Re: How to use GitHub to host music and sfx
I did manage to get this to work, but after three of four times, it now won't play the custom music I added at all.

I was waiting on you to tell me you had made the necessary revisions.TheDoctor wrote:Any chance we can move this into tutorials yet?
In any event, I'll hold off on reviewing this until ApolloGrimoire's report is dealt with. If no audio is playing, then we have a major problem. Also Apollo, could you elaborate on what you meant by "three of four times"? I don't understand.

I was testing github on my Case 1 Trial Latter after syncing the mp3 file.
It worked the first few times when testing it out just to make sure it did, then for some reason it wouldn't play again. I tried the method for copying the sound link in the tutorial with my file, but that didn't work, so I did a direct copy from the project page and that worked for the first couple of times.

The trial could not be loaded.
I'm not sure what the problem could be. If it worked at first, but stopped working later, I haven't the foggiest idea what's going on.
Of course, on my own trials, I always refresh until all sounds and music can fully load. If at any time, part of the loading bar's gray turns any color other than green, I refresh. It's not always feasible considering some trials have limited bandwidth, but it shouldn't be a problem with GitHub.
EDIT: I guess you meant you have trouble with the sound loading in the editor. In my experience, externally loaded sounds don't always load in the editor, but they generally work during playtesting.

I go it to work again. Double checked it, and it's working fine.
Move this to tutorials now.

This sounds stupid, I know, but...How do I download github? I made an account, and...idk what to do now.

I'm assuming the download link is here? TheDoctor can confirm if that's what he's talking about. Either way, putting a link in the OP would be ideal.

Enthalpy's correct. I also edited the tutorial to include a link to the download page in step 3.

What if you already have a xxx.github.io site?
Re: How to use GitHub to host music and sfx
That's an excellent question. I'd say you could either add them to an otherwise inaccessible portion of the site, or start a new one.

I finally made my own one of these. Should have done this a long time ago.

I have a feeling I have no idea what I am doing wrong or just that I am very stupid and can't figure out this tutorial out at all.
