Spoiler : :
The city of Hirasaka: a rambunctious, technologically advanced city in the heart of gadgetry and fashion. From their iconic Three Gate Square, to the Circuit Road, and the massive malls, Hirasaka is filled with life and liberty. The latest in fashion and gadgets is always just around the corner, and the overlooking monitors of the Three Gates always have the latest thing flashing across their giant screens. A paradise for techies, fashionistas, and folks who just plain want to have fun, Hirasaka is where good times are had.
On the Otherside, however, things are quite different; there are no people, and the world is painted an eternal gray. The Otherside is a strange, quiet realm, where a lone figure roams, protecting humanity from that which might destroy them. This being is called the Herald, a solitary being who looks over humanity, keeping the monsters of the Otherside, called “Malevolence” at bay. For hundreds of years, peace has reigned in Reality and the Otherside.
Then it came.
A powerful Malevolence, calling itself "Thanatos", suddenly emerged in the Otherside. In its rampage, Thanatos began destroying the Otherside, causing mass chaos in the human world: epidemics, despair, depression, suicide, murder… All as result of the monster ripping apart the Otherside. Knowing that it had to be stopped, the Herald gallantly faced the beast—But even he could not stop it. Unable to defeat the beast, the Herald fled to the human world, hoping to find someone to save the Otherside.
His search took him to Yamada Shiyagi, a young office worker who was coming home late one night. The Herald, seeing good in his heart, begged the young man for help, offering to give him his power to do so. Shiyagi, while hesitant at first, accepted, and took on the Herald’s powers. With his new-found powers, Shiyagi managed to suppress Thanatos and keep him at bay—But all was not yet well. Shiyagi realized that the Otherside could directly affect Reality; his victories in the Otherside were beginning to change people, make them turn to his beliefs and admire him—and he loved it. With this new realization, he began to revel in his new power, the darkness in his heart growing day by day. Fearing the worst, the Herald attempted to take his powers back—But Shiyagi defeated him and forced him into hiding. Declaring himself “Lord Azrael”, he proclaimed that the Otherside would belong to him from then on.
Beaten and desperate, the Herald again called upon humanity to stop Azrael, sending his power to the people of Hirasaka in the form of Transformation Pins that granted them power, and the Password to access the Otherside. However, Azrael quickly revealed to the newcomers that they themselves could use the Otherside to achieve their goals—And it wasn’t long before gangs formed, and the battle for the Otherside began. And all the while, Thanatos still lurks in the dark… Watching and waiting.
Horrified at what he had done, the Herald continues to roam Hirasaka, sending out the Password and Pins to the people of Hirasaka, hoping that someone would arise to fix his mistakes; someone to save Hirasaka and the world…

Spoiler : :
You take the role of a high schooler in Hirasaka; be you a native-born or transfer student, you will begin with all other players on the first day of school at Sanazama High. Time will pass regularly in Hirasaka, and days will pass when sufficient activity has passed.
Your character is somehow involved in the battle for the Otherside, either a veteran member of the battles, or a newcomer who recently received the Password. When the Password is received, the recipient’s cellphone will also release a Pin, marked with a special design, along with the message “Don’t lose”; This is the Transformation Pin, which allows the players to Transform, as well as survive in the Otherside. You will need both your cellphone and the Transformation Pin to access the Otherside.
In order to enter the Otherside, the player must text the Password they received: “S@VE M3” to the address “SERVER”. The instructions for this are also in the initial message players receive. Note that if your character is a veteran to the Otherside, they do not need to receive the message when the RP begins. However, if you choose to have a character that is new to the Otherside, they will have to receive the message at some point.
Your character is also allowed to choose a Gang/Faction to side with in the Otherside. You may be unaligned, but this is highly dangerous and is not recommended. Each Gang is vying for power, and has a small “following” in Reality, which may grow larger or smaller depending on the number of victories the faction has.
The monster called Thanatos still exists, but due to the chaos in the Otherside, it has gone into hiding for a bit; however, it remains a constant presence within the Otherside, and its power can sometimes be felt when alone in the Otherside.

Spoiler : :
Each day will begin with the characters waking up and going to school. School will typically pass without event, and then the characters will be free to do as they please. At the start of each day, the Daily Fortune will be broadcasted across town, with the latest news, rumors, trends, and forecasts. These will be created daily by either a co-GM or me and will explain relevant plot details, as well as also show how the community is changing from the Otherside.
After class ends, the players will be free to do as they please, meeting up IRL to plan their course in the Otherside. Entering the Otherside may only be done once per day.
Once all players have returned to the Real World, the day will end, and a new one will begin.

