FINALLY. DONE. Late for Otakuthon, but worth it!
Spoiler : Application :
Name: Keiji Kagura

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Appearance:

Keiji is tall enough, but nothing special for a young man of his age, with a lean frame. His body is fit, but lanky rather than muscular, and is slightly tan due to the hours spent outside playing sports. His hair is brownish orange and is kept tidy for school, but otherwise has a messy look. His eyes are a clear, dim yellow color. His features are rather average, but regular. He has an approachable air.

Keiji usually favors comfort over fashion, but his clothes have that ‘cool’ sloppy look to them. He adheres to uniform rules, though, so he makes sure he looks acceptably neat before entering school. He wears a silver necklace with a spindly cross on it with a motif that vaguely resembles a fleur-de-lis.

Personality:

Keiji normally seems easygoing and friendly. He strikes up conversation easily and generally comes off as an all-around cool guy to hang out with. He participates in a couple of school activities, but he’s not too implicated in anything. A good word to describe him would be ‘moderate’. He doesn’t like to go sticking his nose in other people’s business, and though he’s fairly popular, he prefers to lay low. He’s also fun-loving and good-humored; he doesn’t mind getting into a bit of trouble and doesn’t often blame people for their mistakes. He doesn’t like to force his own opinions on other people, and though he likes to talk a lot, you’ll realize that you don’t often hear his opinions on big and important topics, which he seems to skirt around.

However, in reality Keiji doesn’t think much of it all. He’s naturally friendly, but doesn’t care all that much about his friends. He doesn’t dislike them, but he doesn’t have much of an emotional attachment to anyone. He also lacks motivation—not because there aren’t things he wants to do, but rather because he knows that he’ll drift through life on an already-paved path: there are guidelines, people, things that will help him through whatever he chooses to do. Society assures his protection. Keiji doesn’t resent this, per se, but finds that it makes things uninteresting. He dislikes placing his future in society’s hands, and feels like people will never be able to know what they are actually able to achieve by themselves. He knows that he, despite doing well in school and being well-liked by his peers, wouldn’t amount to anything by himself and that he, along with every other person, is reliant. Though he understands that it’s a need for security versus a need for individuality, he still views society as a sort of handicap: people follow trends and settle for what others choose, and go through already-established and secure but generic channels instead of trying to explore and make their way through a new path. He thinks that modern humanity has become complacent, including himself: he knows that he is protected and, as such, doesn’t really fear anything. As such, accidents and freak occurrences tend to fascinate him.

He understands that it’s rather necessary and voices no complaints about it, but sometimes he just feels like being reckless and doing something. But he’s smart enough to know that he can’t change anything, and always abides by the system, because that’s the ‘smart’ thing to do. This frustrates him, and he feels like he’s wasting his own potential, and he thinks that he’ll go through life without ever knowing what he’s truly capable of.

Keiji believes that humans show their true strength in times of hardship, suffering, or trial, which is why, deep inside him, he thinks of this blanket of security as a handicap. He thinks it’s truly remarkable how some people can overcome their weaknesses and rise up to meet whatever challenge, becoming amazing people in the process. But he knows that the thought of exchanging people’s happiness for the kind of world he would like is impossible and selfish of him, so he pushes it out of his mind, slightly guiltily. He never voices these thoughts to anyone, and hides them quite well from people.

Keiji loves unpredictable people, and people with big, wild dreams (probably because he has none) and tends to hang around them. He’s attracted to people are passionate about what they do or love, perhaps because it’s so beyond him to feel that way about ‘ordinary life’. History has always been a favorite subject: important figures of the past that have done drastic things that have changed the world, for good or evil, fascinate him. Thinking of that kind of world-changing power exhilarates him, and it’s maybe the only time he will outwardly show so much excitement. The chance to become a demon channeler was an awe-inspiring opportunity for him, and he hasn’t ever felt this hyper about anything.

History:

Keiji has always lived in the shadow of an older brother who was never born. His parents’ first child was stillborn. As such, they were particularly doting with him. He knows that he shouldn’t get all the things he wants so easily, and it does bother him. He feels like he has an easier time than most of his classmates. He’s unsure if his parents see him as himself or as his older brother come back to life, and is slightly insecure about it, because the thing most important to him is his identity.

When he was twelve, Keiji was witness to a shooting that had occurred in a public square. A woman who had been on the scene had flung herself between her child and the killer and managed to stop him despite getting shot twice. The act was overwhelmingly powerful to Keiji, and for the years to come it was a token that reminded him of humanity’s true strength. The mother’s sheer determination to protect her child regardless of the imminent danger of death had a lasting effect on him and he found himself wondering if all people were capable of such selfless and amazing feats. But later, he realized that he would never know, since he couldn’t just sic an armed killer on everybody to check, and it was unimaginable to hope for such a tragedy to occur again.

