Scary/Creepy/Disturbing Cartoons
Have you ever turned on the television, changed the channel to your favorite channel for cartoon,s and juuuuust when you're enjoying yourself, BAM! You get a really creepy moment or episode that scars you for life? This is the thread to share about it. If there's anything in cartoons that have scared you, disturbed you, or just plain old CREEPED YOU OUT, share your stories here about it. This is the thread for the creepypastas of kids' shows!
My biggest memory of creepy cartoons? Courage the Cowardly Dog, of course. And in particular? The episode "King Ramses' Curse". This episode SCARRED ME. Why? Because it featured that unsettling CGI creature "King Ramse". I had nightmares as a kid because of it, and if it was ever on, I'd run into the kitchen, my ears covered, as I shouted "CHANGE THE CHANNEL! CHANGE THE CHANNEL!!!" I'm not even exagerrating. That thing scared me every time. Even now, it still...unnerves me. And I want to know who voiced this thing so I can kick them in the shins for the nightmares!
Anyway, stories, anyone?

Re: Scary/Creepy/Disturbing Cartoons
There was one show that was really disturbing. One on Cartoon Network called the Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. It had lots of disturbing things, but namely ,this one. The main character, Flapjack says he's a big kid and doesn't want to play with little kids(even though he is one.) An innocent looking little kid walks up to him and asks him to play. Flapjack says he doesn't play with little kids. The little kid says he's forty and flashes him a creepy smile with only two teeth. Thank god they don't put that show anymore.

@SE I don't see what you're trying to imply. Also, the other day I discovered there was a Chuck Norris cartoon that lasted only six episodes. Yup, so bad that Chuck Norris himself roundhouse kicked it off the air.

Ya got that right . I never understood the giant floating baby head or the talking zebra. Maybe more accidental nightmare fuel, or an in-joke?

Re: Scary/Creepy/Disturbing Cartoons
There is nothing as scary as Finnish children's cartoons. Seriously.
This "informative animation" was shown every single evening after children's programs. The bear's voice traumatized the kids for life.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpjR5a7IXUU (the bear says: "beware thin ice")
People deal with childhood traumas by laughing at them:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp0SJecP ... re=related (parody, the bear says: "beware weak heads")
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oiKzob7_4U (Touhou remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rc08St1whsc (the bear drowns)
...and so on.
This isn't really an animation but a puppet show:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvayEXcR ... re=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_jDyfUC ... re=related
People here actually call those monsters in Amnesia "Morso" after that puppet.
This clown was pretty creepy as well:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCIs6dS7 ... re=related
Oh, and has anyone here watched Moomins (that's a Finnish franchise)? The new seasons that have been made in Japan are not scary but just watch those original Moomin seasons that were made here in Finland... Do you remember the Ice Queen, the Groke and Hattifattener for example? And you probably haven't read the original Moomin books but let me tell you some of them are really dark and depressing.
...And then they have nerve to wonder why I became this twisted! Simple. I just had a Finnish childhood!

Re: Scary/Creepy/Disturbing Cartoons
Of course. One of my favorite shows until a few years back I just had to see the episode where muriel gets sown into a blanket while these creepy witches start chanting... I'm not sure if this counts but Coraline scares the crap out of me. Oh, and I used to be really freaked out by Invader Zim, especially the episode "bestest friend" where he makes a robot that tears a kids eyes out and the episode where he starts eating organs...oh, and the happiness probe kid on that show. *Shudder*gotMLK7 wrote:Have you ever turned on the television, changed the channel to your favorite channel for cartoon,s and juuuuust when you're enjoying yourself, BAM! Funny story, now I quite like the show and bought the DVD of season 1 for a friend who likes it as well. Guess the rating...PG? Nope. TV 10? Nope...G! Enjoy your nightmares unsuspecting 5 year olds.

Re: Scary/Creepy/Disturbing Cartoons
When I was like 3 there was a cartoon on and...ugh. It was about like some kid and his brother were left alone by their viking dad. Some wizard kidnapped them and tortured them. Then the wizard froze the brother forever and he died, and the older kid was never seen again. THAT was a kids cartoon. *shiver*

Are you sure it was for kids? Was it at least rated PG?ShokkaDC wrote:When I was like 3 there was a cartoon on and...ugh.
