so this query is going to take a bit of breaking down, but i'm going to provide a bit of needed context
1. first of all, i am a brand spanking new user, so please forgive any incompetency
2. i'm creating my first game, so i am still learning, although i feel i've learned a lot in the past few days of playing with trial editor
3. apparently the link for the tutorials is outdated? i tried clicking on the links, but it asked me to download some browser extensions, which i did, but when i click the link, it sends me to a website called sparklin.org. this page only gives me advertisements and nothing else. incredibly infuriating.
4. i'm aware that you are intended to "host images" to include images that don't come with trial manager, so i am using imgur
i have absolutely had it with imgur. before i was attempting to use github to host thanks to an old TheDoctor thread, but I got stuck on one of his steps. don't worry, i messaged him and he's working on updating it. in the meantime, i switched to imgur, since tinypic is discontinued, and photobucket costs money.
THE MAIN PROBLEM: what the hell do i have to do in order to link the proper URL? i have tried all the available copy links and copypasted them in trial manager. nothing.
the links imgur gives to you are as follows when you upload an image and click on the "copy link" button:
https://imgur.com/YGJ1nqC
the links imgur gives to you are as follows when you upload an image and click on the three dots and then "get share links"
Share Link:
https://imgur.com/YGJ1nqC
HTML Embed:
<blockquote class="imgur-embed-pub" lang="en" data-id="YGJ1nqC"><a href="https://imgur.com/YGJ1nqC">View post on imgur.com</a></blockquote><script async src="//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
BBCode (Forums):
Markdown (Reddit):

i have plugged in all of these links, and all that appears is a little blue picture that is most certainly NOT the image i am trying to implement
currently, the image i am trying to implement is the bottom part of the detention center, so any characters i put in there will appear to be "behind" the glass. i intend to have this image in the foreground, so it will appear to be in front of the character.
i feel i will run into this in the future when i try to put characters behind the witness stand, as it's a similar problem
should i be implementing this as a popup instead of a foreground image?
thank you so much for listening to my woes!

Re: putting characters behind objects and imgur problems
The link imgur gives you links to the page the image is on, not the image itself. You need to right-click your image and select "Copy image address" or something like it. This will copy the direct image url, which for this would be "https://i.imgur.com/YGJ1nqC.png". You can also right-click "Open image in new tab" to view the image on its own, then copy the url from the address bar. Paste just this url into the field and it should now work!

Alternatively, you can copy the "Share link" and then copy the file extension manually. If you know you uploaded a png, add ".png" and so on.
imgur used to give you this automatically, and I'm surprised they don't anymore.
