[RP] Across the Stitches (Randomizer RP)

ACROSS THE STITCHES
THE STORY

You have been plucked from across space and time and have been brought to Riftopia, a strange city crudely stitched together comprised of pieces chopped off other dimensions. The one who summoned you and everybody else is a woman named Esmeralda, the self-proclaimed "Witch of Stitches". Esmeralda claims she has plucked you from your own dimension using her powers, and that everybody brought to Riftopia has a mission. They are to defeat the targets that Esmeralda assigns to them if they want to go home; anyone who earns four points (ie, defeating 4 targets) will leave Riftopia and not only return to their own dimension, but have a single wish granted to them. Of course, you can work together to earn points, or you can steal points from your fellow players, you can (try to) kill Esmeralda herself for an instant victory, or you can even ignore the competition entirely. The choice is yours as you're set loose into Riftopia, the Witch of Stitches keeping her eyes on you at all times.


THE CONCEPT

If you've been in other RPs here, you've likely used or seen other people use character creators. Programs or websites that let people take a base body and add clothes, hair, faces, etc. to them to make their characters' appearance rather than draw or explain them personally. They're incredibly useful tools, whether they be for creating a character from scratch, recreating a character you have in mind, etc. But what happens when you don't decide what the character looks like...but a randomizer does?

In Across the Stitches, your characters are not "designed" by you. At least, their appearance isn't. The basic idea of this RP is to create a character based on an image randomized in a character creator. You will hit the random button on the provided creator until you get a character that you're happy with. You will then write your character app based around this image. Yes, not creating an image to match a character, but writing a character to match an image. That is the basic concept behind Across the Stitches.


CHARACTER CREATION

All characters will be designed randomly using the website DreamSelfy, a creator that uses assets from the website TinierMe for free character customization. This website was chosen mostly because its randomization results tend to have more cohesive and interesting results than many others, which are often rather...ridiculous. This seems to typically create more solid results to build characters off of.

This will be used to design all your characters. To create a character RANDOMLY, click the "Randomize your SELFY!" button, beneath "REMOVE ALL ITEMS" to receive a random outfit design.

Rules for character creation:
-The characters MUST be made through the randomize option and not by selecting items personally. I can't moderate this but I'd like to trust you guys.
-You CAN remove objects from the results. You do not need to keep in backgrounds or unmatching objects like animals and purses or extra pairs of shoes. Remove what you need to remove to make it work, but do not add items.
-However, I enact the "Shoe Clause", aka, if your character ends up without shoes but you think they should have shoes, you are allowed to select shoes for them to wear. Not having shoes happens often on this site (as well as too many shoes) so it's only fair to let you control at least footwear.
-You can change skin color as you wish; they're not randomized so you're free to choose those yourself.
-I haven't found a way to link a still image of the character, so you may have to screencap and crop the image if you want to post a still version.
-You do not have to use the first one you find. You can keep rolling until you are satisfied.
-Anything you need to elaborate on that can't be done in the editor can be done in text, since some things aren't cler.
-You may interpret the design however you wish; they all have the same build, but if you want them to be buff or old or young or male or female or anything else, you're free to so long as you state so.


RIFTOPIA

As previously mentioned, the story takes place in a town comprised of cobbled together pieces of different dimensions known as Riftopia. Here is the layout for the "city" and an explanation for the different "districts".

A - Limbo Plateau: The starting location and the center of Riftopia. This area is the smallest in the city, and consists of an invisble floor in a circular area that hovers over the black void below. This is where Esmeralda the Stitch Witch can most often be found when she isn't pestering others, and where she will explain the rules. This is also the easiest and safest way to travel through the different districts, as it connects directly to them all save for Atlantis Shores. All players begin here and it is where the RP shall start.

