Energizerman
You look so cool that you had to close the curtains so that no one could see you.
I personally select each month's Member of the Month. People are picked based on their contributions to the community, whether they are: making excellent trials, providing comic relief or just being a brilliant person. The next Member of the Month could be you!
If you have any questions about the Member of the Month system, please PM me.
As I'm sure you're all still recovering from the aftermath of Christmas Day (not), this months interview is just a short one.
Energizerman: Hello, Meph. This is a very nice living room you have here. Although it does remind me of my grandparent's house.
Meph: That's probably because it is.
Energizerman: WHAT!? How did you know where my grandparents live?
Meph: Er. A-hem. Erm. Moving on to the first question...
Meph: Can you tell us about how you found AAO, and what made you want to join?
Energizerman: Well, it's kind of a long story, so I'll abridge it. I searched for a trial maker a few years ago, and I saw AAO in the Google search. I made a few trials which were not interactive at all, and sucked, so I left the site. Then, I decided to come back a few years ago. When I first joined, I was under a username along the lines of Marioluigi5, or something. Then I made my triumphant return as Duracellman2.
Meph: What's your experience been like with the Trial Editor since you joined?
Energizerman: I think it's been quite good. It's very user friendly (although I still haven't figured out a lot of things), and it is rather advanced. I don't really make trials all that much, though.
Meph: Who is your favourite author in AAO?
Energizerman: Well, I think ShadowEdgeworth's quite good. I've played a bit of Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney and I thought the writing style was like the actual games.
Meph: And what about the official AA games? Which one is your favourite and why?
Energizerman: I would say Apollo Justice (don't hate me.) It's my favourite because it's the first one I played, so it introduced me to the series so really it has sentimental value. Without that, I might not be here doing this interview.
Meph: Which was your favourite case in it?
Energizerman: Erm, let's see... Probably the first one, because it was the easiest one, and it introduces the player to the characters. And I thought that one was quite hard. I mean, it wasn't hard, but it stumped me. I'm a noob, I know.
Meph: What are your main interests and hobbies?
Energizerman: Well, going on my computer, obviously! Um...watching TV, playing Minecraft (that's a minor one, really), watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (again, OBVIOUS), reading, QI, going on TVTropes, playing video games, I have quite a lot. There's probably more, but there's too many to list.
Meph: Go on then. I guess I better ask this. How did you join the legion of bronies and become interested in My Little Pony?
Energizerman: I saw Ami's thread back when there was no Media and Entertainment section. I read the posts, saved a few pictures and after a while, I couldn't resist and watched an episode on YouTube. And the rest, as they say, is history...
Meph: What sort of places do you like to visit?
Energizerman: Well, not Disneyland, I'm sorry to say, because I've never been there. My room seems to be a place I'm at a lot... I don't really have places I like to visit. I like going to the Cambridge services, but only because going there guarantees a McDonald's. My family likes to go to Cornwall, I've noticed, as well.
Meph: What's your average day like?
Energizerman: Well, I don't really do too much, so...kind of neutral, really. I do have a tendency to have a bad day every few weeks (which involves a bit of shouting) and occasionally a good day, but those are (somewhat) rare. So, yeah, neutral.
Meph: What were particular highlights for you as you were growing up?
Energizerman: Well, I think getting actual friends was nice... being selected for this, obviously... I don't know. I tend to ignore the events that happen around (and occasionally to) me. maybe turning 13.
Meph: Oh, and discovering enlightenment.
Energizerman: Yeah. Ask anyone. They know. It involves a certain show I mentioned earlier...
Meph: Oh. That.
Meph: What job do you see yourself having in the future?
Energizerman: Well, hopefully, I'll either be an author or a filmmaker. Failing that, I'll try to get a job for Official Nintendo Magazine. If that fails, I don't know. I haven't got a plan C.
Meph: I suppose it's a bit early for you to be thinking about that. So you want a writing sort of job?
Energizerman: Yep. I like being creative in my writing tasks. I've noticed I get a bit embarrased when my teachers really like my writing work.
Meph: What's your favourite story genre?
Energizerman: Probably sci-fi, because you have more freedom to work with. You can literally just make it up as you go along. Demonstration in point: "The hyperspace train left the station at a speed of 65 light years per hour."
Meph: What was the first video game you ever played?
Energizerman: Well, it was either a Nintendo 64 game from a long list that I won't list because no one probably cares, or it was this weird bootleg Game Boy cartridge I had that had like 20 games on it, and some of them were in Japanese.
Meph: What other games do you really like?
Energizerman: Well, Mario is a main one, and seems to have given me an annoying reputation that I'm obsessed with Mario in the same way that almost every other boy I know is obsessed with Call of Duty. Um...Sonic is another series, although I only own 1 Sonic game (Sonic Heroes), Minecraft is a new one, and Professor Layton.
Meph: What do you dislike about FPS games like Call of Duty (which I also lothe with a passion )?
Energizerman: Well, there's the annoying fanbase who just call everybody gay, the fact that it requires NO SKILL whatsoever, it's overrated and one of my videogame philosophies: The graphics do not make the game. That, and my mortal enemies play it.
Meph: We've almost reached the end of the interview. Do you have anything else you'd like to say?
Energizerman: Well, I have to say I'm surprised to get this honour. I mean, really. I haven't exactly contributed. I've done minor stuff, that's about it.
Oh, also: follow me on Twitter if you're not already. @Jay5025.
Meph: Ah, just thought you'd slip in that little advert? Thanks for doing the interview.
Energizerman: Thank you as well, Meph.
