Just posting this here as well:
Tap wrote:Spoiler rules will be revised once the official OST is released. I will be relying on Meph to pick out those non-spoiler tracks.TheMan wrote:So now that Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies has been released, I assume you're revising your spoiler rules to fit in with the upcoming soundtracks and some other things?
In terms of character usage, we'll stick to the rule of thumb we've always used, and that Ami is referencing as well. Anything in promotional material is "non-spoiler", but for the time being, until we've finalised the spoiler rules, please mark all potential GS5 spoilers, including what will likely be non-spoiler, as spoilers.
The blanket ban on all PL vs AA material will continue, and the spoiler rules in place for Gyakuten Kenji 2 are also in place. However, given that there is a reliable fan video translation that is almost complete (I think), I'll talk to Meph, and perhaps we might start to rescind some of these GK2 rules. Perhaps.

To clarify, dowolf's translation is currently nearing the end of Case 3. He's still got a ways to go, although he's making excellent progress: He uploads a video daily.

Yes, but that would count as spoiling yourself. Until the game- physically or digitally- can be bought physically or digitally in a legal manner in English, having been distributed by Nintendo/Capcom/whoever legally is allowed to distribute, spoiler rules are still in effect.SwagmaWampyr wrote:To clarify, dowolf's translation is currently nearing the end of Case 3. Unless we ever implement a Japanese section, then those rules will only stop applying in that section.

I thought that if the fan translation comes out, the spoiler rules would be lifted. >_>

Fan translation isn't a game you can play, it's also not the official translation. Until the official game comes out, the spoiler rules won't be lifted. GK2 has a fan translation out, and we haven't lifted those rules yet. I'm fairly sure we did this for the previous games, and even if they weren't? I'm not moving from this stance unless Unas says otherwise.
Also, not everyone wants to look at the fan translation. Some of us are saving ourselves for the real thing.

Ami, you know, we did have two OST tracks added to not-spoiler list earlier, following BP's video translation...

I understand it when people want to wait for the game translation instead of watching videos, but holding back with playing the actual translated game, just to wait more for official translation? Really?

...I wasn't pitching an opinion in on the GK2 spoiler rules being lifted, I was just clarifying the status of the translation project.
