Spoiler : SoC :
it's time to BASH SOME 'THENA

owait i should probably play in firefox shouldn't i

can't be a dwam case without grimdark polly

c'mon it's only 6 months, there's plenty of time between cases in the games.

I'm sure glad you got over your whole grimdark phase, DWaM

I like how his nametag is "Justice" lol

the faaaaaaaaaade

WAIT WHY DON'T WE HAVE AN ATTORNEY'S BADGE, WORST CASE EVER

you took the case cuz you think the defendant's cute. didn't you.

I expected "I'm fine"

"No matter what happens..." are you going TSotST on me? (I mean, it wouldn't be the first time your sprites have done that)

I think this is Zelda music but I don't remember exactly what, hmm

he mentioned the jurists? HOW CAN THIS POSSIBLY HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH DD AT ALL????

how did he get so wealthy if he was just a policy officer...?

(Polly knows that Marston is innocent because POLLY HIMSELF IS THE KILLER. oh man, you ARE
going TSotST on me, aren't you.)

what are you talking about nick, this isn't familiar at all (esp not to me)

dat ZE music

DW, I HAVE THE BADGE, I TOTALLY HAVE THE EVIDENCE TO DEAL WITH THIS TESTIMONY

no randomized failure convo, disappointment/10

Looking at this floor plan i can say
the victim deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeefinitely wasn't shot from the bedroom. totes.

Edgey the character is a demon, but this trial was made by *DWaM*, so it'll totes be easy peasy

A party that's not a party in a mansion that's not a mansion (with a murder that's not a murder. ASSISTED SUICIDE TOTES.)

How did he get into the study? THROUGH THE DOOR~

...How did he aim in a totally dark room? lol

C'mon Polly, how many times do I have to press before you ask about the window?

HOW CAN YOU AMMEND THE AUTOPSY REPORT IF YOU DON'T PRESENT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE? EDGEY PLS

I'm not sure how you perform an autopsy without a corpse...

So are you going AAI2-3 on me, or is the guy not dead? (Oh, or the guy isn't actually Ian Arts!)

Polly... Arguing for The Sixth Man is all well and good... but what if the person who moved the corpse wasn't the killer?

oooo custom picture

THE KILLER WAS THE TABLE

THE MANSION IS ENIES LOBBY

you just wanted to use the word "abyss" didn't you

"No surprise there. IT WAS THE BUTLER."

c'mon, how DO you present "he wasn't actually dead"?

there we go

IT WAS A CORPSE
IT WAS A CONSPIRACY
IT WAS PIGEONS

This is... Hotel Dusk? (or maybe Last Window, but w/e close enough)

dat sprite

magical changing coutroom :D

grieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeef

polly's bedroom is depressing

ALSO I KNEW YOU WERE GONNA TSOTST ME

these sfx

polly pls, she's not nao kanzaki

I like jelly better than jam

I'm... pretty sure "conspiracy to murder" is a crime

Of course people will literally want his head. That's just how sexy Marston is.

If I try to examine the stormclouds, I just get a "(W"

throwing my attorney's badge at the sky does nothing, wtf?????

cafe risORGImento (hello)

TIME TO DRINK SOME grape juice

QUICK POLLY STAB HER

why is athena 20

this is NOT the dd!athena that i've come to love to hate

but... the badge is right there in the CR...

You threw the coffee on her, burning her face for life, right?

"Bang, Bang" I think I can already see the contradiction

fades died yay \o/

Edgeworth is getting oddly specific.
K NICK I WROTE IT DOWN JUST LIKE YOU WANTED <3

>21 years old
>"experienced investigator"
...k

I know why you spend an hour in the bathroom before you go anywhere, Nick
...but if i say it here, the mods will get mad :<

What if the victim wasn't Arts, but Arts actually HAD been murdered in the study--just earlier.

I tried presenting the door and the balcony, but the true way to present "how to enter the room" was the floor plan alone... You have disappointed me, as usual, DWaM

i'll admit it
i expected de killer

IMMORTAL VAMPIRE
TOTES THE ANSWER
YOU CAN'T FOOL ME DWAM

WOW HE LIED ABOUT HIS TESTIMONY TITLE, YOU'RE FIRED

omg the door moved to the back of the CR. worst case ever

no "TAKE THAT!" when you present the balcony. you're lucky you aren't NN, otherwise I'd shame you

WHAT IF THE KILLER GLUED THE KEY BACK TOGETHER?

