It's a fine day in Johnsonvillecityburgton. Well, as fine as Halloween can get in that town. You see, it's full of atheists and agnostics, and therefore doesn't have an organized church. Halloween in this town is, stereotypically, scarier than Mardi Gras to a anarchist. And by that, I mean not scary at all. However, this Halloween, someone has created a haunted house that appears right out of nowhere. We mean it - it appears and disappears seemingly at will. You are lucky to catch it at a moment when it appears when your friends: Luke, James, and Matthew: are walking down St. Jorio St. You decide to go in together.

But before we begin, you really should have a name: So, what's it gonna be? What's your name?

It would be! And thus, Joshua will be our character's name.

Joshua, Matthew, James, and Luke venture into the haunted house to be greeted with a stunning entrance hall, completely with grandeloquent portraits and intricately weaved, long rugs. Nothing appears to be jumping out at you or doing anything bad to you, but you can't be sure. After all, it was pegged "haunted house". James wonders if the ghosts could be the stakes of purgatory waiting to kill you, but the others dismiss that theory as they have no idea what he is talking about.

There are three doors at the end of the hall, one on the left, one in the middle, and one on the right. You walk towards the doors with your buddies and notice glowing signs above the doors - "Kitchen", "Dining Room", and "Stairway". The question is, which one is right?

Which door do you go through?
A) Kitchen
B) Dining Room
C) Stairway

Meh, I'm inclined to go with the stairway because the kitchen and the dining room would have knives and forks and sharp things that a ghost could throw at you.
But then again, there could be pictures hanging by the stairway that could be used for the same purpose...

You enter the kitchen with Matthew, half-expecting a sharp knife to be thrown at you as soon as you take a step inside, but nothing happens. The kitchen is lavish, with a small table for chopping ingredients at one corner and a dumbwaiter at another. There is a pantry FILLED with snacks and meats and whatever you wants! Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything interesting here, so you leave. But as you try to leave, the lights turn out and Matthew screams. They flicker back on in the form of small candles (must be an emergency system, you think.)

Matthew is sitting in a chair before you, dead! His arms are completely gone and his face has been half-ripped off and contorted into an unimaginable shape - you can only recognize him by his clothing. Shocked, you try and run out of the room, but find that the door has been replaced with a picture sorta like this one. You're trapped in the kitchen with no chance of survival... What do you do?