B - Empire City: The largest district of Riftopia, this area is cobbled together of many different empires, kingdoms, and other governments into one large area consisting of castles, shrines, military bases, and more. This is the "melting pot" of the city, and it seems divided amongst itself between the many cultures and rulers living there. Kings live in partial castles, samurai serving their emperors wander the streets, military commanders live down the block from space monarchs. It's a crude district with many tears in the rift in the alleys between empires, and it's easy to find oneself in political turmoil here. It's also where one can make the strongest alliances, meet the most powerful people, and fight the most powerful foes. If they have power, you can find them here. Think of it like a very politically divided rich aristocrat district.

C - Centaur Park: This area is where most magical beings have been placed. It's called Park, but its more a forest. Nature is aplenty here, and it is where most mages and mystical beings roam. Fairies, elves, gnomes, dragons, wizards, warlocks, and, of course, centaurs all make this their home. As a result, it's a good place for finding magical artifacts, potions, runes, anything magic-related that one may need.

D - Stargate Square: The opposite of Centaur Park, Stargate Square is a futuristic district straight out of our science-fiction. Space exploration, giant robots, lasers, and the like are all being explored here. It's the perfect place to find high-tech equipment that may be helpful in defeating targets or surviving in some areas; if it can be done with a gadget, it can be found here. Sadly, space exploration is limited by Esmeralda's intervention, so even their vast tech has yet to find any meaningful ways to escape.

E - Kawaii Court: This area is designed similarly to our own Tokyo, Japan, but houses much more bizarre people. It's practically a district-wide anime convention, where you're likely to find people with colorful hair and super specific superpowers and oversized swords and such everywhere, or who just want to sit and relax in a cafe. This area is excellent for those who are interested in relaxing, geeking out, or taking in sights, but be wary, as it's the most unpredictable district; you never know how powerful someone may be here.

F - Atlantis Shores: A long beach rests at the side of a miniature ocean, where the aquatic creatures reside. Fish, mermaids, sharks, sea witches, etc. all reside here. The ocean is crudely constructed of all kinds of water, so it can support all kinds of life and even be safe to drink. Underwater civilizations reside within, but you may never see this without some assistance through magic or technology. The edges of the water all lead to the Voidlands, so be careful not to swim out too far.

G - Klub Kounty: This is a district-wide nightclub, with music and entertainment from across the multiverse. Cafes, raves, operas, magic shows, all sorts of performances make up this art center of Riftopia, with an overal cyberpunk aesthetic across the streets that turn the entire city into one giant rave. This is the best place to relax and have a breather. Few of the people here are fighters, and there's plenty of places to relax and unwind. If you plan on taking a more relaxed approach to Riftopia, this may be your favorite place.

H - The Voidlands: Riftopia is not entirely stable. There's holes in the dimensional rift, black voids where nobody knows whay may happen, not even Esmeralda. The Voidlands surround all of Riftopia to keep people inside, and they leak through the seams of the world, noticably between the different districts (which is why traveling to the Limbo Plateau to move between locations is recommended) and sometimes in alleys of the districts, especially in Empire City. The Void is unpredictable; some suspect it is merely nothingness, some think it brings instant death, some believe it mutates those that traverse it, some think it is where lost things end up. Nobody truly understands the Voidlands, but everybody avoids it.


GAMEPLAY AND THE WITCH'S RULES

As mentioned in the plot section, the basic goal of this RP is to earn points by defeating "targets", persons of interest assigned one at a time by Esmeralda. Most of these targets will be notable NPCs; I will control them for now, but I may recruit others down the line, or even assign player characters as targets, with permission. Esmeralda will assign a target for everybody to hunt, and the person or persons who defeat the target will be awarded one point. To escape Riftopia and have Esmeralda grant one wish for their return home, a player needs four points; this does not mean there is only one winner or that it is a race. Once one target is defeated in a challenge or battle, or is killed, the points shall be assigned and a new target shall be assigned, and the process shall repeat. A target does not need to be faced in combat to count as a defeat; defeating them in a mental challenge or in sports or any other form of competition works as well. You can earn 4 points without having to fight, but you should pay attention to the target's personality if you want to try a different approach. The RP structure will be free-roam as expected of most of my RPs, with the targets acting as "events" for any interested players to pursue. You are free to approach the rest of the world, your pacing, and how you interact with other players and the targets as you see fit. Events will change as targets change.