...wat. Why can't I present my "Killer shot him from the bedroom" theory????

i... i don't see how a sniper could position themselves for this at all considering how the mansion was at the top of a peak
(if it was surrounded by mountains it'd make sense... but at the peak?)

also did i srsly just have to present the invitation twice

IT WASN'T A SNIPER RIFLE. IT WAS A SNIPER FISHING ROD, AND THEY REELED THE BODY BACK INSIDE

and now you're playing the case for me. rude.

so if it's HIS game i guess edgey is dwam
and im the sexy hobo
so who's polly? hmmm

Gooooooooooo Trucy!

the faaaaaaaaaaaaaade

even trucy needs to drink in grimdark dwamland lol

it was just a sip
and then u died
CUZ THIS IS ACTUALLY PLATINUM, SUCKA
(and now you're in hell
aka grimdark dwamland)
yup i totally cracked the case just now

We Are [Not] Alone
now we just need to turn Thalassa into a mecha and we'll be set

strange hobo man moar liek sexy hobo man

i knew it was cuz he was cute

dat random music change

...I can't check the study door (specifically, the chain) for fingerprints to see if the victimw as wearing gloves..? WHAT IF THE DEFENDANT TOOK THE GLOVES OFF AFTER THE MURDER AND THREW THEM OVER THE BALCONY INTO THE ABYSS????

...Oh. I thought it was cuz he couldn't premeditate that the balcony door would be open xD

(Also I was kinda wondering about this earlier lol. "THE DEFENDANT'S PLAN FOR MURDER which involved just staying there in the room")

lmao, "GEE I WONDER WHICH ONE I PICK" worked

hi krissy

i swear i've heard this song before
oh this is VLR, isn't it?

THE KILLER WAS CROUCHING DOWN
MARSTON TRIPPED OVER THE REAL KILLER

like i said earlier
deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeefinitely not from the bedroom

I'm pretty sure Polly has been gunning for Athena, but the last one at the room was Mary...

I'M GOING TO GO WITH MY LO--oh dwammit

welp. c'mere, athena

hmm
if he was shot on the balcony
wouldn't he end up near the balcony, not the center of the room?

also if there was random blood around the room
from the struggle
shouldn't there have been other wounds on his body, besides the gunshot wound?
I mean yeah, the gunshot would be the main thing to pay attention to while checking the body...
but if the bloody was around the room...
shouldn't there also be rips in the clothes and stuff?
and that'd be pretty noticeable imo
hmm

i like how "SO FIGHT ME LIKE A MAN" doesn't match her sprite at all lol

we're... we're really just going "you're you"? dwam pls

just... just because you *think* the others are credible doesn't mean they actually ARE...

dat gotcha

Ever since Mary said she was the last one at the crime scene, I've been wondering if Smith or Athena was there first...

ofc she did

It's APOLLO Justice!!

i thought a minute ago polly said he wasn't a brat

WHERE'S POLLY'S TATTOO WHERE WHERE WHERE

this reminds me of TSub and Rhea lol

no custom breakdown sprite? lame

DWAMMIT, I TRIED TO ACCUSE MARY EARLIER WHEN WE HAD THE 3 CHOICES

you know
this whole thing could've been avoided if smith had just mentioned athena in his testimony the first time

i tried presenting the gun because it's police issue
c'mooon

dw TRUCY TO THE RESCUE~

this really IS like TSub lol

c'mon, no gramarye theme? it's perfect for spectacular entrances/exits!

W...Who has Polly brownnosed? lol

MWAHAHAHA, NOTHING CAN *TRULY* BRING THE ACE HOBO INTO THE DEPTHS OF DESPAIR

chatting in xat reminded me that Rune and I basically already used the contradiction from the first CE in TPairs xD

lol, I totally called the broken courthouse. Can't be DD without it! (Even if this isn't DD at all.)

Well, ofc Mary isn't the kind of man that gives up at the first sign of trouble. She's a WOMAN.

of all the times to switch to ch3
THEN?

also why wasn't the attorney's badge revealed from the start? lol

c'mon mary. i thought you were an EXPERIENCED INVESTIGATOR?

c'mon. what if they saw the blood stains on the floor? wouldn't that be enough?

How come I can't present the door to say that light should've been coming through the door...?

LADY JUSTICE~

You struck a cool pose, Trucy, BUT YOU DIDN'T GET THE MUSIC CUE RIGHT

Yeah, I thought that testimony about the gun was a bit TOO obvious...
But it doesn't matter! With the power of The Ten Teacups, this problem can easily be resolved!
...if i can actually present the answer
......cool music btw

Using evidence from a past case for personal revenge? WHY SO TSOTST??
(also that present was.... idk. I liked using Arts' gun better.)

