You'll get there. It's quite easy once you get in the flow of it. Just let your imagination of the details of the crime run riot. E.G. As I said before, the motive, or even the aftermath.Nevfx wrote:I am no good at them. I don't know how to make a good prologue.

Yeah... basically, the better prologues do not actually show the murder, more events surrounding them, mainly to make the player believe the truth is something when it usually isn't.

Definately. It can also cause the real truth to have a more powerful impact in the case.Nevfx wrote:Yeah... basically, the better prologues do not actually show the murder, more events surrounding them, mainly to make the player believe the truth is something when it usually isn't.

This is good advice. I could really use this for my fanfic, cuz of the two prologues I have written so far, my prologues kind of...well, suck. That is why I must emphasize this: THANK YOU, MEPH!

Re: Meph's Handy Tips #2: Prologues
What about my idea of the interactive prologue in Turnabout Suicide? I only did it because I want the player to choose the murder weapon and it will fit with the story in more ways than one down the line. In my trial the defendant IS the victim and I think I follow the rest of the rules you listed here. I used a lot of custom animation so I think its pretty visual no matter which one you choose. (ignore the bear for now, its a joke I put in that I'll take out when its complete, lol).
I think mines is really different but I tried to do it in the confines of regular conventions.
BTW: thanks for the analysis, pics and details in your original post, I think its very insightful especially for people trying to figure out how to start.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it.
But I think that since yours is done in such a clever way, Karl, this guide might not apply anyway, so it's pretty good that you managed to do it in an AA style anyway.

I find that a lightly playable intro is much more satisfying. You are playing the game so you are actually not waiting for the game to begin, you are causing the game to begin.

True. Have you considered grouping all of your tips together or has that already been done?

Yes. They're together in the list of guides (if you meant something like that).Mimi Mika wrote:True. Have you considered grouping all of your tips together or has that already been done?