The Stitch Witch has set a set of rules for her game, which all players are expected to follow. Esmeralda defines the rules of her game as thus:

1. You earn points by defeating or killing the target assigned by Esmeralda.
2. To escape Riftopia with your wish fulfilled, you must earn four points and report to the Limbo Plateau.
3. If you defeat a fellow player, you will steal one of their points from them.
4. If you kill a fellow player, they will be elliminated from play, but you will only receive one point, and only if they had at least one point.
5. If multiple people directly contribute to a target's defeat, they will both receive a point for the defeat.
6. You do not earn points if you contribute to a target's defeat secondhand; you must directly be facing them.
7. Defeats can be earned through nonviolent or nonlethal means.
8. A new target will be assigned by Esmeralda upon the previous one's defeat.
9. Defeating a previous target after their point is claimed does not award any points.
10. The game does not stop when one person achieves four points; it continues, and there's no single winner.
11. Compromising Riftopia's existence will result in disqualification and ellimination.
12. If anyone kills Esmeralda, Riftopia will disperse, and everyone remaining will return to their dimension without a wish.

These may be edited based on situations and questions arising over time.


RP RULES

General rules for the RP itself:

-No invincible players. You don't have to die the first time you get shot, but don't just bursh off getting nuked.
-No spamming. You can have short posts, but keep them one at a time and try to keep it at at least a paragraph of text.
-Keep battles fair. Don't just kill a guy in one shot, and don't make your character from a dimension of demigods or anything.
-Post OOC in spoilers once the game has begun.
-Wait for GM acceptance of your app before posting.
-The current maximum is THREE CHARACTERS per player.
-NPCs are permitted for plot purposes, but do not take control of another's NPC without permission.
-Clearly note your location when switching scenes.
-Over-the-topness and cheesiness is allowed and encouraged as long as it does not go into god-mod territory.
-Keep 4th-wall breaking to a reasonable amount based on the tone the RP takes.
-Don't steal a scene or bend the tone to your own whim if the other players don't want it.
-OCs only generated in DreamSelfy, so no AUs of real characters or people.
-No killing characters without the permission of the ones controlling them.
-Read GD's Roleplaying guide for reference.

Esmeralda, the Witch of Stitches: The mastermind of the story and the creator of Riftopia, Esmeralda is the one pulling the literal strings on this game. She tore the multiverse apart to create this city, came up with the rules herself, and plucked you from your own dimension to place you here. She's an eccentric woman with an indeterminable age and a scarred face. She seems to have more energy and excitement than most in her position might, and she is far more powerful than she may seem. Her sickle tears holes through space and time, and the hairs of her doll can sew the holes back together, allowing her to vanish and appear wherever and whenever she wants and to tear apart and rebuild dimensions as she sees fit. Nobody knows her origins, how she obtained such power, or why she wants to put on this game in the first place, but she's constantly observing the players as she curiously watches to see what happens. Killing her ends the game and Riftopia entirely, but that's a feat easier said than done.

Backstory: While saying Virasqual is from Hell wouldn't be entirely accurate, it's at least in somewhat of the same ballpark. She, along with hundreds of others, is what's known as a dethrol, serving as a subject under the ruling member of the Dethrites lineage. The original Dethrites I was a powerful magical being, his absolute prowess never being precedented and never having been equaled by other humans born with magic, who in a fit of confidence seceded from society and kidnapped about twenty citizens to serve as the prototype dethrols, corrupting them with the coolest-looking transformative magic he could create. They were unwilling at first, but after going through the (albeit painful) transformation, mostly became accustomed to their new positions in life after realizing how well Dethrites could meet their needs (...and after the transformation had dulled their sense of ethics as well). All they needed to do was to go out on missions to pillage the lands and bring back goods. The people of this universe, being at approximately the technology level of our world at 1650 by the time Virasqual disappeared, are incredibly angered by the existence of these demonic barbarians, especially with how they aren't opposed to murder in order to get anything suitable for Dethrites, but they can't exactly do too much to damage them, so the dethrols became a simple fact of life.