C'MON POLLY YOU HAVE MAGIC EYESIGHT, SEE THROUGH HER BLUFF

huh guess i was wrong about my theory

athena lost her badge (I guess?) boo hoo

...We skipped IV, didn't we?

so Nick was right about the killer from the start

Damn, only on V5. That means the saving is still bad. At least it encourages me to use the version with the player interface I like better, I guess. This SoC thing is a trend now, so here is whatever from someone you don't care about that I felt like writing anyway.

Spoiler : Chapter 1: :
.
- Hang on, was this previously an entry to a competition that was then dropped, or is it still a comp entry?

- Also, a finished DWaM trial. But will it beat CT...?

- So, Grimdark Apollo just got Engarde'd. Something tells me she's going to be the defendant for the playable case, too...

- Oh. Okay. So that's the AU. I write up points too frequently.

- He "needs to scream and raise an objection," but can't? Familiar.

- Oh god, there's no badge. I fully understand why it's called "The Empty Turnabout" if this dire need is never fulfilled.

- "Young people?" Phoenix, you are in your mid-thirties. pls

- Oh god, the walkthrough says who's testifying. This always kills me when I can't resist scrolling down to see who the killer is take a look at the credits while the walkthrough's open.

- Oh, there's a badge, I can stop hyperventilating now.

- A check button and a picture? Pretty suspicious. I wonder if we actually use the Badge for something in a fancase other than obsure secret endings?

- This music when it cuts to a "not ready" Edgeworth... What. Where is this music from?! I must know! (Seriously, if you read this, where's that track from?)

- If it is, my music choice for my case has now lost its originality...

- So, in the trial from the prologue, a guilty Athena got a Not Guilty verdict, and I guess this Nathaniel is the one Athena tried to say is Guilty in that trial. That is just a premature random guess, though.

- Winston Payne has one of the highest win records of any prosecutor, canon-wise. Somehow.

- "Collection." I hope this isn't going where you're implying. Oh. Steel Samurai. Of course.

- ...Is this a dark case or a comedy? I can't tell any more... Or maybe this is just the comedic relief. Let's go with that.

- Eww, Jurists. Please don't pull a TSuccession...

- Ian Arts, perhaps?

- Of course they confessed. Well, I kinda like these, 'cause there tends to be a good reason why.

- Wait, if Edgeworth is saying that that's a difference between Wright and Apollo, does that mean 1-5 never happened? Because that's the most notable example of the client confessing that I can think of, and Edgeworth was there at the time.

- Miles Gumshoe, shoe size? What? Eh, whatever. I don't think it's important. And now that I've said that, Miles Gumshoe is gonna be the culprit, and the final contradiction involving footprints.

- I like this cynical judge quite a lot. He's a lot more different to the normal judge than TTomorrow's was, disregarding sprites.

- Is this a press all? Or, press all then present? Because it's always those two for initial testimonies.

- No, Phoenix, when it's being renovated, Apollo and Trucy get a hotel room and Kristoph is allowed out of prison.

- A tired and old cliché...

- inb4 the culprit just locked the door from the outside with a key. Well, screw that, then.

- It's strange how all the keys in fanmade games look the same.

- Speaking of the client, do we get to meet him sometime?

- Okay, press all didn't work. So I guess the key... on the statement about the door... to show that they could have used it? Doubt it, but I have nothing else.

- Oh okay.

- "Gumshoe, is something were to happen to you, she must have a quick means of reaching me!"

- Well, I'm gussing the autopsy. I just hope this isn't case sensitive... "The Autopsy..." Oh, good.

- Oh, right, they body was missing. "The Victim," I hope... Crap. Err... "The Victim's Body." Oh, "body." Well hey, at least there's no penalties for that.

- I don't get why they're so shocked when they said that they didn't know what the victim looked like when we get his profile. Oh well.

- "...SOMEONE must've taken that body! And that "someone" must've done it by making it seem impossible!" Four liner, just in case you wanna get rid of these.

- Err... well, it's the key, the floorplan or the door here, but I can't think of which... I guess "does not require a key for the inside" is it, because they could have opened the door a bit even when the chains were there and done... something with the lock?

- Oh. Or that.

- Is this orange text a slight reference to the "red is true" thing from Umineko that I see all over these boards?

- Since LUNCH BREAK?! My god... Also, this judge is still great.

- Assuming they got the victim into a specific place, á la TRev, and knew where to shoot, like in TTomorrow, they could shoot the victim from anywhere on that floor. Maybe even the entire mansion.

- "The only pieces of furniture in the room was this bed, a chair and a table." *were.

- Wait, I have to say how it was removed already...? ...The window? Oh, that's a balcony. And reading the walkthough to check that... no reloading. Alright... I'll just check all my answers on the walkthrough and inevitably get spoiled on the killer. ;-;

- When do we get to Cross-Examine Gumshoe again...?

- The killer is a glass fitter. Screw that, the killer is the window cleaner fron TTomorrow.

