Re: [E] Expression engine in screen editor

I, too, don't see this happening anytime soon, I'm afraid. The examples given seem like cool things to support, but as Enthalpy has already pointed out, the amount of work required to implement this in the current model is massive, and a disproportionate one compared to the benefits in my opinion.

Re: [E][P] Possible change to text formatting?

The message box appears to be larger in PyWright than it is on AAO (AAO emulates the original more closely in this regard). Text line width - i.e. how far the line "reaches" horizontally into the text box, given equal contents - seems to be fairly equal. Subjectively, the AAO way looks mor...

Re: [E] Custom Cutscenes

To pick back up on this topic, despite its moderate age: HTML5 video support is widespread in all modern browsers, and performance is generally stellar, even on mobile. I have recently worked on a project that extensively uses HTML5 video (specifically, in .webm format) to generate broadcast graphic...

Re: [P] Unskippable Text on First Viewing

On the other hand, I've played cases that are far too verbose, and where I need speed-clicking to get through them. Hence, why OP proposed putting a toggle for this into the player settings. I'm not inherently opposed to the idea, and I can see the issue OP has brought up. I am concerned, however, ...

We've reached out to Unas, who runs the site and is responsible for pushing updates to it. Can't say how long it will take, as any estimation would be just that.

It was definitely inspired by T&T's lobby theme, which already had a much darker mood than the previous (and following) games in the series. I'm glad you like it. :D

Re: Development News : Return of the bleeps

The fix for this issue has been submitted, and it should be going live with the next AAO update (barring any surprises).

New track today - and this time, it hasn't even been a year since the last track! ...he said, as if that was anything special or noteworthy. Nevertheless - enjoy a haunting DS-era Court Prelude theme! As always with DS-era themes, please don't just use it in your trial - ask me for permission first ...

Re: Development News : Return of the bleeps

The fix is still simple; it's just that I continue to have very little amounts of free time, and the amounts of it that I do have, I haven't been spending on AAO. This should change by the end of the month - I really hope to have a fix for this submitted by early December.

Re: [Minor bug] Deleting a background and Ask player to poin

Good catch! I was able to reproduce this bug; seems to be a case of not checking for place dependencies in that specific action. Looks like the only remedy is to delete the frame and recreate it to be able to assign a new action, which makes this a pretty annoying one. I've added this to the bug tra...

Re: Development News : Return of the bleeps

I've been swarmed with work in recent weeks. The fix to the lack of bleeps for non-Latin characters should be relatively simple, but I simply haven't found the time to implement it yet. Please keep in mind that this is a volunteer project that none of the contributors see any penny for, and that any...

Re: How to insert characters into storyboard in trial editor

Welcome to AAO! I'd suggest you read through this excellent beginner tutorial , which should familiarize you with the ins and outs of the trial editor. The answer to your question can be found there as well - characters need to be inserted through the Screen Editor, and the tutorial will teach you h...

Re: how to implement fade ins?

The pop-ups section is the correct one, so I don't think you're doing anything wrong. SVG fades like those are known to not work properly sometimes in Chrome, though - which browser are you using? To my knowledge, they should work fine in Firefox. On the subject of fades, hopefully, the next Editor ...

Re: Development News : Return of the bleeps

You are correct - cyrillic characters will indeed not play blips under the current code. I'll adjust the code to be more inclusive of non-Latin characters and submit a fix very soon; though at this point, it's not yet possible to say when exactly the next AAO update will be released.
