured-ness and a wry sense of humour. He tends to look at things logically, but is still empathetic and aims to be kind and a leader who guides people from... darkness.

Other: Secretly, he considers Yuta dangerous and misguided. However, he believes he can teach Yuta to be moral, ethical and empathetic by the time they win the war. And, from there, he hopes that Yuta will help him make a utopian world.

Motivation: To make the world a utopian world, where everyone follows the teachings he sets out as the moral way.
Spoiler : NN - Assassin :
MAGE APP
Name: Satsuki Sasaki
Gender/Sex: Female
Age: 16
Nationality: American
Appearance: Sasaki is a short girl with a height of 4'8". She has long wavy purple hair that reaches her neck, and bright blue eyes. She has a thin wide face, with large ears. Her skin is a pinkish color. She is extremely thin, weighing approximately 120 pounds. Her arms and legs are long and wiry, and she possesses small hands and toes, her fingers being especially thin.

She typically wears a white-t shirt and jeans, with black tennis shoes. She also has red high heels that she'll wear on formal occasions. She always also carries out a black purse.

Personality:
Satsuki is a girl that is very apathetic. She tends to talk in a rather dry, disconnected manner, as though she's an outsider looking in at the events transpiring, rather than being a part of them. She tends to be dismissive of other people's opinions of her, and rebuffs any attempts at others getting close to her, continually saying that she doesn't need friends and that they would simply get in the way. She buries herself in books- typically texts on magic, and is naturally therefore very knowledgeable on the subject. She also seems perfectly willing to utilize any level of violence necessary to accomplish her goals.

She deeply wishes for her family to become famous mages, and will do basically anything to accomplish that goal.

Backstory:
Satsuki is a member of the Sasaki family, a relatively wealthy family of mages that reside in America. She was their only offspring, and thus a great deal of pressure was put on her to become a skilled and successful mage. She was taught from when she was very young to be disconnected from others, that attachment would merely hurt her and cause her to be less effective as a mage.

Satsuki was always an unpopular girl at school, the cold demeanor that she projected hardly being conducive to making friends. She attempted to ignore this and focus on her magic, learning as much as she could.

SERVANT APP
Class: Assassin

She has small oval-shaped brown eyes as well as a small nose and ears. She has a thin, slightly curvy body that could still pass for masculine if one doesn't look carefully. She has muscular arms and legs, that lead up to small and thin hands and feet. She typically doesn't wear any footwear, choosing to be barefoot.
Powers, Items and Abilities: Assassin possesses a metal longsword. She also has a C in Presence Concealment.
Personality: Assassin is a very respectful woman, that will at first defer to her superiors in all occasions when appropriate. She tends to exude a very professional air, and makes it clear that she performs all her duties out of pure obligation.

MAGE APP

Name: Price Dorsey

Gender/Sex: Male

Age: 37

Nationality: Born in America, ancestral origins in Egypt.

Appearance: Image

Tall and well-built. Despite his injury on the bottom, he still has quick reflexes and can pack a punch.

Personality: As edgy as they get, this paranoid man is always watching out for past debts, hitmen, and victims of older times. He is said to sleep with one eye open, even. He carries a small mirror at all times, and uses it when he feels threatened.

Known to speak loud and harsh, he is a very persuasive man in a violent way. The way he talks is physically frightening, and his gaze is known to send chills down people’s spines. God forbid he gets mad, because that’s when he’s the scariest. You can see the veins in his neck pulsating with anger at that point. It only gets worse if you make a fool out of him/wrong him in any way. Really, just messing with him isn’t a good idea at all.

Somewhat violent and impulsive, but has chilled out due to his injuries. When he’s calm, he always attempts to use his intuition and thoughts as much as possible.

At his core, he’s a completely horrible person. One could try to say he has redeeming qualities, but really; he only cares for himself. Even now, all he wants is to wipe away what he did.

Backstory: An ex-member of the american mafia. Price has seen some stuff, whether that stuff is some delicious food, or someone getting filled with lead. He’s used to it all, except historical figures bloodily duking it out, but he’ll probably be fine with that.

