Re: Guide: Tricks to a Cross-Examination
Somebody already posted the guide on this. Click on the link in the "press all to continue" to see.
Basically, you have to define each variable on each press convo to tag that convo as "pressed." You will have to evaluate the condition at the end of the convos via "evaluate condition." You have to evaluate EACH variable in the CE and check that they are all pressed in order to escape the CE. If the condition has not been met, then you will have to redirect the conversation to continue the CE, within the same press convo.

Aha! See, the guide never stated I had to do it for EACH press convo :p
I'll try again and post back the results, forget the newest PM I sent you.

Whoops. I forgot to mention that in the beginning. Thanks.
I've updated the guide to reflect the fact.

Umm... It's called "Amending a Statement." Check again. It's there.

Re: Guide: Tricks to a Cross-Examination
In 3.5 and some cases in the 4th game I think (Alita Tiala most notable), there were times after finding a contradiction you had to return to the cross examination to find stronger evidence in an amended statement, is it possible to do that in the editior?
I want to use that in Part 4 of my game.

Re: Guide: Tricks to a Cross-Examination
Do it the same way you would normally add/amend statements, but you gotta do the coding in the contradictory dialogue instead of the press statements.
Re: Guide: Tricks to a Cross-Examination
Is there any way to do a De Killer moment? You know, the time when Phoenix had to say that a statement was not important, then attempt to add a different statement?
When ending a post, always attach a sig. That's one of my rules.

Re: Guide: Tricks to a Cross-Examination
That requires the complex use of "Answer a Question" and "Ask for evidence."
But this doesn't not fall under the scope of a cross-examination guide. Please ask this question in the "Questions about the Editor" Forum.

All this is is just doing the "press to add" in reverse anyway, isn't it?

Re: Tricks to a Cross-Examination
Sorry for necro, but I find it kind of confusing. I'm trying to make a Press All to Continue testimony, and I'm on the step that says to type press1=1 & press2=1 & press3=1 on the evaluate bar, but there is none. There's only an expression bar, a frame if success bar, and frame if failure bar, but no evaluate bar.
The Final but not so ending chapter.

Re: Tricks to a Cross-Examination
Thanks! Also, it says to put pressx and 1 in every statement's Define Variable's Value box, but what if I need to reveal evidence in one statement and can't do that at the same time? Will it still work as a Press All to Continue testimony?

Re: Tricks to a Cross-Examination
If you need to reveal evidence in that press convo and it's a "press all" CE, it wouldn't matter anyway. Since it's kinda implied you need that evidence to escape, you can do it in the same convo, just not in the same frame.
