I finished the case. I'll put a full review up later, but this case most definitely deserves more attention that it's gotten.

I suppose. When I think about it, while the winner fully deserved to win that particular comp, if out of those three cases any can unironically aim to get featured, it's this one.

All of the cases were really fun, this one focused on the "Best" part of the competition.
Spoiler : :
It's a melodramatic Ace Attorney case, complete with sudden tragic backstory, plot twists, and prodigy prosecutors. What makes it really funny is that the Payne family is the center of all of it.

Just played this. This was a 10/10 case, and I loved it.
Spoiler : :
I kinda liked how silly it started, plus how insane it got. The justification of it being Payne's psychological trauma was...certainly something else XD This definitely did what it was supposed to, so thanks for that!

Well played with this one.
Spoiler : :
Being for the worst comp, I never even questioned it when the case logic went insane so it was a pleasant surprise to see it all end up making sense by the end. Sadly the game over redirection seemed to have bugged for me as I still got the standard game over during the last CE that you're apparently supposed to lose on, but I can kind of figure the rest and it looks like there wasn't that much I didn't see so it's not that bad. ^^

Glad you liked it! Though what you've described is the first I've seen it happen to anyone. No testers nor clcman have reported it, but I'll see and try to fix it.

Spoiler : about the Rune's bug :
I looked into the editor and I noticed that you set game over redirection pretty much AFTER every single penalty. And this appears to be the same for the final testimony.

Rune simply got penalized too much before the final testimony, and then she was hit with a deadly penalty before the proper game over redirection was set.

The game over redirection should be set BEFORE penalties. Setting it once as the start of the trial (at least until it changes due to the story reasons) is enough.

Wait, that wasn't supposed to happen? I thought that was intentional, actually, like in an avant garde way… Guess it's time to give it a replay, then XD

Penalizing the player for finding a contradiction is bad design, I would say. It's like punishing your child for doing his homework. (I'm talking about the first cross-examination.) If the intention was to make fun of Payne, I would do a fakeout instead. For one, it's hard for me to find contradictions, and when I think I'm about to make progress, seeing this frustrates me more than it should.

I'd need more details to have an opinion on this, but as I recall, those weren't real contradictions in the first place.

And no, I haven't forgotten about the review. Life has been extremely hectic, but it has now calmed down some.