Price has always been a violent person, getting into fights as soon as he could stand his ground. He’d fight his siblings, his friends, his acquaintances. All over simple things, usually. He was always just ready to pick a fight due to his low temper. Eventually there had to be an intervention, and at the age of 19, he was sent to a anger management class. However, he just punched the instructor in the face and ran.

After causing havoc for two years, he eventually got involved with the mafia due to all of his violent outbursts. At first, he was working for them out of payment for transgressions against mob members, but eventually they accepted him as an efficient scare-tactic. “Pay up, or we’ll sic Price “Devastator” Dorsey on you,” is often what his co-workers would say as he cracked his knuckles in the background. He lived this way for a long time.

And then, at the age of 28, he was targeted by a neighboring gang. They hit him with a car as hard as they could, and managed to paralyze his left leg, making him unable to fulfill his duties. He would live the rest of the time with the mafia as an advisor, as he was unable to do anything else. He got a brace and a cane so he could at least walk somewhat normally.

During this time, he calmed down. He slowly started to become more analytical and read situations more. He eventually started to regret his life, and began to wish for another chance. However, his record would always be there.

Or would it? As fate would have it, he was somehow chosen for the holy grail war yadda yadda I have no idea how this works.

Other: Has been known to like to draw, and once was able to draw the faces of those who the mob needed to identify.

Is a horrible person.

Motivation: He wants to be able to wipe his record completely and just forget everything ever happened.

SERVANT APP
Class: Berserker
Gender/Sex: Male
Age: 42
Appearance: Standing taller than anyone could ever imagine, Berserker is a bulging hulk of a man with a wild and barely braided red beard, a balding head, and a barrel chest. His face is grossly distorted, even without the whole berserker thing going on. With the berserker thing, he’s basically the ugliest ogre he could be.

His torso is barely covered by a brown breast plate, which has another one layered over it to attempt to cover the spaces left due to his massive chest. His shoulder pads extend past his shoulders quite a few inches. His greaves and arm armor things are fairly standard. Underneath his armor, chainmail can be seen.

His helmet has those weird horns that generic vikings have.

On top of all of this, he has a long and wide billowing and tattered black cape with a gold trim.

Outside of battle, he wears an unbuttoned black pinstripe suit and pants with a white undershirt and black tie. However, all most of them are ripped at seams, and the tie is kind of flopping around. He also has two gold rings hanging from his ears.

Personality: A large and quiet man who stands by Price for most of his moments. He has a cold hard stare, and seems to always be mumbling under his breath. When near him, you can hear poetry. Usually, it’s really quite good. (although it’s just his old poetry.)

He is loyal to Price enough to not attack unless prompted by Price or he’s attacked by something or other. Once this happens, it’s near impossible for Price to get him to listen to orders.

Other: The mumbling of his own poetry is to keep him distracted, as that keeps him from attacking everyone. It’s probably the only part of his previous self that really still “exists.”

Motivation: Grawfraaaaaar

Satsuki surveyed the city, eyes darting from one house to the next. None of them looked particularly remarkable, in all honesty. There were some distinct design choices here and there- places where the architects decided to get a bit creative, but the others more or less were totally homogenous; just a gigantic collection of large squares with no true identity of their own to speak of.

It reminded her of home.

She stretched for a moment as she began to walk on Fuyuki Bridge.

Is this truly wise? We likely won't find any other Masters around here. And if we do, we won't be able to combat them. A voice suddenly boomed in her mind, one deep and rich.

This will be fine, Assassin. We've just gotten started- it's much better to get a feel for our surroundings rather than jump into battle. Satsuki had resolved herself to refer to her Servant by their class even in her thoughts. It was a good habit to have, and although she doubted any of the mages or Sevants she was facing had telepathic abilities- it wasn't exactly a common form of magic, to say the least- it was still better to be safe than sorry.

Very well. The second voice then fell silent.

And she continued to walk, wandering past various people. People either completely oblivious of the war that was being waged in this town at this very moment. Or, if there weren't, could potentially become casualties of it very, very soon.

"Does it bother you that things don't really have a proper start?"

