"I'm really starting to lose interest in this whole escapade. I grow tired of waiting. Surely the other two ships are willing to send envoys in the positions of their captains should they be unable to get their feet to walk a few yards to this position?!" spat Merrik, his arms folded, staring down the poor officer that had been assigned to take him. He had been there for the best part of 15 minutes. Punctual, he thought. Of course, he was incredibly impatient.

Still, he waited. 5 more minutes, then he would demand to see the generals by himself.

So, I decided that I'd like to see what would happen character wise if I completely reversed one of my characters personalities.

Character Name: Kageno Kumori
Race: Human
Age: 24
Ship: The Avenger
Colony of Origin: Vulcanas
Appearance:
Similar to this except all the black is white and the gun is a metal laser one.
Personality: This Kageno is a genuinely friendly and happy character who's main passion is spacecraft design, improvement and repair. In fact, the only thing he has in common with his original self is that he's arrogant, intelligent and has the same laugh. In stark contrast to the original, he want's to use his intelligence to help and teach others and has a very clear idea of right and wrong.
History: This Kageno is a recent graduate from university, with a fresh, passionate interest in the new technology of space travel. He was born from a rather wealthy and educated family and has always been naturally highly intelligent. When the first spacecraft prototypes and information was released, Kageno developed a massive interest in the craft. Using all his knowledge to develop better ways to run and fuel the crafts. Eventually, he was accepted into one of the top schools of engineering and technological science. Graduating with top marks he plans to tackle any problem aboard the Avenger head on.
Equipment & Weapons: A tool kit filled with all sorts of things for fixing any problems that should arise, a computer for running simulations and working on his theories and, of course, a non-lethal laser gun (of course it will still cause damage and can even knock out enemies.)

This character is mainly fine, but there is a problem with his backstory. Space travel has been around for more years than he's existed, we've colonized other planets and had generations of other people live there. Seeing as he's only 24 there's no way he was a part of the early spacecraft.

So you may need to change that before you are accepted.

Hm? Did I state that? I merely mentioned that he was fascinated with it since it first came out. If it came out more than 24 years ago, then that's a problem. Though I thought it was said that it's relatively new...

Space travel has been around for much, much longer than 24 years. No matter how old you make him, it's really unlikely he was involved with its early development. You can keep the whole "good with spaceships" thing, but not in that context. Maybe he's helped design some more recent ships for the Galactic Alliance?

The medics on site rushed the quarantined crew members to the docking bay infirmary. Together they scanned the sedated bodies for information on their exact sickness. The information was sent to a computer, within seconds result came back to the medical officers wrist mounted computer. It told them any known sicknesses, any known medicines for the sickness and other basic information. Upon receiving Leon Coder's information the staff laughed as they noticed he had only a minor flu. They administrated an injection to wake him from the sedatives and another to counter the flu.

"Leon, you're fine. Its only a flu, follow this man. He'll lead you to your crew." The head medical officer said waving over his assistant to escort him back to his ship.

Seeing that Merrick was getting impatient the officer in charge of taking him to the general waved at his fellow staff mates to go and retrieve the other captains.

"Merrick we'll leave now, the others will be with us shortly." With that the officer turned and walked to a nearby elevator.

Kerenth examined Clint's so called weapons. At first sight it may be seen as a messy workplace, in closer inspection it was easy to spot safety hazards. Exposed battery packs, loose wires, Kerenth didn't bother for too long instead he headed to the opposite end of the room with his back to Clint and placed his back on a bench.

"Those guns you've got there. They're a safety hazard out on the field, I'd recommend not using them" He said unzipping his bag.

Clint just rolled his eyes, not even bothering to leave his spot. If Kerenth didn't feel like speaking to face-to-face then that was his problem, not Clint's. So, the old man didn't appreciate his type? Very well. This was going to be good. Sure, Clint's weapons weren't exactly battle-worthy... or practical... or safe. But Kerenth wouldn't even give them a second glance, despite his status as a fellow engineer. Of course, Clint had spent half his life listening to the same old lecture in different words. It'd long since lost its meaning; it barely even qualified as an insult at this stage. But Clint was a man who very much enjoyed to talk back, especially when it wasn't at all necessary. He took a deep breath and cocked his head arrogantly.

"... This coming from the guy with a bunch of bombs strapped to his chest."

You can thank Kruiser for this one. He nagged me out of retirement for the sake of posting here.

Also, for the sake of dumbing things down a bit and making Heako a bit more realistic, I think I'd like to retcon out his cloaking generator; he can already walk on walls/ceilings, and I think that's enough. Any objections?
Actually, I can do it now. Considering my current position, it's actually very simple.

The Illusion:

Heako was not happy; In fact, he was furious. Fifteen minutes. Fifteen minutes he'd been stuck outside the Illusion, arguing with this pigheaded GA quarantine officer who refused to take "no" for an answer.
"I don't care what regulations have changed, you can't take it!" he snapped angrily. "Do you have any idea what this thing is worth?"

"I'm sorry sir, but that's not my problem." The officer shook his head. "The rules have changed, and now you can't bring LB tech on the Million Dollars without a permit."

"But I'm a captain." Heako set his mouth in a hard line. "Surely that doesn't apply to me."

"It applies to everyone, sir." The officer gave a small, tired shrug. "The permit needs to be issued by command and authorized by a fleet admiral - no exceptions."

"To hell with that; a permit takes weeks!" Carde exclaimed. "I don't have that sort of time on my hands!"

"Which means your cloaking system will have to wait in the ship lockup until you can get one issued. Sorry." The man shrugged a second time.

The corners of Heako's mouth turned downwards in a heavy scowl as he glanced across the massive docking bay. Calvia was finally being led away - most likely to see the admiral without him.
"Alright, fine," he spat the words out, detaching the end module to his wrist-mounted computer and handing it to the officer. "I want that stored and a permit put through, both of them under 'Captain H. Carde'."

"Yes sir." The tired-looking quarantine worker nodded, accepting the small block and saluting. "I apologize for the inconvenience."

"Yeah, sure," Heako replied bitterly, brushing past the man and breaking into a light jog. After half a minute he managed to catch up to Calvia as he and his guide neared one of the bay's many exits, falling into step beside his fellow captain.
"Sorry about that," he grumbled quietly. "Some officer wouldn't let me come aboard with my cloak system. Anyway, where's Holliday?"
