Garfield

Post by TrialmanAKASoma Cruz »

Quite possibly my favourite cartoon character of all time, Garfield, the orange cat with a love for lasagna (And hate for raisins), he started as a newspaper comic, his popularity soared, and he started getting TV specials, and later, a cartoon series, Garfield & Friends, co-starring the characters of US Acres, another comic from the same maker. Although he might have fallen on rough times, Garfield still remains popular to this day.

He appears with his owner, Jon Arbuckle, his teddy bear, Pookie, and the dumb dog, Odie.

On a side note, I actually loved the much-hated US Acres in Garfield & Friends.
I love all generations of My Little Pony and I'm proud of it! Paste this into your sig if you are too!

I love Garfield! I'm an avid collector (still to this day!) of original Garfield soft plush toys. My collection so far goes back to about the mid '70's and unfortunately, I don't have an original Odie, despite how much I try to hunt around to find one. I have a cheap $10 one from the Royal Melbourne Show promotional bags, but that's about it. ~_~

I still buy the paper every day mainly to read the Garfield strip in it. :XD:

Garfield's pretty awesome. It's too bad the PS2 game of it is terrible.

I prefer the comics to the shows.
COMIC>SHOW
The comics are much more comical.(C WUT I DID THAR?)
There's just something about comics that bring back memories.

It's nice how you can read every single comic since the beginning online.

I love Garfield! I like how he seems to have mood swings in a way. Sometimes happy and friendly, sometimes abusing Odie, sometimes borderline psychopathic. I bought the garfield from the trashbin book it was funny but the final pages seemed...fillerish.

I love Garfield. He's awesome. :D

Sadly, the movies were pretty bad compared to the comics.

I have a Garfield calender with a three-panel comic for every day of the year. Best calender ever! :D

Actually, I receive it by mail every day, for free

I'm a fan of Garfield too - I perfectly identify with him on the amount of food eaten :-P

I'm not too big a fan of the newer ones, but I really love the older Garfields and I'm still more or less a fan. :)

I think thats because, and I know this sounds really weird..., the movies and shows turned down Garfields evil, psychopathic and vicious nature for the younger audience. My favorite strips are ones like the one about squirells with miniature weed whackers, the uncle roy ones, any other ones which include pain in a humorous way for Jon or Odie, etc. Its a shame that they made Garfield have an...uncharacteristically nice side.