Manabu rolled over to lay on his back, staring up at the off-eggshell white ceiling of his room. He draped an arm over the side of the bed and placed his other arm underneath his head for support. Caster, in response, would have lifted an eyebrow with a slightly bemused smile were he not in spirit form.

"No. Because, last I checked, things do have beginnings."

Manabu sighed.

"Not proper ones, though."

"The day began at exactly one second past midnight. Your argument is irrelevant."

Manabu grimaced and muttered angrily in reply.

"You're being pretentious, servant."

Caster simply shrugged it off with a level of faux self importance that seemed to be typical of his nature.

"I'm a philosopher. It's my duty."

Manabu shot an icy glare at the back of his hand.

"Duties, huh? Now you're sounding like Kant."

Caster clicked his tongue mentally, having taken mild offense to the comment.

"Now, why would you bring him up? You don't listen to his teachings, as far as I can tell. Honestly, you seem more like someone who reads bad Nietzsche to me..."

Caster chuckled as if he had just made an incredibly clever joke that no-one else quite seemed to get, before continuing.

"Oh. Or did you just want to bring up some high school philosophy you figured would make you sound smart? Throwing about references isn't what makes someone clever, you know?"

"Oh, I'm sure you know everything." Manabu's response barely made any sense as a comeback, but it was all he could think of on the spot. "Just shut up and focus on the enemy servants."

"Oh, certainly. I'm sure your apartment is just littered with them. Do you want me to defeat the television-class servant or, perhaps, the heroic spirit of Siegfried's bookcase?"

"I'm planning. I'm not an idiot, I know I can't go into this without first analyzing the situation and preparing a perfect plan."

Caster nodded thoughtfully.

"Oh, I see. So you're going to somehow work everything out with incredible foresight without knowing anything about who you're fighting?"

"Yep."

Manabu's response was short and final. It wasn't... Honest, but it was a good indicator of his irritation. Caster sighed.

"...R * fp * ne * fl * fi * fc * L = N"

"What the hell does that mean?"

Manabu snapped, slightly.

"Nothing. It was in your notebook so I just said it to sound smart. But I bet I could make it sound relevant if I was given some time."

Manabu made a sort of loud grumble and threw his pillow at the floor.

*thump* *thump* *thump*

Linn always found it... Odd the way that she did her work outs. It wasn't the fact that she went to some place out in the middle of nowhere. It wasn't the fact that she continued to wear her brass knuckles while practicing to get a little extra... oomph from her punches. It wasn't the fact that the place she practiced was much colder than she would ever have to encounter. Nor was it that she never changed out of her casual outfit to more sporty clothes. Rather, it was the fact that she practiced on a large slab of meat on a hanger. Granted, it was probably the toughest object she could find that she could still punch - after all, nothing really compares to punching flesh than punching a dead piece of meat - but... Considering her dietary choices and all... It still was quite woefully ironic that she chose to come here to practice with... that, day in and day out.

But still, practice is practice. She still needed to work hard. Train for any condition. Be prepared for any situation to come. Let her punches dictate the course of events. Become stronger. Keep trying. Keep failing. Trying again. Work harder. Fail harder. After all, the only way to know true success is from tasting defeat. And besides, she liked it here. It was quiet. No one here to bother her. Just... Herself against a slab of meat. She could push herself all she wanted here.

And, of course, being here was a refreshing change away from the... Humdrum of magic studies. That was always dreadfully boring. The practical applications of magic were pretty awesome. But... The actual rote of reading and studying was... Ugh. Archer probably would be slightly annoyed at the fact that she was wasting her time on matters such as this. Even if she didn't say anything directly about it, Linn got the vibe that... Well, she'd rather have her doing more "useful things". Ugh. Linn quickly cleared her thoughts of... Well, those ideas. She was training now for much more practical applications. She didn't need to bog down her mind with such trifling matters. Just... Let her punches do the talking. Run on instinct. Keep punching.