He met many other people after that: people who endured hardship but never caved in, and emerged as truly remarkable individuals. He admired these people greatly. But he always felt conflicted, because while he wished there were more of these kinds of people, he didn’t want others to suffer—even though he secretly believes it a worthy exchange.

Keiji has always been able to hear the voices of demons, ever since he was little, but they were no more than faint whispers in the dark. When he grew older and began to realize the significance of these whispers, he knew that there was something unexplained about the world. When Catharsis approached him and his family, his heartbeat had quickened to the point where he thought his heart would burst. He was suddenly faced with the realization that there was a whole other world out there, one bound by no rules, and he could enter it. No, he realized that he had been born with one foot in it all along. He gladly accepted Catharsis’ offer, even though his parents fretted and had refused quite frankly. It wasn’t that he disliked his family or that he was eager to leave it behind, but there was no way he could pass this chance up.

In the Ritual Chamber, he faced true fear for the very first time. He had always had people take care of him, and though he’d realized this and disparaged it, he’d still been reliant on that notion of safety. There in the Chamber, he was alone and bare, with nobody but himself who could help him. The battle against the first summon was not of their bodies, but of their essence: it was his self, his entire being, with all his weaknesses and strengths, that was tested. He’d never really felt afraid before, but he was utterly and absolutely terrified of the creature that appeared before him then. He’d never felt more relieved than afterwards when he realized that he’d survived.

Now he’s intrigued by the abilities granted by Familiars to their channelers and their relations with each other, especially by the power left in their bodies after channeling.

Well, sheesh. We've already got two uninterested, unpassionate characters... Now I'll feel bad for throwing mine in too.

I may want to re-work him, then.

Nah, Keiji's got plenty of enthusiasm for demon channeling. XD Normal life, not so much.

Spoiler : ZOMG I ACTUALLY GOT THIS DONE FTW :
Name: Daisuke Shiroi

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Appearance: An all-around average-looking man; not particularly tall or short, thin or muscular, or fat or thin. His physique is all-around average as well. He typically dresses in "casual work" clothes: a white shirt and tie, along with formal pants and shoes. He has short black hair, and wears rectangular glasses. His eyes are bright blue, the only striking part of his appearance, but he often times keeps them shut (but still can see because of anime magic). He is almost always wearing a wide, relaxed smile, giving him a very calm, all-knowing expression. His expression nearly never changes, even in dire situations.

However, when Channeling, his hair is slicked back, his eyes are wide and glow with power, and his relaxed smile becomes a manic grin. This goes along with his change in personality.

Personality:

Daisuke is a mysterious fellow. On the outside, his a typical man by most standards. Daisuke is very calm and relaxed, bordering on apathetic, even in intense situations. He cares little for what others think, and tends to act eccenticly more for the heck of it than anything else. One might call him "emotionless", but that isn't the case. He DOES have emotions, but he is overall extremely detatched and apathetic, caring little for anyone or anything besides his goals. He takes failure and defeat in stride, and continues to smile on, no matter what the situation.

Beneath his calm and somewhat impersonal front, he is secretly a much darker person; he thinks of humanity as a "foolish" race that needs the guidance of "a greater force". He thinks extremely lowly of humans as a whole, seeing them as "mere inscects, dropping rocks on each other". He does not hate humanity, though, as he sees it so lowly that he has ceased to despise them, instead opting to support them until his ultimate goal can be achieved. He believes that things of nature are far greater than humans, and that "there is more wisdom in the mew of a cat, or the wagging tail of a dog, than any single syllable uttered by mankind." As such, he considers animals superior to man, and hates abuse to them. He dislikes demons as well, seeing them as "monsters". However, this creates an odd contradiction-- He hates demons, but is intoxicated by their power. He wants the power they bring, but despises the creatures that use those powers for evil.

As for himself, he sees himself as something beyond human-- A protector or guide who must save humanity from itself. In this way, he is extremely arrogant and condescending, believing that he alone must reform the world. His plans and ambition is hidden beneath a layer of calm politeness.

His ultimate goals are a mystery, but he is quite dedicated to them, even going so far as "stooping to the powers of demons" if it means achieving them. He keeps these goals hidden, his endeavors known only to him. IT's discovered him one day, when he was attempting to flee from a demon, and gave him the chance to fight back. He gladly accepted, deciding to use the demon's powers to acheive his ultimate goals...

