In V6 and with recent enough browsers, I've seen cases going above 7000 frames without issues; but in any case, you'll always find it easier to work with smaller cases anyway.

Actually, it wasn't really a conscious decision on my part : I just forgot to regenerate the V5 config file when I moved to the new server. I've just fixed it so it should be running fine again. Well, the soundmanager2 library that we're using is supposed to have HTML5 audio support, so it could just be a matter of changing the configuration of that lib, but yes, it depends on whether browsers actually support the HTML5 audio well enough to handle all the features we use.