- People referring to the killer as a "he" instead of "they" always have female killers. I think. ...

- I assume that the killer just threw the body into this "abyss," then...

- Oh, here's that Gumshoe CE. Eh, press all again? I'll go with that. Oh boy, a press conversation choice... Let's go with "...Are they positive," since it's at the top, and if it wields nothing, I'll just try the other. logix

- Well, there's no such word as "Ngh" so I'm going with "Actually..." and then getting the inevitable penalty when I can't prove it. Okay. Err. They could've used the key, I suppose, but that means the butler is under suspicion...

- Please say that they threw it into the abyss so that my theory was right... ...Oh, cool.

- Are we ever gonna get a profile for the defendant?

- Okay, so I guess the victim was alive and... is this assisted suicide? I sure hope it is, 'cause normal suicide has ruined two canon cases already. Of course, murder would be way better.

- Okay, statement three, I guess, is the one about the body "leaving," so... err... are we using profiles here, too? Okay, that didn't work. Wrong track. So it was still definitely the window fitter.

- I guess he got out... with the Study Door, somehow? He unlocked it, put chains there... then did some trick with the key. Oh, no, hang on, if it's the balcony, then I guess the key.

- When there's two choices that mean the same, go for the funnier one. "Not Mars..." it is. He crossed the bridge and died, I guess is what it wants me to say for now. Or the balcony. Damn, it was the bridge.

- I hate when you have to say if you have edivence or not. Walkthrough pls halp. ...Oh, so "Err..." and "Not Mars" are different. Mkay. So no, I totally don't have the evidence.

- "It's... worth it."

- Huh, that side on Apollo and the mirroring of the co-counsel is quite effective.

- Mary Adair? Sounds vaguely like "murderer," I guess.

- I swear there are police outfit versions of this OC sprite. Suspicious. Oh, she's all about people underestimating her? I wonder if we're supposed to acknowledge that Magatama or not.

- "Denial," eh? Okay. So this is like TSttST, then? Or TSotST, whichever it is. I think it's the former, since it mirrors the letters perfectly which matches up to the "coin" thing. Whatever, it's trial with occasional investigations. I like this layout, so... yay.

- So is this stemmed off of the bit in DD where Apollo goes all emo and leaves 'cause he thinks Athena is a killer, or is this different?

- "GODDAMN IT MY SPEECH BUBBLE WON'T SHOW UP WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!"

- I don't recognise this background from The Failed Turnabout. Nup.

- So she's on duty now, I guess, considering the uniform.

- This whole drug thing is pretty suspicious to me. Mary's prime suspect, followed by the Judge. Also, this personality is... very different to the one that was just presented in court, so it's doubly suspicious. Unless it's a bluff. I'm sticking with those rankings, though.

- "I think someone is going to die." What are you talking about? People don't just die left and right in this universe.

- Come to think of it, with the Kurain obsession could come a relation to they Fey family, which would make a confrontation against her pretty epic. Though a Judge would be equally so.

- "People can't be arrested for what they haven't done, but please save someone from the prosecution of the thing that hasn't been done yet." Actually, I think I misinterpreted that a lot.

- Right, scandal. So her friend is Ian Arts. I think this might be getting to the point of being a bluff... so I'll put both my suspects on equal footing for now.

- False hope, you say?

- Uhh... it just cut to the witness stand. What? She's still in police uniform, so I guess that wasn't supposed to happen. It's a couple of frames before "I can understand he's your friend, but if you have evidence to prove he's planning to take a life..."

- Back in grimdark Polly's grimdark room. So I guess that the witness bench thing was just a minor bug.

- With all this suspicion of the only two OCs that aren't the victim or defendant I forgot that people can cheat and make canons cuprits... like in that one case... I will never list suspects the same way again. Still, I'll stick with those two until an opportunity for a canon culprit arises.

- Café Rigormortiso? Not sure I read that right, clicked it too quickly. If it was, or somethng similar, kudos to you.

- This music is quite fitting. Is there a track list at the end of the game? Aaand if not, can we get one?

- "That comes the morning after." This writing for Athena is pretty damn good.

- "Three days." Wait, so this IS just after The Monstrous Turnabout... but before Countdown which is when he has a mood about Athena and goes away.
- I always wanted an evil Athena. To be honest, she would've been a better final antagonist for DD provided she wasn't the defendant.

- If this is an act being put on by Athena, is sure contradicts the normal "acting" that the villains do in Ace Attorney, which is just being condescending. Though I guess she might actually be innocent, and Apollo just finds her manner of speaking creepy at this point.

- "Ah, but the court says I did not." Oh. Ohhhh. Okay then.

