This was definitely a nice little case that feels right at home with the Broken Commandments comp! I'd say my only real criticism is the pacing, as I feel like a lot of scenes, especially the "final showdown" go on just a little too quickly to properly understand what's going on. But other...

To quote the comp rules:

Entries may be a Trial, Investigation, Comedy, Miscellaneous, or anything else so long as they follow comp rules.

And since a Deus ex Machina doesn't necessarily revolve around crimes, per se, I don't see that being an issue. Of course, final judgement goes to the judges.