However, dethrols aren't immortal. As time went by, some managed to mate and have kids, others had to be given magically-created kin, and even Dethrites himself, despite every successful attempt he made to extend his own lifespan, died eventually some 200 years later, leaving his slightly more dethrol-bred and substantially less magically inclined heirs to rule over the dethrols in his wake. There's no denying that a gracious helping of inbreeding happened early in the Dethrites timeline, and some evidence of this exists in even Virasqual herself today, but that's hardly hampered them as they stand today in numbers approaching one thousand.

The realm currently ruled by Dethrites XV shockingly looks something of a small modern town, although with mismatched architecture that doesn't even try to accommodate for beings who can't fly. Many industries where dethrols produce their own things have popped up, so the barbary of the past isn't as prevalent throughout the entire population as it had been before, but a good half of all dethrols still partake in it (making the place quite an effective communist state, as basically anyone can just murder a poor human and get free stuff to provide themselves and their neighbors if they want); Virasqual is one of these marauders. However, she also has taken up knitting, because a person's gotta have hobbies. Virasqual lives independently and isn't currently smitten with anyone, and she does love her still-living dethrol parents.

Also man I KNOW Virasqual is black but I SWEAR there are other dethrols who AREN'T black SO THIS ENTIRE THING ISN'T SUPER RACIST PLEASE I'VE ALREADY AFFIRMED HER APPEARANCE IN MY MIND AND THEN I WROTE THIS LATER AND THERE'S NO GOING BACK NOW
Personality: You'd think being half-demon would mean that Virasqual is super hot-headed and constantly becomes filled with rage, but she could much better be described as apathetic. She doesn't care too much about the consequences of her actions, and nothing surprises her all too much. That said, she does like to put on a show sometimes of being very angry, just because it's fun, and also because she likes being feared. Virasqual does have emotions besides that, but they only really manifest over a conversation. Not even with anyone she has to particularly trust, it's just that meaningful talk motivates her to actually communicate how she's feeling, and to also feel much more deeply. When just standing around, it feels a smidgen pointless to emote.
Powers and Abilities: Like all other dethrols, Virasqual can fly and has very sharp claws on her hands. Like MOST other dethrols, she can also do cool short superspeed dashes, like how you see in all the video games. Finally, she can emit a powerfully bright (but generally harmless) beam of light out of her right eye! And if she FOCUSES REAL HARD, she can make it burst into a very tiny fire that's basically only useful for lighting your cigarette. However, she has a very common weakness between dethrols: she is ludicrously warm natured, and the huge scarf she wears is all she can do to not feel uncomfortably cold at room temperature. If it's 40 degrees out, she's basically not going to go outside for fear of frostbite.
Weapons and Items: Not only doesn't she have any items, but carrying things is actually a bit of a problem for her, as her hands are very gnarled and make it very awkward to hold things, and especially swing weapons around. Usually she'd have a large basic purse-like object to allow her to carry things in bulk but CLEARLY SHE DIDN'T GENERATE WITH ONE.

Appearance: Image
He can alternate between full human, full wolf (clothes are loose/elastic enough to keep from tearing, don’t worry), and anything in-between, but he prefers this “half” form the most.
Backstory: Kendo comes from a dimension not unlike feudal Japan, but definitely not the same. He was raised to be a samurai, and served his lord for several years. One day, while walking home, he noticed a hungry fox and decided to feed it. The fox quickly revealed itself to be an old fox spirit and, for reasons unknown to Kendo, chose to give him the gift of sharper senses and sharper instincts by turning him into a werewolf.

Unfortunately, when he returned, his lord only saw his new gift as a curse. Kendo was dishonored and banished, forced to live far from major cities where he would only be further shunned. In fact, the only reason he chose to live at all was because his wolf half game him a much stronger survival instinct. He now roams from village to village, making a living as a mercenary.

