Programs/Services to Enhance Your Trial [Revamping]

Post by Phantom »

This thread was written many years ago, and as such there are new resources/tools available to authors that they can utilize to aid in the development of their trial. Therefore, this guide will be revamped to reflect the changes for today. Coming soon.

I've removed links to the shrine, the YouTube file converter and to YouTube itself. Let's not encourage people to steal music. :)

Also, you might want to add this link: http://compilingpw.com/pwmusic

Got it, and added it.

But I disagree with the youtube link itself, it's not encouraging stealing music, but encouraging the user to get an inspiration for how they want the mood in the game to be, legit right?

Er... I don't think it would be like that.

Isn't it considered piracy once you saved the illegally downloaded media in a portable driver?

Saving is not part of the copyright infringement. It's having access at all.

A lot of musicians have an official channel in youtube and upload songs. Putting a link to youtube =/= encoraging people to steal music.

Basically what I was trying to express.

Sorry Meph, but I'm putting the youtube link back at least, the converter can be left out :p

It's not wise to go against the words of a mod, but I will allow that. :)

Umm.... I'm more worried about legal trouble with your webhost than the words of the mod at this point.

I think we need to have a discussion of what kind of links are allowed, since we are clearly having conflicts :(

I think you should add something what I told you about "disappearing sprites" and dropbox, like I've discussed earlier.

You should add Imageshack for hotlinking. It's useful since you don't need to register.

And Photobucket. It's what I used to host sprites used in Turnabout Furries and I've never had any trouble. Oh and Google Sites too. They have a useful feature I'll research later for hosting files- it's like making a webpage. All you need is a Google account. I used it for the Testimony bubble until Fileden's cloud issue is fixed and it worked handsomely.