- If this is... "psuedo-canon," I guess is the best way to put it, I wonder if Athena killed Blackquill or The Phantom. She would have pretty good reasons for killing both is the Metis incident still happened.

- You mention coffee in a non-canon case and you don't even get her to serve it to Godot...

- Coming to think of it, perhaps Athena is in the same situation as the other "confessing" people/ defendants, and she's being manipulated somehow by The Judge or Adair.

- Pick the top answer... select "yes..." and get a statement added.

- Veeeery minor, but on the ""Erasing" Arts" evidence: rid of his photographs. He used...

- Nice, you can't add the Erasing Arts evidence more than once.

- Eh, now the other choice, whatever that was. "Sudden invitation." Oh. I think I've found what I need to present. ...yey.

- Statement 4 is LIES! I KNOW WHAT YOU DID MARY! Huh, a floor plan that's actually used for a contradiction. ...Okay, that wasn't what I was thinking of, but I guess it doesn't hurt if I got it.

- Was that required or one of those "yeah, okay, good logic, but nope, nothing to do with it" contradictions?

- Oh. Before or After. Err... After seems most grounded in reality, so with that in mind, let's go with "Before..."

- Okay, walkthrough peek #4, if I remember correctly. Oh. I was supposed to pick "After." Right...

- Ooh... that contradiction was on the verge on being unfair. Pretty good, kinda feel bad I didn't get that one.

- Glad I looked at the walkthrough for this next bit too, because I would've picked "Everything." ...And there goes the "Erasing Arts" evidence.

- It's usually "lol nope I can't prove it but it's obviously true," so I'll go with that.

- straeng hobo man pls

- "Oh damn, I'm gonna lose and this is the end of the case, the next two chapters are just the credits."

- And crap, I have no idea which of these it could be.

- I guess... how he got into the room. So the Floor Plan? It's that or the door.

- "Well you sound hyped about it." This Judge...

- "Nice fake British accent, by the way." This Judge...

- "You look good enough," he says, with his eyes closed.

- Stiiiiill moderato... ;-;

- Alright, I do like that "money" sound effect for this character.

- Oh, I have to present the way in now? I was just pressing. ;-; Eh, not the door, so the balcony, I guess.

- So now that we established the victim could've gotten in through the balcony, I guess that's how the window fitter got in, too?

- OBJECTION! OBJECTION AT MY OWN INNER THOUGHTS! I AM WRONG AND I KNOW IT! I HAVE YOU CORNERED NOW, ME!!!

- Okay, fine, so for now, we're suspecting the butler, I guess, if this Master Key works.

- STOP LYING TO ME, INNER THOUGHTS, OR SO HELP ME I WILL CRUSH YOU WITH THE POWER OF LOGIC!

- You broke the key. You... genius.

- All non-canon cases shall soon be linked together as one in my messed up head-canon.

- "And that, in turn, means you kind of suck." He seems so simple yet amazing to write, why did I not think of this type of character at all...?

- "Am I a sensible person." Well, you would be if you gave me the option to call you that, Apollo...

- *Selects "Hell No."* *Gallery immediately start talking as if I were wrong.*

- Okay. So. "Baiting me with it the whole time." Okay, so the key, or the confession... the balcony or the door? Oh... well, we have evidence for all but one of those... but that doesn't make any sense at all. ...Okay, consulting the walkthrough when I had the right answer doesn't count...

- Oh, something he didn't want to be seen IN the confession. So I was vaguely on the right lines when I said it hadn't been presented as evidence, but I meant for a different reason.

- Where is the culprit inside this scene...

- No.

- NOT another inside/outside.

- Okay, at least there's a walkthrough.

- My earlier theory was that they could theoretically be outside the room... so I guess that?

- Walkthrough says yes.

- "...or extra bullet holes in the wall!" ...Oh. Never mind, then.

- Wait, what about the floor? If they HAD got them into position and fired from below, depending on the angle and what you can see from the lower floors, there might be an opportunity there.

- ...Oh, the bridge. I got like two or three penalties trying to point to lower floors.

- I wish I hadn't come up with the bridge thing so I could say BENDIN' BULLETS.

- It's so tempting to save so that I can see what happens when you say BENDIN' BULLETS...

- Are you kidding me? A... Supra-Inside/Outside. I'm gonna die, both in game and right here...

- Well, sticking to the bridge thing, "True," I guess. And now... The briiiidge...? Yup. Okay, I do know what I'm doing for once. On the TSttST Inside/Outside, I was stuck for absolutely ages...

- Damn it, huge penalty. Walkthrough time.

- Okay, I just pointed to the bit below the bridge... I'm gonna have to save, because even with the walkthrough I still don't know which place to pick.