History: Daisuke and his younger sister, Kanya, were born to a wealthy family in Tokyo. Daisuke spent much of his time with his sister, taking care of her when she inevitably got into trouble. Daisuke has always known of demons, seeing them since his youth; but while he feared that at first, he soon came to realize that their power could bring something greater. He saw himself as "chosen" to become a leader for mankind. As time went on, he began to see more and more of the flaws of mankind-- Isolating himself more and more from other people. He began to fear humans, believing that they would one day destroy everything, and that wars would ravage the earth. Ultimately, as time marched on, he completely shut himself away; creating his calm and polite persona to conceal his resentment. Shortly after graduating high school, he vanished completely, leaving his family behind. With his sister left to run free, she got into much trouble and was eventually institutionalized. He has since wandered about the city, planning and waiting. He came into contact with IT's through a woman wearing blue, and has begun cooperating with them.

Familiar: Odin

The mythic King of the Gods, who surrendered his left eye in order to see the future. Father of Thor and armed with great powers.
He can unleash Mabufudyne on all foes.

Daisuke himself is adept at using Bufu and Zio.

I've read the main post in the actual Demon Channeling RP and I've got a quick question regarding the history. Will the RP itself explain how our characters get the familiars, or are we allowed to include the familiar in the characters history? Just something I'd ask before I tackle the history portion of my characters app.

Anyway, will be taking my time with my character app and hopefully will have it soon~

Nah, you don't need to mention the whole summoning ritual thing in the Chamber in detail. Your character can flash back to it in the RP, though, to establish backstory or whatnot. It's your choice.

PHEW, after so many days, I've finally finished my characters application. Hopefully this is acceptable XP~

Spoiler : Character App for Demon Channler :
Name: Hoshiko Izumi

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Appearance: Hoshiko has a very slim figure from the top, but her lower body seems to be very well developed and is about 5'8 in height. She has mostly pale skin. She possess spiky, down to her middle back, blonde hair with little circular swirls in her hair. She wears very elegant gloves, keeping in roots to her rich family heritage. Finally, she wears a very dark blue scarf around her neck and has two earrings that are shaped like stars that sort of hang.

One of the strangest features about her is her eyes. She has basically empty eyes, so empty that it is unknown whether she has a soul or not. They are a very light shade of green, no pupils are visible. These soulless eyes usually frighten people, because it's extremely hard to figure out what she is exactly thinking. It may have to do with the demon that would eventually be her familiar.

Personality: Hoshiko is a girl who seems to have an extremely calm personality and very rarely ever breaks this peaceful demeanor. She very much does like to communicate with people, so she is considered a very social person;however, she talks in a very low voice so it kind of gives people the wrong impression that she may actually be shy. She doesn't really like talking to men much, as they make her very nervous, but prefers to have long delightful conversations with females and most of the time hangs around them more often then men.

She seems to always have a happy expression, and due to her emotionless eyes it is near impossible to actually tell what she is thinking. She never seems to shed any emotion besides happiness, and it may even be a false happiness to fool people. One of the main things about her is that she very much loves spiritual and demonic readings and usually does her best to try and find these kinds of books, as she loves to embellish herself in them. Hoshiko's most absolute love though is anything regarding a persons "Fate". Anything regarding the destiny of humans and anything alike absolutely enthralls her and makes her extremely happy. Whether it be about marriage, success, or even death itself, she loves talking and hearing about the destiny of everything around her;however, this seems to also be one of her low points, due to the talk of fate usually disturbing people and making them feel uncomfortable. She doesn't seem to mind though, and seems to always find a way to gear a conversation towards the concept of destiny and the future.

Some of her favorite activities include reading books on various myths, demons and spiritual scripture; taking long walks in cloudy weather as it seems to give her a better piece of mind, and eating small bars of chocolate candy. She seems to have a very distaste for men, large animals and insects that have a scary image (scorpions, spiders, etc);however, she doesn't mind demon versions of these insects, which in a sense can be kind of confusing. She doesn't really talk to anyone unless they talk to her first, which usually seems to happen a lot, and beings to try and depict a persons fate if it seems fit to do so.

History: Hoshiko grew up with a rich family that held control over many factories all over the Tokyo area, making them one of the richest families in the entire country. Hoshiko was a shy girl that never talked to anyone much, except usually her older brother, and usually loved spending time alone reading books about the supernatural and various mythologies around the entire world. She never really had many friends and her parents became worried that her anti social attitude would hurt her future, as she is meant to take over the family name when she was old enough. Even in school, she had never really spoken to anyone, she always preferred being alone in the library or in the bathroom to read her books when she was able to. One day, She happened upon a book though that would eventually give birth to her most absolute love, the future and fate of those who lived on this planet. It had fascinated her extremely to know how the threads of destiny would effect everyone and where their lives would lead.