Once all players have returned to the Real World, the day will end, and a new one will begin.
Spoiler : :
When entering the Otherside, your character transforms via the power of a Transformation Pin. When transformed, the character gains new powers and abilities that allow them to fight the denizens of the Otherside. Because humans cannot survive in the Otherside, they automatically transform when they transport to the Otherside. If the Transformation Pin is broken, lost, or otherwise removed, your character cannot transform, and will not be able to survive in the Otherside. When transformed, the Transformation Pin will bind itself to your Transformation, allowing you to survive. This is your “weak point” of sorts, and you must guard it well. If it sustains too much damage, you will automatically be sent back to Reality; if it is damaged badly enough, the Pin itself may break, leaving you unable to fight anymore. The Pin must appear in a visible area on your body, and cannot be hidden. However, it doesn’t have to be a huge spot, and is roughly the size of a real-life pin. It may appear wherever you choose, but cannot be in an area that is impossible to hit or an area that is impractical E.g. No placing the pin on your behind. Touching the pin will allow your character to return to Reality, so it is important to keep the spot in a place that could be reached. The pin may also bear a symbol, if you like, but it is not required.
Transformations in the Otherside typically look similar to the Noise from TWEWY (See here) in colorful forms that resemble street art and are typically animal-themed, though they do not necessarily have to be, and may be whatever you wish. The Transformation should have a significant connection to the character in one way or another, as should its powers.
Lastly, players cannot Transform outside of the Otherside.

Spoiler : :
In order to transport to the Otherside, the players use their cellphone to text the password “S@VE M3” to an address called “SERVER”. When the message is sent, the player then disappears and transports to the Otherside, automatically transforming when they arrive. The player will appear in the Otherside in the same location as they left. To return, the player must touch their pin and desire to return. This is so players do not accidentally send themselves back by touching their pin on accident. Because it requires so much energy, players may only enter the Otherside once per day.

This RP contains two major locations: the city of Hirasaka and the Otherside. The city of Hirasaka is the default location. All characters begin in Hirasaka when first entered. Hirasaka can be considered the “hub world” where characters can relax or spend time when not battling in the Otherside. In Hirasaka, your character cannot transform, and is mostly defenseless, unless they carry some sort of weapon (with good reason, e.g. getting the weapon from a parent). However, very little, if any, fighting will occur in Hirasaka.
There are four areas in Hirasaka, all divided by the Three Gate Square.
· Residential: North of Three Gate Square, this is where most of the locals live. It is relatively quiet compared to the rest of the town, but thrill-seekers and street art can be found here. Notable Locations: Sanazama High, Players’ Homes
· Circuit Road: The premier gadget location of Hirasaka, where the latest in gadgets and gear can be found. Known to be rather rough on the wallet. Lies beyond the left gate in Three Gate Square. Notable Locations: Gadgetry shops, METRO CORP building, Hirasaka Radio Tower
· Fashion Road: The fashion hotspot of Hirasaka, filled with hip clothes and styles. Most likely where your character got their clothes, be them local or not. Often packed and filled with people. Lies past the right gate in Three Gate Square. Notable Locations: Clothing stores, Fashion Shows, Starwalk Inc.
· Central Road: Beyond the center gate in Three Gate Square lies the “heart” of Hirasaka. Filled with malls and business buildings, it holds less of the thematic charm of Circuit or Fashion Road, but retains the lively hustle and bustle of the city. Most of the workers in the city work here, and if you’re in search of a good time, simply drop by the amphitheater to catch the latest concert. Notable Locations: R-Dome Amphitheater, business buildings, restaurants, Anaconda Mall
Important Locations:
· Sanazama High: The starting location for players. Players will begin as a high schooler in Sanazama High, and will go there at the beginning of each day. You may use this time to gather with allies and strategize before entering the Otherside. Entering the Otherside from school is not allowed, as it would cause many difficulties and raise suspicion.
· Anaconda Mall: Located in Central Road, Anaconda Mall is a frequent hangout for high schoolers looking to kill some time. More importantly, however, it’s an easy entry point to the Otherside, and is a “neutral ground” in the Otherside, allowing quick access to the Otherside. Also, the mango smoothies aren’t bad.
The Otherside is where the majority of the action takes place. It has the same layout and map of Hirasaka. However, the people will vanish, leaving only the fighters present in the city. The world of the Otherside is entirely dark and gray, with only a faint white light in the sky to substitute for a sun. The domain is also filled with beasts that roam the Otherside, called “Malevolence”. (More in the Malevolence section.) These beasts make it difficult to travel through the Otherside alone, and encourage groups to enter in at once, rather than lone outsiders going in at once.
The Otherside contains the same areas as Hirasaka, but a different faction controls each. (See Gangs/Factions)