- Oh, the other side, on the white part. I thought it meant that we had to pick the black area just below the bridge from the player's perspective.

- Err... the weapon?

- So, it had to be one of the invited guests. That makes Mary all the more suspicious again...

- Err... I guess Smith is an accomplice, and he gave an invitation to the killer? ...That also worked.

- "Because your over-the-top reactions are priceless...?" Hazama, Maria, and this Judge are the ultimate troll tag-team, now.

- Well... the balcony doors were open, does that count? Yes it does. But now to explain the bullet, and I have no idea. Walkthrough peek #6, I think. ...The victim?

- Oh yeah. I forgot the body disappeared. I'm an idiot. That was a pretty good puzzle, too, actually. Why can I never solve the good ones...?

- Those finishing lines. Perfect.

- An actual gunshot in the room seems most reasonable, I guess, if this is the route we're going. And then the balcony, because I couldn't figure that out by myself.

- Do we finally get to see our defendant? And even get a profile? Because I'd feel less empty if that were the case.

- Whew, that was a long as hell first chapter, but I really liked it. So, moving onto Chapter 2.

Spoiler : Chapter 2: :
.
- I just did a quick framecheck. 10,337. 10,000 is the best case length, so, that's pretty good. Unless you're TRev.

- "Their way out of this one." Well there goes my theory about misdirection towards Mary. Still fairly sure it's her, though.

- Oh, it's Lionel Taylor. And Trucy. Okay, I hope she cries, not because I hate her, but because I don't want that crying sprite in the credits to be her breakdown when/if she were the culprit.

- And the Judge is pressing charges. Okay, I only have two suspects to sort through here, and I really don't know which one of them did it.

- Lionel, you had better be Nathaniel or I'm gonna have another suspect getting in the way of my main two.

- "...Getting your coffee with sugar when you specifically asked WITHOUT goddamn sugar." Oh, so Athena served YOU in that place, then.

- ...This seems pretty out-of-character for Trucy... I hope it leads to something relevant... or at least her crying.

- Police Detective as the defendant. So the Lionel Taylor sprites are for Nathaniel after all. That's good.

- Oh, so Mary was acting like that 'cause she was in on some kindof plan. That makes her seem less suspicious, which, by definition, makes her moreso. Oh, you were just acting for the Jury...? Yeah sure, okay.

- I thought the phone call was something to do with Mary. Okay, so I guess it's Athena? Seems pretty wierd, considering... y'know, the previous scene with her in.

- We have a profile. I no longer feel empty.

- The way the characters had interactions before the trial is something I like a lot. Anyway, testimony ti--

- Still moderato? ;-;

- "And that's all she wrote." Swear I've seen a testimony end this way before...

- YES. YES. NEW CE MUSIC. YES.

- Okay, this is pretty easy... the gun only had his prints on it... Also, this music sounds very Zero-Escape-y, but I don't think I've ever actually heard it. Still good.

- Uhm... check for fingerprints? Who do we present for that? Oh, Nathaniel himself. For the gloves, I guess we ask Mary? Actually, I don't actually trust Mary, do I? ...Meh, whatever.

- I love prosecutor Rebuttals. Whelps, I asked for new CE music, and I got two in a row. No immediate contradictions, I so I guees press all.

- Well, I can guess the statement, the one about it being premeditated, but no so much the contradiction... Walkthrough peek #8, and... the balcony? Well, right statement, but even so, I still don't get it.

- Gee, I wonder whi-- wait, what? I'm glad that option works, actually. Maybe it was the same for that BENDIN' BULLETS thing.

- "Do you honestly believe he would remember where he was shooting?" "Left." "...What." Amazing. And I think this brings some new info, too.

- "And just what is that "thing?" "FFFFFFFFF..." These trials have sure lightened up since the likes of CT.

- Oh, I see, it's the fact that the bullet was on the wrong side.

- Well, damn, seems my theory about being shot from a different floor was almost right, though I didn't suspect they'd stand on that lower balcony.

- Okay, seriously, the Judge's ballistics question is just stupid...

- "I... I just wanted to be one of the cool kids..." ur en kuul kid 2 me

- Here we go with the "his."

- Okay, so the shot wasn't found due to a silencer, I guess, how do present pls. Oh, there.

- NO WHAT THE HELL I THOUGHT WE WERE GONNA PRESENT THE PROFILE GOD-DAMMIT NOW I PROBABLY PICKED THE WRONG ONE.

- Oh. Never mind. Mary did it. Oh. Didn't give us much choice. So we're accusing the Judge. Cool. Considering we still have Chapter 3 left, unless we're going TRev lengths of confrontations, it's Mary for sure.

