Spoiler : Application Form :
REMEMBER! Only 16 of all the apps sent in are going to be accepted! So try and make your app/character the best they could possibly be~!
Name:What's your character's name? They must be your own original character! If your character is from a previous DR Fic you wrote, or were planning to write, or if you RPed as your character in Super Dangan Ronpa Zero, you may feel free to app as them. Otherwise, please do not app as a character not originating from this RP. (Please include the kanji or katakana for their name. Kanji for Japanese characters, Katakana for non-Japanese ones.)
Age:Must be at least 15 up to 18 at most.
SHSL:SHSL or Super High School Level is your character’s special skill. As in, the skill that they are one of the best in their field at. If your character is one of the best actors of all time, they’d be an SHSL Actor, for example. They could be anything from Super High School Level Janitor to Super High School Level Disco Dancer, we don't care. However, like the previous DR:RP no SHSL Despair. In fact, please do not app as a character with a SHSL that was used in Super Dangan Ronpa Zero, Dangan Ronpa Zero, Dangan Ronpa or Super Dangan Ronpa 2 (besides SHSL Good Luck). Also, no supernatural powers of any kind.
Appearance:What does your character look like? Pictures of them would be appreciated, but are not mandatory or necessary in any way.
Personality:Write a bit about your character. What do they like? Dislike? What are their interests? Tell us about what makes them tick, and how they think.
Backstory:Write up your characters past here. What happened to them to get them to where they are today? What was their life like before the plot? What was life with their SHSL like? We’re looking for answers to questions like these, but you don’t necessarily have to answer these particular ones. Please underline any major twists that may come up. Like the Akane/Emi twist in Super Dangan Ronpa Zero, for example.

Spoiler : Rules :
GENERAL RULES:
- At the end of a post, you must have a spoiler tag marked "GM Notes", "GM's", "@ GM's", or something along those lines. All private actions will be placed here. If you do not have a private action, feel free to leave it blank.
The GMs will respond one-by-one to each post- if the spoiler tag is blank, the response will also be blank. Otherwise, there will be a confirmation regarding the action, or requests to clarify or confirm certain aspects.
- Similarly, should you want to engage in private communication with a single player/group of players, you should utilize spoiler tags for such a conversation, clearly marking on the spoiler tag who will be allowed to view the conversation. GMs, naturally, will be able to read all conversations.
- When a prompt question by GMs is given, players must respond in their GM Notes. Failure to do so will result in a warning. Refusing to do so will result in a heavy punishment.
- No player is allowed to view any spoiler tags not directed at them. This will be taken on faith, but should violators of this rule be identified, there will be heavy punishment.
- Speedposting is prohibited. This should typically be moderated by the players themselves, but if a GM notices that a scene with more than two characters appears to be going at a pace where other posters would be incapable of posting/there are complaints that speed-posting is going on, the GM will intervene with a warning for posters to slow down.
- If an action is going to have a lasting impact on a character in a physical or emotional capacity, impacts/infringes on the autonomy or agency of a character in some way, or anything similar, permission for such an action should be asked for from the other player prior to said action. In any case, if you believe that a player has committed an action that should not be allowed without your permission, a complaint should be made to the GMs, and the matter will be discussed and resolved.
- Suicide will not be allowed under ANY circumstances. If you wish for your character to perform self-harming actions (cutting, amputation, etc.) you should have justifiable reasons that you can present to the GM for said actions- be they plot related, character related, etc.
- All actions with GM consensus are to be accepted by all players. Any questioning of GM actions should be done in a polite and respectful manner. Should you have problems with a GM’s behavior, actions, or anything similar, you should consult another GM on the matter, so that the issue can be discussed and resolved.
- If you believe that the GMs are breaking forum rules, consult an uninvolved GM on the matter. If such an act is unsuccessful/impossible for whatever reason, contact an AAO Moderator/Unas, who will then be appointed to resolve the matter.
MURDER APP RULES:
- There will only be one murder in each chapter. Double murders are not allowed.
- In the end, players must realize that a key characteristic of a mystery in this RP is solvability. Mysteries that are far too difficult or complex are heavily likely to be blanket rejected, or will be requested to be heavily adjusted.
- In terms of who is to be found “guilty” of the crime, the guilty party is the one that ended the victim’s life in the most direct manner. (To use Ami’s examples, if Character X is tricked by Character Y into murdering Character Z, Character X= 3rd party, Character Y= killer, and Character Z= victim. If Character A and Character B are both beating Character C up and kill him, the one who strikes the lethal blow is the murderer, and the other character is a third party.) It is vital that there be no confusion as to who killed the victim, and any confusion on this front will lead to your murder app being rejected.
- After the submission of a murder app, it will be examined by the GMs and any other relevant parties, and then if deemed adequate, will be accepted, and the player will work with the GMs and any other relevant parties to discuss particulars and details that may need adjustment/correction. Once this is done and the app is found to be satisfactory and logical by all those involved, the app will be fully accepted and the murder plan will be set into effect.