*thump* *thump* *thump*

*thump* *thump* *thump*

*thump* *thump* *crash*

That was probably enough for today. She looked at her hands. They were slightly red, but... Not too bad. The slab of meat was certainly in much worse condition than she was, considering it lay as a heap on the ground. It... Really was such a shame that it had to be used for this purpose, but... Still. There certainly wasn't anything that she could do at this point to help it.

Walking up to the slab of meat, she picked it up, and put it back on the hook. She then turned and left. Her training session was now over. But... Still, there was the matter of walking home. Why she trained on the complete opposite side of town... She honestly had no idea. Probably because it gave her a bit more time to just... Be free from the hustle and bustle around her.

And so, she left the warehouse she trained in and started to walk back. Past all the busy streets. Past all the noise and hubbub around her. But... When she reached Fuyuki Bridge, she happened upon a strange sight. A purple haired girl, a few years younger than her, was just... Looking around there. Sure, she could have just been admiring the sights, but... Something seemed a little off about that.

Linn approached her, sighed, and asked, "So... What exactly are you doing here? Are you like... Lost or something?"

Fuyuki Bridge

Satsuki was currently staring at a few buildings to the left of the bridge, analyzing their strategic value. Then again, would the city truly be an optimal place for Assassin to battle? Perhaps...

Satsuki was suddenly jarred out of her thoughts by a girl's voice. Turning around, she saw a much taller girl-likely a year or two older-with blonde hair approaching her, her body heavily tattooed. She subconsciously darted her eyes to the right.

Assassin?
No servant.

So,while it was possible that the girl had her servant doing reconnaissance somewhere else, the likelihood that she was a Master was incredibly low. That said, she quickly jammed both her hands into her jean pockets- if she was a master, no need to give herself away so easily.

The girl was asking her a question. Well, given how this was hardly a good place for a fight, it would be best to send the woman away, regardless of her identity.

"I just arrived in the city the other day. So I'm looking around. This place is fascinating." Satsuki said dryly, as though she were reading from a script.

Fuyuki Bridge

... Okay, the reaction from this girl was... Most definitely very odd. The... Sudden putting of hands in pockets. The shifty look. The... Rather tepid response that she got from her. Linn was slightly confused by the situation, but... She let it go.

"Uhhhhhh... Ooookay then. What do you find so cool about here? Like... Why here of all places? It's just a bridge after all. I mean, whoop dee doo, I guess it's kind of nice looking, but... Yeah, why'd you decide to come here? It's kinda boring here. Not much to do." She sighed. "And, well, it's not like anything cool ever happens here or anything..."

This girl had lived in the town for a while, it sounded like. Certainly lowered the possibility of her being a Master further. Unless she was lying, of course. Couldn't discount that. Oh, she was asking another question. Satsuki paused for a moment, considering her options.

"Ah. I came here because my... family... lives here." Suddenly, Satsuki's lips curl into a frown. But it turns to her typical neutral expression moments later. "They invited me here. Think it's a nice place to live." She nodded to herself. This seemed like an acceptable excuse. "I like it a lot." Satsuki said, her dull, near monotonous voice betraying her words.

Linn listened to her speak and... This girl's manerisms were... Strangely detached, which naturally lead her to ask more questions.

"Your family lives here? Huh, that's cool, I guess. But... Honestly, you really don't seem very enthused to be here for someone who's claiming how nice it is... You suuuuuure you like it here or something? No other reason to be here?"

You're going to get discovered at this rate, Master.

Satsuki ignored her Servant. She'd get through this. Chances were the girl was a civilian, in which case there was no risk. And even in the worst case scenario, they were in a public place, and the other girl was alone. Satsuki wasn't in any danger.

"Absolutely. No other reason. I don't see what other reason there could be."

Linn was still... Extremely suspicious about the rather dodgy and vague replies she was continuing to get from this girl. She... She mut be hiding something. And she was determined to find out what she was hiding. After all, no... Normal person would ever act and react to a situation like this. Perhaps Linn could... Lead her on a little?

"Oh, so there really aren't any... other activities you're here for? Such a shame. It may be quite boring here, but... There always seems to be a bit more... Pizzaz here, you know?"