- Athena and the Judge are two of my favourite non-canon AA characters. Well, this Athena doesn't count as canon, really, that's why I say that... whatever, the point stands. They're both great.

- Employing that "I like to mix up languages" gimmick that they made Athena have for about five seconds before forgetting about it as the testimony title. Kinda glad somebody remembered it, because by the end of the first investigation of 5-2, it's pretty much gone, as is Widget's "voice."

- "Owning the same nail polish does not a murderer make." Clever. Also, AA music for a CE. Pretty sure I heard "That's all she wrote" from a Kristoph testimony, too, come to think of it.

- "Section 781 of the 2025 redaction of Japancalifornia criminal court law says..." Welcome back, Eisenhower.

- Walkthrough peek #9 says... her profile at statement 3. ...Alright? Okay, that wasn't really a... contradiction... That's just saying she was there, which we already established...

- Sniper the penguin used the sniper. Mary is a penguin. Okay, I don't... know... any more. Anyways, still not sure who Athena might have killed, or why she was invited here; just hope it's actually revealed. And while we're wishing, crossiz reel naem pls.

- Derpy pose for Athena in the courtroom shot. Ah well.

- New Phoenix sprites. Me like.

- Apollo stop getting so worked up, this is only Chapter 2.

- Walkthrough peek #10... Smith's profile. Damn...

- "Isolating yourself form others isn't going to achieve anything here!"

- Polly, don't make me laugh, you have one and only one lawyer outfit, and it isn't that.

- Did she kill Clay? Because she was the defendant then, and Apollo would sure be angry about that.

- "MUST YOU PEOPLE GET EXCITED OVER EVERY LITTLE THING?!" Just wait until you try to declare the verdict and somebody objects. You're gonna have to look in horror while the shocked sound effect plays, and then wait for everybody else to do the same.

- ""Edgeworth would've been like "no, come on, bro, this makes no sense!"" Athena would be great at writing in-character canons.

- Damn. I did name Blackquill as one of my three suspects for who she killed, but I was pretty intent on Clay before that.

- Athena has joined the troll tag team. Blackrune has some competition.

- "You will NOT accuse Mary Adair of this crime!" ok

- ...FFS, I clicked the wrong option and didn't accuse Mary. Hadn't saved at all.

- Okay, there might have been something wrong with this choice last time, because these aren't the choices I was given, if I remember correctly. It was "I can" and "I can't," I think, which didn't make a lot of sense in that context. Now it's "Accuse Mary" and "Accuse Someone Else." Meeeeeeh. Accuse Mary, I've been suspecting her throughout this whole thing, and it's pretty clear the culprit had to be a guest, which the Judge wasn't.

- Err... the evidence IS in the court record, I guess. Can't think of anywhere else, and unlike a lot of other common choices, (should I press harder? Naw, just leave it.) there's not a "usual" answer, there's been times when one was the right answer and times when it was the other...

- Arts' Body, I guess, she did that "autopsy," and I already claimed not to trust it...

- Okay, let's try "not in the Court Record" and hope it doesn't ask me where it is, which it inevitably will...

- No, Athena, you don't use Internet slang like "lolwut" in real life. pls

- "Don't act badass if you don't have anything to back it up." Okay, I've been wondering for a while, why didn't you use Judge Awwyeah's sprites for this guy? They'd fit well. Then again, it wouldn't be as pleasantly surprising, I guess.

- "Judge wisely, judge fairly and all that jazz." This Judge should just replace the canon one, I swear...

- Oh, YOU'RE who he called. Well, you have now achieved plot relevance. Let's hope your drinking has, too...

- "Uncle Edgeworth?" Ahkay...

- "Just saving Polly's ass." No... Trucy c'mon please you'd never say that...

- "NO, I rushed into a courtroom to show off my dance moves." Stop having really good dialogue that I can't like because it doesn't fit you...

- Shoulda been called the "LA-8" case report considering how long it took to get here amirit

- The victim's daughter, I'm guessing, before he says it...

- I got a culprit prediction riiight! I don't tend to do that in fancases... Well, I got it right assuming you don't make this a bluff and have The Judge/ Smith/ a Canon character the culprit.

- "Plus, going all cool and mysterious on us isn't one of your common traits, I'd say." It wasn't for you, either, Phoenix, until 4-1.

- "She requested for it not to be discussed, at I will respect that."

- Don't pull an OHoaT where only the bad ending reveals the motives...

- Whoa, how'd you make "Examine" just examine immediately?

- "Like daddy?" So she is Arts' daughter.

- 'Kay, well, I play AA for the confrontations against culprits above pretty much everything else... so let's go.

Spoiler : Chapter 3 :
.
- "I'll do it in two moves." This is leading to a Ferdielance case reference...

