Custom Voice Clips, Music, and Miscellaneous Sound Effects
Ever gotten tired of using the default sounds available in the AAO editor? Ever wanted to give your own OC a voice, but none of the canon voices fit? What about music? You'd like to give your case a feeling of originality, but it's not always easy when you have to use the music fans of Ace Attorney have heard countless times before. Well now, thanks to the "Custom Voice Clips, Music, and Misc SFX" resource thread, you can make your own cases that borrow absolutely nothing from Capcom except for the way the game is played! Heck, if you're a particularly creative sort, you could use the AAO engine to create an entirely new playstyle of your own, so of course, you'd want some original audio to go with it, right? Well, you'll be able to find that here now, so step right up and have a look around.
Spoiler : Original Introduction :
For a 100% original feeling case/ series, what does one need? Backgrounds? Evidence? Victim profiles? OC non-canon sprites? These are all things AAO has threads that provide exactly them. But what else would you need for a 100% original feeling in a case? Something that is usually overlooked...Come on it's in the title~...Correct. I can't actually hear you but I assume you said custom music and VAing. So from this thread people can now contribute music and their :objection: , :holdit: and :takethat: 's. With this thread, and people contributing to it, AAO will now be able to pull off cases with 100% original content!
Rules for Submission:
  • Voice Clips:
  • All voice clips should be submitted as .MP3's.
  • All new voice clip submissions should say what the voice sounds like (e.g. elderly male, young female, male with Russian accent, etc...). This should help users with the selection process.
  • If you submit voice clips and change your screen name afterwards, please let me know so I can update the credits.
  • Music:
  • Submissions must be original content or public domain. Sure, there are probably dozens of licensed soundtracks that would sound great in an Ace Attorney game, but not everyone legally owns those soundtracks, and we don't need a government crackdown on our hands for hosting them.
  • This includes Ace Attorney soundtracks. Unless/until they're in the editor, people are going to have to acquire the soundtracks themselves.
  • Submissions must be in .MP3 format.
  • Should you submit a public domain track, you should say what kind of scenes it might be useful for (e.g. Cross-Examination Moderato, Investigation, Courtroom Lobby, etc...).
  • Sound Effects:
  • Sound packs will be listed under spoiler tags of the respective contributor that compiled said sound pack.
  • The game that the SFX comes from should be named accordingly.
  • It would be helpful for submissions to be in .MP3 format. Other formats will be allowed, but if you can covert them to MP3 before submission, it would be appreciated.
  • If you are submitting a pack full of .WAV files, please compress them as best as possible using the .RAR format [to reduce filesize]. Use the "Best" compression settings when creating the archive. If the .WAV files total up to be a small filesize, then you do not need to compress or use the .RAR format.
  • If you are submitting a pack full of .MP3 files, then you don't have to compress them or use the .RAR format, as long as the filesize isn't large [below 20 mb].
  • You must list the filesize of the .ZIP/.RAR pack when submitting.
Terms of Use:
  • Credit all authors whose original content you use.
  • You don't have to credit/list every sound effect that you used in your trial.
  • You DO, however, have to say which packs you obtained sound effects from (e.g. Puddin's Turnabout Generations pack, kwando1313's Umineko Sound Effects (Episodes 1-4) pack).
  • Rehost any and all sounds/music you use. Bandwidth is a precious commodity.

Try making it sound a bit more forceful.
It's rather quiet for an objection. :gray:

So now that I have a microphone, I can contribute to this!

I've made a great bunch of sets. I've more or less made sure there's one that suits every decent (male) set in the Random thread, at the very least.

The first is my actual voice:

Objection!
Hold It!
Take That!
Gotcha!
Eureka!
Not So Fast!
Overruled!

Of course, I have a noticeable accent, so I tried to make a totally average-sounding set as well:

Objection!
Hold It!
Take That!
Gotcha!
Eureka!
Not So Fast!
Overruled!

Next, I made one that was supposed to sound confident:

Objection!
Hold It!
Take That!
Gotcha!
Eureka!
Not So Fast!
Overruled!