If she didn't get what she meant now... Well, perhaps it was just her own overimaginative self overthinking this situation at hand... But... If her gut wasn't wrong, then... Things could turn out to be a lot more interesting.

So. She did know. Well, that made things relatively simple. There was no surprised reaction at this revelation. No gasp, no expression of shock. Satsuki made sure of that. She just quietly took her right had out of her pocket, and displayed her Command Seal to the girl. That should be sufficient for her to know what she was dealing with.

"This place is somewhat crowded." Satsuki observed; If she had been surprised, her voice certainly didn't reflect it. "If you wish to discuss matters, somewhere more private would probably be preferable."

A small smile broke out on Linn's face. Heh. She really was one of them. This would certainly be... Fun.

Linn began cracking her knuckles. "Heh. Turns out my gut feeling wasn't wrong after all. But yes, somewhere more private is a must. We certainly don't want anything that could be... Potentially seen to be seen. Come on. Follow me. I know a place that's not too far away."

Since this mysterious girl really was a master... She'd be at least slightly dangerous. But still... This wasn't the time to do something... Regrettable. At least keep things cordial, for now.

So she led this girl across the bridge, through the streets, and back home. After all, it was where Archer was. If things really did go off the rails, at least she'd have some protection.

So, she got home with the other girl, opened the door, and settled her into the living area.

"So... First things first. What's your name? It's going to be kind of awkward to keep referring to you as 'that girl' or something of that variety... And... Well, what do you want to talk about?"

Linn's Home

Satsuki followed the other girl to her house, taking slow, calm strides. When she entered the room, she didn't even bother looking around. She had business here, after all.

"I'm Satsuki Sasaki. It's a pleasure." Satsuki said, her tone remaining utterly impassive. "Though it seems impolite to request my name when you haven't told me your own."

Then she shrugged.

"It's immaterial. I have two questions, one a follow-up to the other. I know it is a personal matter, but would you be willing to tell me why you seek the Grail? I'll happily tell you mine if you agree to do so."

You surely don't expect her to just... tell you, do you Master?
I highly doubt she will, but I feel that it's worth a try. It'll potentially give me a better understanding of her personality. And that could prove useful.

Subaru's Residence

Ah, the natural habitat of the Subaru Kobayashi. Observe how she gazes at her computer screen, one hand on her computer mouse, and the other holding a bar of chocolate, which she occasionally munches on. Observe how she pays more attention to her computer screen and the stock market, instead of the Holy Grail War that she has gotten involved in. Finally, observe how exasperated her companion is, the Lancer she summoned who is currently staring at her with a look of disbelief. Yes, this is the perfect image of Subaru Kobayashi.

"Oh, right. Lancer, do you want to learn about the stock market? I could teach you." Subaru said as she looked away from her computer screen for a moment. If you looked at her now, you wouldn't believe that she was a magus who had resolved herself and was ready to go to war. She seemed like she had nothing to worry about, even though that was completely inaccurate. For someone who was 30 years old, she looked rather younger, though her voice matched her personality perfectly, and her voice was unmistakably that of an adult's.

"Master... That isn't necessary, though I thank you for the opportunity. More importantly... You are aware that the Holy Grail War has started, correct? Do you have any orders to issue?" Lancer said in reply. It was rather obvious that she was out of her element. She didn't have any objections to her master, but... This wasn't quite what she had expected.

In contrast to her Master, Lancer had a serious expression on her face, and she stood straight and tall. The two contrasting images were quite striking. Subaru was dressed fairly nicely, but you could easily imagine her as the type of person you could pass by and not think much of, odd hair colors and eye color aside. Lancer, on the other hand, was wearing a brown suit with a white shirt, and even if she had a more normal hair color, there was something about her that just seemed... Intense, for lack of a better word. The type of person who would perform even the most mundane of tasks to the absolute best of her ability.