- Murder apps may be denied for a variety of reasons, some arbitrary, some not. If it is denied, reasons may or may not be given; but notice of app denial will always be provided to the user.
- Murder apps will always be denied/accepted in whole. While the GMs may make comments on how to improve the app, no additional portions will be added/deleted by GMs to make it better. In the end, the construction of the murder app is the responsibility of the player.
- The denial/acceptance of a murder app will be based on GM consensus. Whether or not any explanation is given for the denial of a murder app will also be determined by GM consensus.
- No information from the murder app except the bare necessities of the crime shall be given to the players by the GMs. The only people aside from the GMs that may possess full knowledge of the murder app are the “mystery evaluators” appointed by the GMs. These evaluators have been sworn to secrecy and are not allowed to give out any information about the crime to any other player or non-player.
- If there are no murder apps submitted after an extended period of time (what will be considered an extended period of time will be chapter-dependent and will be determined by the GMs), the GMs will, as a group, pick a murderer and victim at random (for instance, through the utilization of a random number generator), and craft a murder app themselves. This is only to be used in absolute worst case scenarios, however. Adequate amount of time must be given to prove that there are no plans by anybody to construct a murder app for this chapter.
- Should this worst-case scenario occur, warning will be given in the OOC thread that players have X amount of time to submit an app before the GMs create one themselves.
- Murder apps must include at least the following: a murder victim (which may not include yourself, and may only be one other character), an exact scenario of how the murder was planned, an exact scenario of how the murder was carried out (this can differ in details from the plan), and may include measures taken to cover up the crime.
- While you are not forced to abide by mystery rules (such as Knox’s Decalogue or Van Dine’s Rules) when constructing your mystery, they provide a decent guide on how to construct a fair puzzle, and any deviations should have a clear and justifiable purpose.
- All murder apps must include evidence that can (and will) be found by the players prior to the trial occurring. Each piece of evidence should be categorized and given a title (describing what the items are), and a short description (explaining all important details about the item)
- If your mystery requires testimony from other characters, the player must describe in detail exactly what each character witnesses. This information will be sent to the relevant players at the beginning of the investigation phase. If the crime references something that occurred prior in the RP, a testimony must be devised for all relevant parties concerning the event.
- The murder app must explain how the testimony and evidence combine to provide a satisfactory solution to the crime.
- The murder app must include a comprehensible motive. It can be as simple as a desire to escape, fear of being killed yourself, or something more complex. However, some motivation for your character to kill must be present.
- If, for whatever reason, there is a cover-up of the murder (either by the killer or a third party), clear evidence must be given that this occurred. Evidence may not be destroyed, or irreparably altered without some clue being given the playerbase that this has occurred, and what the original state of the evidence was.
- After the crime has been set up, the app accepted, and the murder has been committed, the murderer/an interested third party are not allowed to hide, alter, or destroy evidence. For any reason. Obfuscation/dispute of facts via verbal deception is completely appropriate, but prevention of the discovery of vital evidence is verboten.
Investigation/Trial Rules:
- When a murder app is accepted, this will be publicly announced. After this announcement, any relevant testimonies will be distributed. After the body has been found by two people, an announcement will be made to all the players declaring the location of the corpse. At this point, no rooms will be locked (except plot sensitive ones and bedrooms.)
- The trial will commence once every piece of evidence has been found by at least one person who is not a killer or accomplice, and every character whom is not a killer/accomplice has found at least two pieces of evidence.
- Us, as GMs, and you, as the players, will work together to determine an appropriate trial date. Once a date has been decided, all players with living characters will be given a PM with this information. If this time/date causes problems to any player, they will immediately notify a GM, and if no resolution can be made to accommodate them, then their character will be bunnied by a GM for as long as they are absent.
- Should the playerbase prove stuck for a significant period of time, the GMs will provide information about which rooms still have evidence that needs to be located/how many pieces of evidence still need to be found. No other clues made by provided by the GMs, however.
- If a player is not the murderer or a third party, hiding, altering, or destroying evidence is strictly forbidden. However, they are still allowed to hide certain findings until the trial.
- Unless the player is a murderer/third party, they will not keep any secrets during the trial, unless they have a compelling IC reason to do so. However, such secret information muspdcpt be revealed at some point during the trial. Similarly, players will not keep the crime from being solved through hiding significant information unless they are a murderer/third party.
- Confessions are allowed, however it should only occur at a time period in which it is IC for the character to do so. The player should be able to justify the confession to the GMs and explain the IC motivation for confessing at that time.
Third Party Rules:
- Third parties may only act with the consent of the murderer and GMs. They must jointly apply with the murder app.
- The murderer must be willing to accept the aid of the third party knowing that they can not be killed during the commission of the crime, and can not be executed in the murderer’s place.
- Once this takes place, the third party becomes part of the crime, even if they will not be executed at the end of the trial. Thus they may not directly help solve the case; and unless they have compelling IC reasons (which can be justified to a GM), they must assist the murderer with covering up the crime for the entirety of the investigation and trial, up to the trial’s conclusion.
