As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted by the server gods...

Tiag added to the list.

I do know that we have one other person trying to do something (fanfreak247), and at least two other people were thinking about it (trialdude and PatBrownGame), so definitely a good haul for the moment.

And all it took was me seizing control of the government and locking you all in your homes! Muhahaha!

You all better do things to keep this hype going!

I can happily report that fanfreak247 and mariofan have joined the comp via the Ace Attorney Case Developers Discord server, bring us up to TEN official entrants.

Don't fail me now, guys!

Out of curiosity, what's the comp with the most entrants?

I actually am making a case that I want to submit for the comp. If I'm confident that I can get it done before the deadline, I'll enter, if I'm not, I won't. Is that ok?

That brings it up to 11, possibly 12 entrants. On one hand, I'm excited about this. On the other hand, I'm nervous about so much competition.

PatBrownGame added.

Double KO: That is fine. I can add you to the list if you would like and if it turns out you can't make it, you can say so and I can take you back off. But that is up to you.

Because I have nothing better to do I'm sure The New Guy will finish itself, I went back through every case comp since August 2010 ("A Comedic Case") and counted the entrants listed on the lead post (minus dropouts). Yes, this is an imperfect method dependent on comp judges striking out everyone who didn't submit a case, but even locked in my house, not finishing cases, I don't have time to dig through 1,198 pages (yes, I did apparently have time to add those up) to determine exactly how many actual submissions each of the competitions got.

According to this count, the highest entrant count was "trololololololololololo - In Memory of Eduard Khil" with 17 entrants in summer 2012, followed by "Canon? SCREW CANON!" in fall 2011 with 16 entrants (15 of which were beaten by some random noob with an explosion avatar coming out of nowhere at the last second).

The most recent competition to have 11 entrants was Acid Rain and some guy with an explosion avatar's "I Want To Believe!" in late 2016 (though two comps shortly before that, "Never Trust The Narrator" and "Ace Everything Else Online" had 14 and 13 entrants, respectively). So we are definitely at a 3-year high right now.

Of course, raw entrant numbers aren't everything. The comp of mine I consider the most successful is "The Best Worst Comp Ever", which had three entries (plus one troll entry) that were complete, immediately released and all REALLY good. Well, bad. Whatever. The point is that quality is nice and you should all be making really excellent cases in addition to running up this comp's statistics by posting more. At the moment, I don't think we're in a new Golden Age of AAO Comps, but we do seem to be doing pretty well, and all it took was forcing everyone to stay home for several months.