Subaru lived in a fairly simple apartment, with the most important thing to her being the fact that she had all the necessities she needed. There was an older game console connected to the one TV that she had, and that didn't seem to get much use from her. Subaru would have to thank her family later, provided she survived the war. It was her family who sent her many different types of clothing before the Servant Summoning so that her Servant could be disguised in public, and they had sent quite a variety to account for the fact that her Servant could have been of any build. Subaru was fairly sure that the brown suit that Lancer had picked out was meant for men, but Lancer had insisted that she felt most comfortable in men's clothing anyway, for reasons that they had discussed before.

"I see... Lancer, I'm going to be honest with you. I wanted you to see what I'm really like so you wouldn't have any false impressions of me. I realize I don't seem like much, but... I'm determined to win this war. And I'll need your help to do it. Uh... Sorry you had to get stuck with the stock-obsessed freak for a Master." Subaru said. Well, she had partially decided to monitor the stocks for a while so that Lancer could know that she was that kind of person, but also partly because she wanted to and that was just what she did. But it was better to pretend that it was just for that.

"There is no need to worry about that, Master! Being passionate about anything is an admirable trait. In fact, this 'stock market' seems like a war in of itself! Have no fear, for I will do my best so we can attain victory!" Lancer said, suddenly shouting intensely. Subaru would have recoiled at the sudden change in volume, only she had already gotten used to it. This was just sort of the way Lancer was.

Subaru smiled, and then turned off her computer, though she made sure to look at her smartphone at the same time so she could continue to monitor the stock market. It was a really slow day today... Her least favorite kind of day. The type of day when there was barely any movement, so it wasn't fun at all since the best thing to do was to just wait until something did happen.

It was time to make a move. Information was essential in many things, the stock market and the Holy Grail War being among them. She smirked as she thought about how Lancer had compared the stock market to war... In a way, that was more accurate than she possibly could have known. She prepared to leave her apartment (she made sure to take a few lollipops with her), and Lancer entered her spiritual form.

"Make sure to be ready for anything, Lancer. For all we know, a shark could attack as soon as I exit that door."

"Hm? But... There isn't any water nearby. And I don't detect any threats..."

"What are you talking about? I always get attacked by sharks on land, I don't know about you."

"Oh... Ah! I see! That was a joke. I understand. Forgive me, it'll take me a while to get used to this..."

Still... The chances of me dying have risen now. If I don't want to end up as food for the vultures, I should try to look for information anywhere I can.

Subaru decided to head to the Park, maybe because she has a plan, but more likely it's a random choice.

Apartment Complex

"Dammit!"

A controller flew past the meditating warrior's head. It would have knocked him over had his master's screaming hadn't provided a nice siren to alert him to move his head. He opened one eye and glanced at the controller, now lying on a pile of dirty laundry.

"Master Satsuei," the warrior started.

"They're using hacks, I swear!" The girl sitting in the dark at her computer screen was furiously typing something now An MMO was open on the screen in front of her, with a "YOU LOSE" displayed. "There's no way anyone that level could have that kind of equipment! I used basic equipment to give them a fair chance in this duel but they just abused my good nature to cheat! Joke's on them, I'm PMing the admin now...I'll ban his ass so hard that he'll feel it IRL!" The girl typed furiously into the chat box, and her servant sighed as he stood up from his contemplative position.

"Master Satsuei, is there not more pressing matters to attend to?" The servant, clad in blue and black samurai uniform and with his dual blades sheathed at his side, looked down at his master as she sat in her chair. "I'm sure your 'video games' are appealing, but sitting around does not win wars."

"God, you sound like my mother," the girl said as she hit enter and began spinning in her chair. "Relaaaax. I got this whole thing figured out, alright?"

"Then you're saying you have a plan," the samurai said.

"Uh-huh. First we sit back and chill for a while," she said. "The other Servants all get pissy and kill each other off while I sit here and wreck in Legend of the Mighty. Then, when there's only one left and he's all gotten the living daylights beat outta him, you run in there and kick his ass with your Phantasm and then we win the Grail with minimal effort. Easy peasy."

"Your plan is flawed and quite frankly atrocious," the servant told his master. "Other masters are not simply idle. They would find a way to hunt you down one way or another and catch you by surprise. And there is no honor in merely waiting for a war to end to claim yourself victor."