Personality: Though his life as a samurai is over, (most of) the strict code of honor that came with it is not something one simply forgets. However, due to his mind being combined with that of a wolf, he is also partially bound by the laws of nature. Overall he has a rather stern attitude, the kind that gets told, “You must be fun at parties,” often.
Powers and Abilities: Is trained in "the way of the sword", also his namesake, and his time spent as a werewolf has given it a more feral twist, often incorporating partial transformations (though he still needs human hands to properly wield his swords). His wolf half also gives him enhanced senses, especially smell.
Weapons and Items: Only his daisho, a katana with a smaller companion sword.

Backstory: Laura comes from a dimension very much like our own. However, technology advanced much more slowly than good old Earth Prime here. Show someone from their dimension something like an automobile, and they wouldn't know what to do with it. Tech simply isn't considered a priority. As such, there's a much larger focus on various art forms. Painting, music, gardening, whatever comes to mind. Other than the lack of tech focus, Laura's dimension is virtually identical to ours, and Laura is considered normal in virtually every way...
Personality: Laura's a bashful woman by nature, and not often organized. She is almost completely nonviolent, and a quiet person (especially around men), but bursting with creative ideas. Because of the dimension she comes from, she has an old-fashioned attitude. Oftentimes, she can be pretty down on herself for one reason or another.
Powers and Abilities: Laura... has an artistic side to her? I guess? That counts, right?
Weapons and Items:
Handcuffs: Laura always keeps one shackle on her wrist, claiming they're a good luck charm. I suppose it can also be a flail? Maybe?

Backstory: In some circles of what we'll call Earth Delta for convenience's sake, there are quiet whispers of a species of bird who steals the souls of anyone it looks at. Even just speaking of it loud enough sends the more superstitious ones into a panic for fear they'll be targeted next. Krea is one of these birds. These birds are thought to be relatives to phoenixes, although evidence proving this has yet to appear in Earth Delta. How and why this species claims people as their own are largely mysteries. Some speculate that it's a survival tactic, whilst others say they're trying to form a symbiotic relationship with humans.
Powers and Abilities: Krea is capable of comprehending situations around her to the extent of a normal human. She is also almost constantly in perfect control of another being, most often a human. This human becomes known as a Vessel, and acts upon Krea's will. Once a human becomes Krea's Vessel, the relationship between them lasts until either of the two expire, meaning Krea cannot switch Vessels at will. If the Vessel expires, Krea finds a new one by making contact with them. If Krea dies, the Vessel returns to their usual self, with no memory of anything that happened while Krea was in control. Krea does not grant any special abilities to her Vessel, and instead must rely on what skills they had already.

Oh yeah, Krea's a bird so she can fly and do other bird things.
Personality: Krea is a no-nonsense sort, and wise beyond her years, meaning wise at all. Because... y'know... Krea's a bird. She does make a habit of attempting to blend her Vessel into a crowd, but the Vessel's speech patterns may sometimes give away they aren't who they once were.
Weapons and Items:
Audrey: Krea's current Vessel, a 14-year-old girl. Audrey has no special abilities, skills, or weapons for Krea to take advantage of. Also, her skin is slightly darker than depicted.

Backstory: Yuko's dimension is very similar to ours, with one key difference. In our dimension, some people believe in "spirit animals." In Yuko's, they actually exist. The spirit animals physically manifest sometime around a person's 16th birthday. The lives between the person and their spirit animal are linked: if one dies, the other does, too. The spirit animal itself cannot die due to old age, disease, or things like that unless the human it's bonded to dies. The animals, however, are corporeal, and can be physically injured. If someone's spirit animal takes too much punishment... well... you can imagine. Yuko's spirit animal is a large shark, which she named Fuka.
Personality: Yuko takes a remarkably easygoing attitude to life. She never sweats the small stuff, and even when things get dire for her, her casual demeanor hardly ever wavers.
Powers and Abilities: Her life is linked to Fuka, her shark. As such, if the two get in a hairy situation, they tend to tag team until the problem goes away. She with her two katanas, which she is fairly good with, and Fuka with its sharp teeth and brute strength. Fuka is also able to breathe and swim through air like it's water... as well as, y'know, breathe and swim underwater. Yuko, however, is (predictably) not capable of breathing underwater.

