Re: [P] New mobile layout does not display the "back" button when examining a scene.

As far as I know, there hasn’t been an update since the fix was committed; Unas probably hasn’t gotten around to it yet (and we haven’t really stayed on top of it either). Thanks for the reminder; hopefully, it’ll be sorted out soon.

Re: When will AAI cases be added?

It’s a significant feature that would require a huge amount of development time and resources, and it’s not currently being worked on, so it’s impossible to tell. I wouldn’t hold my breath for it in the foreseeable future.

Re: PHP for trial editor?

AAO, and the infrastructure surrounding it, was first released in 2008, which predates the release of NodeJS in 2009—it literally did not exist when AAO was first created. And even then, when v6—i.e. the current iteration of AAO—was initially developed and released, the NodeJS ecosystem looked very ...

Re: [E][P] Checkbox for new Merged Frame Behavior

A PR implementing the discussed behavior (only update name/speaker if the user specifically requests it) has been merged today and should make its way into the next update.

Re: [E/P] Some thoughts on the recent mobile layout changes.

For the record, these screenshots were taken on a Oneplus 7T Pro, with a display resolution of 1440 x 3120. That is your device’s base resolution, but it employs a pixel ratio of 3.5, meaning its effective viewport size—i.e. the amount of pixels your browser has to work with by default—is 412 x 892...

Re: [E/P] Some thoughts on the recent mobile layout changes.

This post would also have felt horribly incomplete without exploring all of the reasonable ways to interact with AAO on mobile, especially as some users may be using something such as an iPad with a much wider display than my phone. That’s fair. Any device that has a logical viewport size higher th...

Re: [E/P] Some thoughts on the recent mobile layout changes.

Thanks for your thoughts. We’ll be fully reverting the editor changes in the next update. The player is not intended to be used in landscape mode on the tiny screen dimensions that are commonly found on phones. The smallest screen resolution the player is optimized for is 1280x720; anything below th...

Re: [E][P] STARTUP Animations and GIFS are broken on ALL cases. (They don't start from the first frame always anymore.)

Enthalpy and I had a discussion about how best to handle this feature, and arrived at the conclusion that it might be worth checking out whether to switch the display engine to use transparent canvases using the provided images as a source, rather than img tags. There are libraries that simplify thi...

Re: [E][P] Checkbox for new Merged Frame Behavior

Not sure if a checkbox (and an associated new frame property) is the way to go here; it seems more prudent to just leave things as they are if there are no inputs specifically suggesting that something should change. So if the voice is set to “Auto”, leave it as it was; and if the speaker is set to ...

Re: [P] New music track won't start in the middle of fadeout

Thanks for the report! There are a few unreleased fixes regarding the music engine in the pipeline, but I was able to reproduce this locally on the most recent code, so this is one that slipped past the cracks. Will investigate and hopefully fix.