Malevolence:
Spoiler : :
Malevolence come in all shapes and sizes, but typically pose little threat to experienced fighters (though there are exceptions). Like the Transformations, they appear similar to the Noise from TWEWY, but are often less powerful than Transformed humans and act on instinct. They are beings born of human hatred and malevolence, and only desire to cause despair and misery to humanity. They will instantly swarm on any lone human that appears in the Otherside, though they tend to steer clear of groups of three or more. They serve as basic foes in the Otherside, but more formidable Malevolence may appear as the game goes on. Defeating Malevolence also increases your following in Reality.
The Herald, along with his initial message, also sends a brief compendium of the Malevolence that will be encountered in the Otherside.
Forms of Malevolence include:
· Lust: Bright pink, toad-like creatures with wide glowing eyes and a deadly shockwave attack. They are the most commonplace Malevolence, alongside Envy, and are easy to defeat. They are roughly the size of a small dog, and are physically weak with little resistance to any form of attack. They will often form groups and attack in synch, creating a powerful shockwave attack to stun their foe before ganging up on it. They have no weaknesses, save their own general weakness.
· Envy: Neon green bats lined with glowing spikes on their backs. Like Lusts, they are not very powerful, and attack in groups. They are small and numerous, and swoop down to attack the enemy from afar. However, they have the ability to multiply themselves at will, making them dangerous to face alone. They are weak to electricity.
· Sloth: Sloth is a rare form of Malevolence that usually travels on its own. It resembles a large, hulking gray gorilla, which drags its knuckles through the streets. Extremely slow moving and slow thinking, it can be easy to underestimate—But it is quite powerful when pushed to the limit. Though it has tremendous strength and is capable of punching craters into the earth, Sloth rarely bothers to use its full power until it is on the verge of death. They are weak to air.
· Gluttony: Gluttony takes the form of a large, purple crocodile. Its main mode of attack is to lurk in the shadows, then surprise enemies by attacking with its massive, razor-sharp jaws. They are capable of devouring almost anything, and their teeth are strong enough to slice through steel. They are weak to flames.
· Greed: Greed is a Malevolence that travels alone, like Sloth, but is considerably more dangerous. Greed is a large, blue panther, with sharp claws and deadly fangs. It also has the distinct power of devouring other Malevolence and taking their powers. (E.g. Eating a Lust will give it a shockwave attack, eating an Envy will let it multiply) They are weak to ice.
· Wrath: Wrath is the second most powerful Malevolence, and it shows. Wraths appear as bright yellow wolves with a set of knife-like fangs and a constant scowl. They travel in packs of five or six, and are more than a match for a single human adversary. They work entirely on rage, and will viciously attack with their claws and teeth. Once they have wounded their prey, they will never give up, and track it down with their power of smell. They are weak to earth.
· Pride: The most dangerous of the Malevolence, Pride takes the form of a large red lion, which often resides atop high areas, like rooftops and towers. Prides are incredibly strong, and are capable of wiping out small gangs single-handedly. They are never seen together, however, and will rarely leave their territory. They can summon Lusts, Envys, and Sloths to battle in their place, not bothering to fight unless they must. However, in combat, Prides are incredibly powerful, boasting unparalleled strength and speed, as well as devastating flame attacks. They are weak to water.

Within the Otherside, several factions have arisen and are currently vying for power. As a player fighting in the Otherside, it’s up to you to choose a side in the battle, or create your own. If you wish, your character may be the leader of an unclaimed faction. There are four major factions so far:
· The Empire: Azrael’s faction. It is one of the largest and most organized, with full ranks, similar to a military. It serves mostly as Azrael’s army, and he keeps in contact with members of the Empire IRL. The members, mostly, are loyal to Azrael and follow his orders, whatever they may be. For the most part, they enforce his orders in the Otherside and will often be found guarding territories or fighting Malevolence to increase Azrael’s influence. Their base is the METRO CORP building.
· Jigoku Riders: Led by "Roc" [DeHughes]. A faction whose goal is to take the Otherside simply for the sake of taking it. Despite their name, the Jigoku Riders are typically very friendly and civil, seeing the Otherside as a chance to save humanity from "tyranny". They appear rather nice on the surface, but their true intention is to remove all authority from the world, and make humanity "free". Perfect for rebels and those who defy authority. Their base is the R-Dome Amphitheater.
· Outlaws: A faction that believes that humanity should stay the way it is. They oppose all forms of change, and despise authority. They believe that mankind should choose its own path, and not be ruled by any ideals. They are independent and strong-willed, who believe in the power of standing on one’s own two feet. Their base is the Starwalk Inc. building.
· Hirasaka Angels: Led by Kana Saito [GuardianDreamer] A newly-born faction that wishes to preserve humanity by eliminating all other gangs. They have no set philosophy, but all agree that the other gangs are an immense danger to Hirasaka and will eliminate them at all costs. They have no set base, and often operate in teams.
· Roaring Tigers: An ambitious, upstart faction filled with punks, brawlers, and those that want power for themselves. Most are willing to double-cross and back-stab, but all share a common goal: Power. They want Hirasaka to themselves and make it a point to crush anyone in their way. They are the loosest of the gangs, with no set leader, and simply travel in packs to survive. They are scattered out and have no set base.
· Ouroboros: Led/created by "Red Snake" [PhantomMina]. A small, recently created gang consisting primarily of Akane and her friend Chiharu. Their philosophy is "Pure Strength and Pure Mind" and "Might Controls Everything".
Roaming the streets are a large group of small gangs, each rather weak; these gangs can be taken over to form your own faction. Factions require at least 5 or 6 characters to create, or by defeating the leader of another faction. These smaller gangs can be taken down and assimilated into your crowd. If you wish to create your own gang, you will need:
Name: Whatever you like
Philosophy: Something simple, what the entire gang believes
Base: Cannot select an already claimed base
If you manage to successfully create a new gang, it will be added to the OP.