Backstory: Ahmy is an amnesiac. The only bit from her past she can even kind of remember is her sister, or rather that she has one, named "Sicily". Other than that, Ahmy knows that she is a human, around the age of 16, and that she is slowly dying.
Personality: Ahmy has little to no memories of her past and basically no desire to get them back either. She's very listless and doesn't really care about anything except finding her sister. On top of that she's not exactly her own biggest fan either. She doesn't like talking to other people and when she does tends to be sarcastic and rude. When she was little she used to be a much nicer person. As a result, old habits of hers tend to resurface. For one thing she tends to be a bit nicer to younger people (IE kids) and while she doesn't like people, if they are in serious danger and she can help she typically will.
Powers and Abilities: Ahmy can remove memories from her head at will and store them in other things, objects, concepts, people etc. Over use of this power has caused her brain to deteriorate which is why she's slowly dying and also why she's lost some of her memories. When a memory is removed it appears in the form of a soap bubble, which if looked inside, plays the memory back like a video. The memory can then be stored in an object, concept, or person. If put in an object, the object itself must be touched, or broken or something for the memory to be returned. If placed in a concept, like water or a certain bread of dog, seeing that thing will cause the memory to return. (Putting the memory inside "running water" will return the memory when/if water is seen). If the memory is put in a person, it can only be retracted by removing it once more and placing it back into the original owners head.
People with memories put in them will not think the memory is their own, or even really think about it, however if they do something similar to what was put in their head they may get deja vu.
Memories cannot be extracted from their original owner except by their original owner.

Backstory: In a different dimension, in a reality similar to yet unlike our own...

In the distant future of 1532, humanity achieved the ultimate accomplishment of all the times, as scientists the world over had worked together to discover the greatest source of energy, one that could never truly be depleted and that wouldn't be hazardous to the environment... STYLE. Yes, it's true! Style was discovered to truly be the ultimate source of power that all of humanity had been craving, the answer that countless battles had been fought to discover! A brand-new type of technology could tell you how stylish someone else was. It was specifically an eyepatch that functioned as a scanner for the "style level" of other people. It was quickly discovered that people with higher Style levels had magical powers that they could harness through the power of dance. When dancing, great feats were capable! Someone could dance while doing battle, and their body would become much more durable, and their attacks that much more striking! Really, it improved everything! Cooking skill, sneaking skill, sports skills, underwater basket-weaving, and basically anything that you could think of! True power was available, especially to those with higher Style levels.

But how could one raise their Style level? Was it an unjust system where people were just randomly assigned a level at birth and couldn't hope to change their fate? No! Style depended on one's dancing skills, as well as their clothes! About the clothes... It doesn't matter whether or not your outfit actually matches or makes any sort of logical sense. Different clothing items awarded different amounts of style points, causing people to try to put on as many different clothing items as possible and look completely ridiculous as possible. It's actually something of a miracle that Monty doesn't look much weirder than he already does, but more on that later.

With people being ranked by a very specific metric, mass amounts of chaos ensued. More wars were fought between nations, trying to compete to have the ultimate amounts of STYLE (no one died in these wars because these battles were more like competitive dance-offs). Eventually, it was decided that there was only one way to truly decide who was the most deserving nation to be crowned the most stylish in the world: through giant robot dance battles. A new technology had been developed to allow multiple people to board giant robots and use their STYLE magic to make the robots dance. This soon escalated when someone got the bright idea to have these take place in space, because it was cooler. People soon realized that it was "cooler" both literally and figuratively, and everyone obeyed because there was no way they were going to deny that amazing pun the justice that it deserved.

Monty was one of the ones who fought in these giant robot dance battles, while also taking part in football game dance battles as well (or Soccer if you prefer, but it's not called Soccer anywhere in this dimension). The world was threatened when a new evil scientist invented the ultimate in eyepatch technology: it was an eyepatch that would allow him to adjust his own style level to be as high as he wanted to be. He declared himself the ruler of the world, and for his own amusement, he set up a tournament where the winner would be allowed to face him for the throne to the world. Of course, he would still be cheating, so that was quite the conundrum.

