That's great! 8D Hurry up, then, though. The deadline's very close.
A lot of people use Photoshop, I also saw Gimp and Paint.Net being mentioned multiple times.

I don't think we have much of a choice, seeing as we need at least 3 entrants.

I like your sprite! 8D
Your entry's been added to the OP.

EDIT: Alright. The comp should've been over yesterday, but... Seeing as it's unclear if we get more participants, we'd like to ask if you need another extension. If nobody replies within the next two days, we'll begin the voting.

Hi! I don't particularly know about extending it, but I actually have an idea and I'll try to have it here in a bit!

As it is, I feel like extending it would be good, because currently it's a curbstomp if we're talking sheer quality. (No offense to the others, but Darth's pixels have always astounded me.) Some more competition might be cool. I might enter myself if I can drag up some energy.

I'm all good with an extension. How much extra time would you need?

Also, on the topic of quality, everyone's allowed to give this comp a go regardless of skill level. I know it puts people down if they're new to spriting, but at least these comps are all for fun, and so it's good practice and feedback.

Somehow, with "no offense" everything sounds twice as offensive. Or it's just me. Either way, if you want to discuss the quality, give constructive criticism, not... this. Letting people down won't help them in any way.

Spoiler : Opinion :
OK, it seems I have to speak here.

Truth be told, I'm not the best spriter here. Does it stop me from making things? No. Do I care what others say? So long it helps me become better or they honestly say they like my things, yes. Have people liked my things? Yes. Can I get better? Yes.

Obviously, there are people here who are gifted in art (I'd rather not say names, but a quick look in the forums shall give you the answer) and consequently, people may like them better. It's simple.

But here is when I agree with Anna; don't add "no offence" to that. It implies that you don't like beginners' sprites, and, in this context, only Darth's.

Now, I'm not saying this is what you wanted to say. But this is what you said, unfortunately. You should have avoided the topic of quality all together. As SuperAj said, everyone's free to enter. No beginner would join if they had the idea of competing with skilled artist in mind.
However, I agree to having more competition, skilled or not. I'm not saying to extend the deadline till August, but I think the weekend should be more than enough. There are a couple of people who expressed interest, and I don't think we'll get more people than them (unless someone is almost over and hasn't posted). There's work, holidays, expeditions and whatnot these days, keeping people busy from here.

Alright, seeing all this I feel like I need to say something.

First of all: I do appreciate the fact people here like my scribbles. That being said, I do have to agree with Ann-nna and Nicky Boy: constructive and fair criticism is needed. Competitions shouldn't put down any potential new artists: quite the opposite! It should give them a fun way to show themselves and put all this creative energy to express themselves.

I never wanted to be put on some kind of pedestal: in my opinion, there are LOTS of spriters out there better than me: Silver-Glas, Cardiovore, Ceres, SuperAj3, Hessehldahl, for one.
I hadn't known there were so many idiots in the world until I started using the Internet.

Rochard Rollins

A 70s rocker through and through, decked out in all the denim and leather you'd expect. Complete with an outrageously oversized collar - wide open, of course, to display that gloriously rugged chest hair. His style references the likes of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Ramones, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, and many more.

I feel like I need to say something, but "great" is overused. XD; Let's just say I expected such quality from you.