Although Hoshiko didn't talk to people much, she would always talk to her older brother, who was named Ren Izumi, and he would always gladly listen to what she had to say. Ren was probably the closes person she ever had and talked to him every single day. She would converse with him about the concept of fate and how in the end, it could end up being your friend or turn its back on you. She thought that destiny would be kind to her family and always lead them down the path of happiness, of course this would not happen though. Her brother would eventually develop a terminal disease, which eventually had taken his life not too long after. This was probably one of the worst days Hoshiko had ever experienced in her life and fell into a deep depression that would last many months. Hoshiko's parents became extremely worried about their daughter and would try everything they could to cheer her up, but unfortunately they had no avail. Thoughts of suicide would eventually cloud her mind and she fell deeper and deeper down the hole of depression. It seemed that all hope was lost for her.

One night though, she would eventually have a dream of a strange being which began to speak to her. She could not make out the image of this being, but it seemed to have talked in multiple voices to her. She couldn't make out much of what this being had to say, but there was one sentence that had gotten her attention. "Awaken us...we are the fates....awaken us.." Hoshiko woke up in a cold sweat and was dumbfounded by the strange dream she had experienced. This dream;however, would eventually keep occurring every night. It bothered her every day, who had kept talking to her she always had thought to herself? They called themselves "the fates", something that she had an extreme love for before the death of her brother. This was finally her ticket out of her depression, as she was now motivated to discover who this mysterious being was. To her luck, it would not take as long as she thought.

She would receive a phone call from IT, with an offer to join them, as they sensed her powerful potential. Without a second thought, she agreed to this offer, shortly realizing that her parents would not agree to such a thing. She would not stand it though, she needed to meet these mysterious beings that kept haunting her dreams, there was no other option. After packing her things and readying for the big night, she wrote a quick note to her parents which would say "Dear Mother and Father...I've gone to discover my own fate and form my own destiny. Farewell. Love, Hoshiko." After writing the note, she left it upon her bed and snuck out in the middle of the night, eventually meeting up with one of the agents and eventually starting her new life. She hoped that one day, she could apologize to her parents.

The time had finally come to meet the creature of her dreams, as she entered the Ritual Chamber and finally met the mysterious voice. Astounded by the demons appearance, it was actually more then just one that stood before her. She was speaking to the thing she truly loved, Fate. Towering above her, she was in a total state of shock of how huge and powerful they were, but Hoshiko didn't let that stop her and eventually began to speak with the being that kept trying to contact her. The goddesses questioned whether or not she was worthy to possess their power, but Hoshiko would prove them wrong. The battle would go on for many hours, until eventually the chamber door had open. She had survived and made it out...with a price that is...

She would not come out the same person as she had gone in, instead, it was like a completely different human stepped out of the chamber. Her eyes had lost it's pupils, as if she had no soul, and her skin was much paler. Apparently the power of the goddesses is too much for the young girl to handle alone, which in turn had sealed her own fate to inevitable death;however, Hoshiko did not mind such a fate. She had a new responsibility now. The goddesses, though slowly killing the girl, would assist her in anyway possible. Although she knew that she would slowly turn to dust eventually, for the first time ever...she was in control of fate. She now had the power to truly form her own destiny.

Familiar: Norn

"Goddesses of fate in Norse lore. Said to be giantesses.
They live below the roots of Yggdrasil and weave the threads of fate, which bind even the gods."

Whoo! Great to see you in here, Mina.

One thing about your app though: demon channeling isn't really supposed to have such a strong effect on the chaneler after only one channeling. The effects slowly build up over time, and that's when noticeable changes to the character's appearance happen. What happened to Hoshiko sounds more like what would happen DURING a channeling. You can keep the eyes, but could you change it so that Hoshiko only knows that it's slowly killing her, without visible effects yet? Trust me, they'll build up later. Also, it was written in the application form that there was no need for an outfit, since the characters wore uniforms. ^^' Also, I don't want to sound mean or anything, but keep a close watch on your grammar/spelling. You sometimes mixed up homophones in there, and your verb tense tends to fluctuate. Of course, that's no big deal, since we're in an RP to improve our imaginations and skills as writers, right? :D Anyway, make those little changes and your character is accepted!

Wow, seems I've messed up too much, how embarrassing. I guess I just wanted to feel just a bit unique but I guess that doesn't work. You know you fail when you suck at your own language lol.

Can you tell me where I made mistakes with verb tenses in like a PM or something, cause I'm not sure how to fix those mistakes.

EDIT: Removed the content about the clothes (except some things) and removed the content about her body breaking down.
EDIT 2: Fixed all the homophone errors that I could find and fixed some things in the personality/history sections.