I do want to see a good amount of effort go into these apps. Call me elitist, but I want a good amount of effort going into the appearance, personality, and background sections. If I see bare-bones applications with little effort involved, I will reject them outright. You can have a total of three characters.
Username: Obligatory username spot
Name: Hirasaka is obviously a Japanese city, so characters should have a Japanese name, unless they are from other countries
Age: Anywhere from teenage to young adult. Reason being that characters should have a reasonable amount of free time to interact in the Otherside.
Appearance: Fashion is a big deal in Hirasaka, describe the character's taste in clothing, their "style" and how it matches their personality.
Personality: This is a big one, so at least two solid paragraphs should go into this section. Basically tell us who your character is, how they act, their likes, dislikes; everything that makes them who they are.
Background: A short paragraph or so of the events leading up to them entering the battle in the Otherside. Include notable events that have molded their personality. For characters that either moved/transferred to Hirasaka, you can tell where they came from and the life they grew up with.
Other Notable Facts: Anything else you wish us to know about that isn't mentioned above, such as relatives or jobs they have.
Transformation: At least two paragraphs about what your character's transformation looks like, and how it relates to your character. Transformations in the Otherside typically look similar to Noise from TWEWY (Seen here), appearing in colorful forms that resemble street art, and are typically animal-themed (though they do not necessarily have to be). The Transformed form should have a significant connection to the character in one way or another. Also note where the Transformation Pin is located.
Battle Psychology: Give a description of how your character fights, what strategies they use, and their weaknesses. As a rule of thumb, make sure you have at least as many weaknesses as your strengths.
Abilities/Powers: Your Transformation can have four distinct powers/moves/whatever you want to call them that can be frequently called upon in battle. These powers should be creative and match the character, and can be anything from a super move to a support/buff move.
Attribute: A passive skill that your character gains while Transformed. It is active whenever the proper conditions are met, like your character being weak and tired, or certain weather conditions.
Faction: What side are you on? I expect a six-page essay for this section.
As with Infinite Odyssey, I will be giving my GMs increased control over creative input and storylines. They will be notified when story events are occurring, and are always free to submit new ideas or plotlines to follow. Also, even if you are not a GM, feel free to submit your own ideas, or notify me to any problems. I will always appreciate it if you tell me where I’ve done something wrong.
Aside from that, co-GMs will be given the standard powers:
n Authority to God Mod if the situation calls for it
n Authority to accept/deny characters on sound logical grounds
n Authority to resolve conflicts
n Authority to continue to plot in my absence
n Authority to penalize rule breakers.
Likewise, co-GMs must also:
n Keep up with the RP as best as they can
n Uphold the rules and follow them themselves
n Be fair in their decision-making

Ah, the fun part. The rules here are pretty standard. Follow standard RP etiquette, and make sure that you know the basics of RPing. If you’re new to RPs, I suggest you take a look at any of the guides on this site, or the one done by our very own GuardianDreamer right here.
Also, I do have standards for this RP; I do not want to see any one-line posts. All posts should be a good amount, at least two paragraphs in length. If you have to skimp, then one paragraph, but the minimum is two, unless you REALLY have nothing to post about.
Lastly, keep OOC stuff in the OOC thread. I shall drop the hammer of Sleuth upon you if you are OOC in the IC thread.
I think that covers it. Have fun, guys. Hope to see some good stuff here.
