[P] The little "arrow"

Post by Exedeb »

Good Morning/afternoon/evening (for me is "night").
Yesterday I used for the first time Ace Attorney Online V6 for my "experiment".
My congratulations for the improvements!!
I'm really happy for the real type texting message (In V5 is too slow).
Can I give a suggestion?
Can you add the little arrow?
I mean, "this arrow"

If you remind, there was a little arrow below, right the text.
Is useless, but it improves the interface.
Thank you.

I think it's better to leave it out, tbh. There are plenty of trials with plenty of textboxes that wouldn't fit if that arrow were there ^^"

The arrow isn't as obtrusive as you're imagining. :P And it's a really helpful feature.

Meph, his imagining isn't obtrusive! How very rude of you.

I have to agree with Bad Player, seeing as both of the cases I've made would have far too much unreadable text if this was implemented. I'd be fine with the arrow being optional, but I don't want to even think about how many frames I'd have to change to accommodate that arrow in the event that it was mandatory, especially since some of my trial parts have 3000+ frame as it is.

Well there's no reason why I can't design the arrow to appear somewhere else. It doesn't have to be at the bottom right corner.

But, then we aren't really going for authenticity, are we. xD

Worst case scenario you resize it lower than it is in-game and you make it slightly transparent.

I agree. If the arrow appears in a totally different place, what point is there to bring it into AAO with an argument about better emulation? I think the augment for that ends up biting its own tail. ;-)

Huh? I don't want to add it for better authenticity. The arrow helps the person playing to subconsciously tell when it's safe to click the Proceed button. I wouldn't want it added in, otherwise. The more signals we can give to the player to help them play quicker, the better.

But... the proceed button tells the player that it's safe to click it... :/
I mean, where else beside the textbox could you possibly put it, anyway? The textbox always worked because it was white on a (more or less) dark surface. Putting it anywhere outside of it, or giving it a special place of its own on the screen has the potential of distracting and even making the image on the screen look... well, bad, in my opinion, at least. Putting it anywhere below the upper screen still damages you, because... Well, the big button's already there... X)

(Not to mention, putting it anywhere else doesn't really make it "subtle" anymore...)

Edit: To add onto my self-quote, within the text-box.