Eventually, Monty advanced through the ranks and was crowned the #1 contender for the title of "ruler of the world". However, Monty knew that he could not win this fight head-on. So, before the day of his fateful battle, he sneaked into the evil scientist's moon base using all of the knowledge that he had gained from playing Style Gear Solid (as well as his own Style level helping, of course). He was successfully able to steal the eyepatch that would have doomed him, since it wasn't always on the evil scientist's face (it needed some maintenance, after all). The evil scientist (who had no name because he thought names were for squares) was outraged, but Monty's actions didn't violate the rules at all. Everyone looked forward to the one-sided battle that would ensue on the day of the final battle...

... Only to be shocked to discover that Monty had disabled the eyepatch's ability to raise his own power level or lower the power level of other people, realizing the potential it had to corrupt him if he just left it the way it was. It was an epic fight where the evil scientist had at least a million final forms before Monty emerged victorious, and he was declared ruler of the world. Since then, months have gone by and Monty has managed to keep the peace through the power of his honest passion about the power of style, and how it could never be corrupted as long as you believed in the heart of the style.

Personality: Monty is the type of person who is very self-assured of his own skills and believes that lacking confidence in himself would be an insult to all the opponents that he has managed to defeat. This sometimes approaches arrogance when he brags about never knowing failure, though it can be hard to tell how genuine that arrogance is, since at least part of it can be assumed to be a joke. Monty loves learning new skills, especially if he can incorporate dance somehow, and is also a particularly good football player, which is reflected in his dancing/fighting style. However, it is worth noting that while Monty is considered friendly in his own home dimension, his dimension's values differ from that of others, so he may come across as utterly random or untrustworthy as a result.

But mostly it's just important to remember that Monty wants to have fun. He also has difficulty treating serious situations with the proper gravitas, due to his own dimension's values about that sort of thing. Since he's used to being king of the world, he will also find it confusing to NOT be treated as a king anymore.

Powers and Abilities: While his powers of Style are somewhat diminished outside of his own home dimension, Monty is still capable of many feats. By dancing, he is able to achieve great physical feats, and he is particularly proud of his blocking skills. He was well-known for being one of the greatest football keepers of his world, meaning he could harvest his style energy to stop even the most violent of goal attempts. What this means for him in particular is that through dancing, he is able to summon a giant magical hand made of energy to stop the ball in the middle of the air. He is truly the ultimate defender. ... Though as a rather noticeable downside, despite his power, he has never been in a "real" violent fight. He will be incredibly confused if someone just tries to shoot him with a gun without dancing first or something. Also probably offended.

Weapons and Items: Already described in powers and abilities. He does have an eyepatch that is supposed to tell him the Style level of other people, but due to the fact that other dimensions probably don't operate under the same rules, it's very likely that he'll get an error message or something from trying to scan other people here.

Backstory: She’s a human! But that being said, the dimension where she comes from is different from Earth, so I’ll go into detail about that.
In her world, everyone has innate magic in them. Some people’s magic powers are stronger than others. However, people can’t just use their magic just straight out – they need some sort of object to actualize their magic powers with. Amy was a person who loved music, so she focused her powers on music magic powers.
So what did she do? She joined a band (called Kawaii Metal), of course. And, as an avid music fan, she practiced and got good at all the parts for metal music. Drums, guitar, bass, vocals… You name it!
And so the band she formed with some other friends of hers got moderately successful – they toured around their country and got decently popular, and all was good. Yay.
In her free time, she liked to go around in the wild, attracting wild animals with her magic music skills. One animal in particular that she really liked was a bunny (IE: the one sitting on her head), whose name is Mr. Fluffies. He’s also the mascot for her band.
Personality: She’s an optimist at heart. She gets super enthused about her music, and she loves being able to share it with the world. She’s a pretty happy person, I’d say.
Powers and Abilities: She has music-based combat! With her guitar, she’s able to Peid Piper animals into following her, and she can use her microphone to command them to do certain actions. She can also use her mic and drums to disrupt enemies purely by being noisy.
Obviously, she can actually sing, play the guitar, and play the drums well.
Weapons and Items: She (in magic hammerspace) carries a black wireless microphone, as well as a bright red electric guitar, and a full drum kit. ~MAGIC~