"Yeah, maybe for you mister stabby-stab," the girl said with a pout, "but I don't want some freaks stabbing me when I walk out the door. I'm just in it for the prize at the end so I'm just gonna wait this whole thing out."

"Your apathy will get you killed," the servant said bluntly.

"Whatever. You'll see how dead I am when I win this thing in the end." She stood up, kicking aside some trash scattered around on the floor and walking over to the pile of laundry where her controller had landed when she tossed it in rage. "All I have to worry about is kicking ass in-" She turned back to see her servant shutting off the computer she had been playing on. " Hey! HEY HEY HEY! WTF are you doing?!"

"You may be my master but that does not mean I will stand to tolerate foolishness," the servant said, still keeping his cool even while chastising his master. "We are going to have to be serious about this war eventually whether you like it or not."

The girl groaned in frustration, rolling up the massive sleeves of her bunny sweater as if ready for a fight. "Don't screw with me, Saber! Do you remember who I am?!"

"My master, supposedly," Saber said, "yet for some reason I only see a child throwing a tantrum."

The girl lifted her hand to show her command seal. "Ya see this?! I can make you do whatever I want, so turn my computer back on now before I have to force you to!"

"Hosi Satsuei," Saber snapped. He got close to Hoshi and glared down at her, his intimidating glare piercing into her. She gulped with fear at the much taller man as he stared right through her. "A trump card is best saved for the time it is needed. Wasting an advantage is the most foolish thing a warrior could do. Do you really think that wasting a seal now would further your chance of victory? You would merely be one opportunity down and would have none to blame but yourself. Are you willing to waste this for something so foolishly trivial?"

Hoshi could feel the sweat falling down her brow. She averted her gaze from Saber and played with her unkempt dyed hair. "U-U-Uuuh...I g-guess not..."

Saber sighed and backed off. "Good. Then I suggest we begin to formulate a real plan. One that goes past simply sitting around and waiting for people to fall dead."

"Well what do you expect from me?" Hoshi whined as she collapsed into her chair. "I don't know what to do. I've never been in a war IRL before. Do we go scouting or something? Or do we just point at someone, shout 'I BET YOU'VE GOT A SERVANT, YOU PUNK!' and run in stabbing them with a katana?"

"We must first determine our situation," Saber went on, ignoring Hoshi's snark. "We need to have a good grasp of our opponents so that we may strategize to defeat them. However, we cannot merely throw ourselves into the open fray until we know what we are facing. Such recklessness would be foolish of us."

"Aw damn, I'm out of chips," Hoshi said, holding an empty bag upside down as she shook the crumbs out. "I'm gonna buy some more."

"...Have you been paying attention to what I have been saying?" Saber asked.

"Yeah yeah. Hey, get dressed, we're going out together." She crumpled the bag and tossed it, then made a poor attempt at fixing up her frizzy hair.

"Would it not be more wise for me to remain invisible when traveling publicly at this point in time?"

"Nah," Hoshi said with a shrug as she shoved her shoes on. "If some cute boys see me with a hot older guy, they might get jealous and ask me out. That'd be sweet..."

With a sigh, Saber surrendered. "You are ridiculously simple-minded."

"And you're an obnoxious nag!" Hoshi snapped back. "Get in your suit and start looking dapper, samurai man, we're going out on the town!" Hoshi grabbed a map out from a drawer in her desk and looked it over. "Lessee...Crap, shopping district's so far away. I stockpiled on snacks to avoid going there when I moved in but I don't have a choice now...ugh, whatever, there's a bus stop at the park so we'll just head there, it's not far." She looked up towards Saber, who was now dressed in a black and gray suit with his hair undone and black circular shades over his scary eyes. "Wow, that was fast. You'd look fancier if you didn't throw that stuff on so haphazardly, though."

"I don't think you need to concern yourself with how 'fancy' I look. I will keep an eye out for enemies, but let's handle this trip of yours quickly before we put ourselves at risk of being too easily detected."

"Right, right." Hoshi opened the door, squinting as the bright light of day filled the dark apartment. "Gah...let's go."

Hoshi and Saber have gone to the Park.