And a raspy, villainous-sounding voice. I pretty much made this one especially for Jack Sundae:

Objection!
Hold It!
Take That!
Gotcha!
Eureka!
Not So Fast!
Overruled!

Next, an unbearably smug voice:

Objection!
Hold It!
Take That!
Gotcha!
Eureka!
Not So Fast!
Overruled!

And now, an elderly, slurred sort of voice:

Objection!
Hold It!
Take That!
Gotcha!
Eureka!
Not So Fast!
Overruled!

And, since my voice is fairly high-pitched, this is my attempt at a deep voice. Not too fond of this one tbh:

Objection!
Hold It!
Take That!
Gotcha!
Eureka!
Not So Fast!
Overruled!

My only rules for using these is that you rehost, and credit me.

Ooh I forgot about this thread.

I don't have a decent enough mic to contriubte yet (fingers crossed for the holidays) but I wanted to bump this thread and say that I'm on the hunt for more voice clips for Emerging Legacies, so if any of you guys would like to contribute something here, it might be very helpful for me.

and yes I'm perfectly aware of the army of clips above this post, I just haven't found any fitting my needed characters yet. xP

Resource: SFX Packs (LOOKING FOR NEW OWNER!

Post by Phantom »

I'm looking for a new owner to take over this thread! Let me know if you're interested
[Please note, that for now, I'm testing the waters as to whether or not this thread can be useful...I'll be creating a simple guideline in order for submissions to take place if this thread is a success for trial authors at a later time. I'll be providing a test sample to show what I mean. Everything in this post can be modified to suit the needs of the community if need be...it's WIP.]

-Update: New Pack Out: a collection of various sound effects used for the fangame trial Turnabout Generations, added by Putin

This is a thread for trial authors to obtain sound effects for their trials if they feel the need to expand their sound library.

The emphasis will be placed on sound effects from handheld games, in order to stick close to the authentic handheld sound design limitations offered by the hardwares of the time (so in the case of Ace Attorney, DS/GBA games). Although the emphasis is placed on sound effects from this era, we welcome all types of SFX no matter what.
  • Each sound pack will be in either a .ZIP or .RAR format for compression purposes.
  • Sound packs will be listed under spoiler tags of the respective contributor that compiled said sound pack.
  • There is no preview feature on the forums, so you will need to download the archives yourself and dig the SFX's that you need/want.
  • The game that the SFX comes from will be named accordingly.
  • Some packs will either contain .MP3 files, .WAV or other formats that you need to convert yourself [Will keep for now]
-----------------------------------------------------
Crediting:
  • You don't have to credit/list every sfx that you used from the pack in your trial.
  • You must credit the contributor(s) that created the pack(s) of which you generally used your SFX(s) from.
  • You must label which game(s) that you generally used your SFX(s) from.
  • (Optional) You should link back to the thread so you can spread the word to other trial authors about this resource!
-----------------------------------------------------
Submission Process:
  • [WIP]
  • If you are submitting a pack full of .WAV files, please compress them as best as possible using the .RAR format [to reduce filesize]. Use the "Best" compression settings when creating the archive. If the .WAV files total up to be a small filesize, then you do not need to compress or use the .RAR format.
  • If you are submitting a pack full of .MP3 files, then you don't have to compress them or use the .RAR format, as long as the filesize isn't large [below 20 mb].
  • When submitting a post, please list the game the SFX pack comes from along with their filesize.
-----------------------------------------------------

Resources: -----------------------------------------------------
DISCLAIMER:
These sfx packs come in various qualities. Unless you can find higher quality sounds from a certain game that a contributor already did, then what you see is what you get. We can't guarantee that the qualities of certain SFXs is top-notch.

I can see this thread being really useful, perhaps we can have voice-clips featured here also? I'm really hoping someone uploads Umineko sounds as well... :awesome:

Huh, voice clips...I never thought of that. Only because I don't know of any games that does the usual Objection! clips and such except for the AA games...I don't see how useful voice clips will be for trial authors in particular in that regard.

But voice clips that consist of screaming or panting and all that? Can add some serious atmosphere to their trials.

Question is, will we put these voice clips in with the sfx pack, or make voice clips have its own section so as to make the distinction clear/not waste time for the author?