Backstory: In Western culture, there exists the fairly secular belief that, once one dies, a dire cloaked being known as the grim reaper leads the victim to their destiny, regardless of what that may be. In one universe, this figure is real, though she has a different name: Ikiba.

Ikiba to mortals has somewhat varying appearances, but she always has a very pale face, a white kimono, and her characteristic Lantern of Ends (most depictions of her cohere to the design above though because of how fitting her dull gray eyes are). It's said that upon the death of a human, they are transported to a featureless black void, where only Ikiba exists to shepherd them to the entrance of the afterlife, the Lantern lighting the way. Sometimes, minutes before and after certain people expire, the ghost of Ikiba is reportedly spotting waiting or transporting to the spot of their death.

In reality, Ikiba is actually a set of nine "sisters," each of which are named Ikiba, differentiated generally by hair and eye color, as well as the look of their wings. They aren't JUST the lighthouses of the dead, as they effectively act as the advisors to the actual heavenly ruler of the afterlife. See, as it turns out, the afterlife in this universe is like a giant utopian country—a full executive system and everything. Specifically, it's called Belofuren. Of course, since no one has any needs after they're dead, there's hardly any crime, and there isn't too much demand of most of the industries there exist in the mortal world, and the jobs that people do want are generally manned by soulless heavenly imps, but it's still a bit of a hassle to administrate. I swear. Like, how do you deal with someone who keeps locking people up in their basement, while still keeping them content? Issues like this, as well as how to best build up infrastructure and introduce new supported programs with their seemingly infinite resources and such are dicussed by the Ikibas. In addition, there are different afterlife "countries" outside of Belofuren for each and every planet with a sapient species in the universe with similar structures, and it would be a lie to say the higher-ups get along perfectly.

But, back to leading the dead! Basically, the whole black void thing is a sort of w-dimension minisculely displaced from reality where souls of mortals are suddenly shunted to when their body no longer becomes useable. The Lantern of Ends allows Ikiba to transport through these w-dimensions through faults in reality and lead the dead to Belofuren, which occupies a dimension very far away from the one humans occupy. Some areas of this void on certain dimensions are weaker than others, and so, allow for much faster travel, hence the odd meandering route it seems Ikiba follows. This whole w-dimension thing also explains how ghosts appear—they're souls who lost Ikiba somehow, and wander a w-dimension very close to reality, and so sometimes their being overlaps partially with it, causing odd visions in humans. They don't wander forever or anything, though, as Ikiba isn't merciless—her and her sisters try and put up search and rescue operations for these lost souls, but it can often take years, even centuries.

Personality: Ikiba stays generally reverent and respectful, but can chat on and on with you if something strikes her fancy enough. What drives her most is her passion to please everyone, something basically psychologically necessary with her job description, and that's going to apply here, even when she's not dealing with immortals like she usually is. Understandibly, though, death as a consequence holds hardly any weight for her, which may come into conflict.

Powers and Abilities: She can float freely—not with the wings, those are purely aesthetic. This isn't a very fast mode of transportation, however, slightly slower than just walking. She can also make her hair and kimono float individually, which certainly looks cool, even if it has no practical benefit. That's all she can really do out of the norm, though.

She also has expert knowledge of military strategy.

Weapons and Items: Ikiba has the Lantern of Ends, which should, even in this odd parallel universe, travel the w-dimensions, effectively enabling her to become incorporeal and pass to wherever she wants. Though, she can only SEE between the dimensions enough to tell if she can't pass through a certain location due to, like, a wall being there, so it's not super precise. It can act as a blunt weapon too, I guess.
