Image Hoster that works?

Post by fartyshittyhead »

Tinypic is dead, and photobucket might be as well, and imgur doesn't work. What are expected to use for image hosting and music hosting?

Imgur does work. My immediate suspicion is that you're using the wrong link, linking to the page with the image rather than the direct link to the image. See
https://imgur.com/QRYXwa7 (wrong)
VS
https://i.imgur.com/QRYXwa7.png (correct)
If that is indeed the problem, the easiest fix is just adding ".png" at the end of the link (i. at the start as well, if you want to be thorough).

Tiagofvarela should have answered your question for images. As for music hosting, I'd recommend reading this tutorial. It's relatively easy to follow once you get to it. If you are unable to follow the tutorial, I should warn you, Kiwi6 broke for me recently so I wouldn't recommend it. There was this other site I used before Kiwi6, but I can't remember the name; the interface was mostly black, though, with a green bar filling up when you uploaded something, so avoid that site too.

I use DropBox for my custom audio. Once it's uploaded, create a shareable link, and that's what I use in the editor, although there is some slight tweaking to be done to the URL to make it work properly. For example, here's the shareable link to one of the music tracks I'm currently using:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/mj1mu7i6qyzmq ... s.mp3?dl=0

To format it properly for the editor, remove the "?dl=0" at the end, and replace the "www" at the beginning with "dl". In the end, you should have:

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/mj1mu7i6qyzmq2 ... isters.mp3