- Or a whole testimony named "Mate in Two."

- I like how we get the inner thoughts of the culprit, that's pretty unique.

- I guess one of the other guests could've seen the body too... Since Athena is the most likely accomplice, I guess her...?

- "Now. With all do respect." Unless it IS "do." I always thought it was "due."

- "You've bee following the trial up to this point, I'm sure."

- "You know... Just (so)we know. Before you happen to waste our time?

- Is Athena gonna be a troll and say it was on the right?

- New testimony music again. Good good. Is the second testimony the last?

- How could I have gotten rid of it? The abyss?

- "Man, this is tough. Can I ask for a lifeline, or something?" HAVE ALL THE LIFELINES JUST NEVER STOP EXISTING.

- Okay, so it's about possession of the gun. She's a police detective, so that's pretty simple...

- I was gonna say she got an old gun and had it recommissioned like that other non-canon character in another case did, but that seems to not be the case any more.

- "Oh, yeah, no, yell some MORE - that'll help them!" I can't stop just pointing out his dialogue.

- THIS music is pretty faced paced, and I like it. pls soundtrax

- She got the gun... somehow from Ian Arts, I hope...

- When in doubt, ask the butler? Apparently so. For a final confrontation, this is relatively easy, though maybe that's because after the Rune era of making things obscenely difficult, this is bringing it down to a reasonable level.

- The victim hid the gun... under his mask? I don't know, there's been no relevance for it yet, except for defining character.

- Urgh, damn, 'seems that that path was a "yeah, nice try, but not what we're looking for" paths... Glad this isn't as easy as I thought back then, at least.

- Okay, Nathaniel, then?

- A better way to present it... Damn, okay, no guesswork here. At least there's no penalties... Presenting Mary? Didn't we just do this...?

- Whelps, buh-bye, profiles 'n' evidence. Glad I still have that badge, though... I hope this isn't a bad ending.

- Okay, was Mary REALLY not guilty? Please, Athena, be lying...

- Okay, so it wasn't Nathaniel, and it wasn't Adair. It's unlikely to be Athena, so I guess it was the butler? ...Also, I hope it tells us who was sentenced in Athena's place after all this...

- Isn't this background one from The Failed Turnabout as well?

- "These are some next-gen anti-stalking techniques you're doing right here, son." I can't think of any more ways to say I like the writing, but there you go.

- So Blackquill raised Athena, huh?

- So the body disappearing had something to do with Athena's job application? "Him." So the culprit was either Nathaniel or Smith. So Smith. butwhy.

- Well, that was a pretty brilliant case. The only bad things I can think of are Trucy being pretty out of character, a couple of dodgy contradictions and that very open ending, because I still don't get it. Maybe I'll re...watch(?) it and see if I understand. Good-things wise, perfect difficulty, a good locked room, Athena and The Judge, of course, and pretty much every thing else I didn't mention as bad.

- Don't lie to me you didn't read all that.

- 9 / 10, I guess. Really enjoyable, and it took the whole day to finish, which not even TRev could accomplish. This may not mean much considering this I've played only about 20-25 fancases, but this is one of my favourites. Yay.

I SHALL ANSWER THE AGE-OLD QUESTION THAT HAS BEEN PRESENTED BEFORE ME

Spoiler : :
It's from Skyward Sword. The name of the track is "Silly Groose".

Anyway, thanks for playing it so far (but don't you quit on me dammit).

EDIT: (Regards to chapter 2)

Spoiler : :
HE ASKED YOU, THOUGH

HE ASKED YOU IF YOU WERE SURE

AND YOU SAID YES

YOU ARE TO BLAME FOR YOUR MISERY

...okay here's an avancement, I guess: http://aceattorney.sparklin.org/jeu.php ... ement=3064

ignore the double gun

also, not picking Mary and accusing a select group of people gets bonus alternate endings!

also note that the game becomes pretty buggy after using avancements, just so you know

You misunderstand, I have a habit of, instead of clicking on the "instant text display," leaving it off and double clicking every text box, so that the text advances, and instantly displays. Of course, this goes wrong, a lot of times, and I end up advancing it one too many times or selecting a choice because I didn't know it was coming. I seem to love doing so when I'm about to make a really important choice...
So yeah, I am to blame for my misery, really.
Edit: And... finished. Apart from the VERY ambiguous ending and Trucy, there wasn't a lot of bad things here. So yeah, this case is pretty damn brilliant.

Well, while I personally found it to be quite the opposite (at least, when compared to some of my other endings), I suppose that everyone looks differently on certain things.

In any case, thanks for playing.

Your welcome... and you are correct...

NOTHING is more depressing than "Turnabout Curtain's" ending... :calisto:
